Do you mind rewriting another one please? Ms Foxy Well, I've reposted it, I hope it doesn't end up being a waste of time, lol. Because, I was enjoying the conversation too! Peachy

I sent a message asking why the Mindfulness thread would have just been deleted when it had only wandered slightly off track with a couple of posts. And those couple of posts could have just been deleted. .The answer in a nutshell (no, I didn't ask if I could share) after a thanks for the message, is that. "If the topic was reported for having gone off topic or containing too many problematic responses, it may have been deleted entirely". .My reply sent a few minutes ago was along the lines of asking for a more specific reply from RHP. Commenting that surely the staff have a look at the thread before just deleting it on someone's whinge. Also, that I would have liked to have been a part of the decision regarding my thread..Giving the OP some control over their thread has been mentioned by RHP in the past. I wouldn't mind the idea of having decisions passed by the OP before completely deleting a thread on a random complaint. My thoughts anyway. Peachy

"If the topic was reported for having gone off topic or containing too many problematic responses, it may have been deleted entirely". .My reply sent a few minutes ago was along the lines of asking for a more specific reply from RHP. they'll tell you that the thread is now gone, and since it is gone they can't tell you exactly why it was deleted. So that is why the best they can do is the standard copy and paste reply you received (and is probably exactly the same as one that I received). Did they suggested just posting it again? Which doesn't address the issue if a post is deemed worthy of being deleted, simply reposting doesn't tell you how to modify it in order to not be deemed inappropriate.

Last time I commented on this type of thing, having been a prior moderator on another site, I managed to have the thread closed down. I was busy this weekend and missed it but even the title of the thread makes it a worthwhile one to leave going.

Close, .Hello, There are no specific details to give. If the topic got deleted, it's likely the topic wasn't old enough to salvage or there were too many posts being complained about (or both).. I do count myself fortunate to have received consideration having asked for it in my second message, that I will be advised if there are reports. Thank you RHP representative, I will take my angst as having been somewhat acknowledged. :-). If you start the thread again and there are reports once more, we will let you know..Being a talkative soul, I have responded again lol. Also mentioning that I will make sure to take a screenshot of the thread if I have the chance next time... Because.... I had it open in another window and could have copied it if I'd thought yesterday. Hmmm, Peachy

One of things I commented on was that if there was anything to be complained about, I would have been the first one 50. I honestly thought it had to be a boo boo. Bummer.. Can't change what happened, I did appreciate me as OP having the chance of a yay or nay before having the thread wiped though. I realise there will be yays and nays for that, lol. Quoting 'Bettysullivan' Or maybe they just thought your pics looked too professional. Xx Maybe. Perhaps straying from the exact point a little here, and speaking only for myself... Although RHP isn't too bad, I've been on various online dating sites long enough [read: all my life] to assume the general rule that profiles that appear "too good to be true", probably are. Many have lifted pictures of models from the general web (not to mention profile text). And I've been proved right much of the time when they turn out to be scams/fakes/bots etc. Most fakes are piss easy to spot, others have learnt to copy more realistic profile data. The typical scenario goes: ProfileXY has sent you a message/flirt/mutual match etc. Me thinks: "Oh wow, she's gorgeous. No, wait, can't be real." My lengthy (return) message: "Hello ProfileXY! Your profile is interesting in that... etc etc" ProfileXY: Some generic reply like: "Hi. I'm new. Can't message here, reply via [insert unusual looking web link] etc etc" Me: (Sigh...), hit the report button again... and about time I deleted this profile/site/app while I'm at it... RHP has been much better than many other sites, very few fake profiles (from my perpective). Which has led me to gain some very real and very lovely friends. Other sites have been a complete WOFTAM (look it up). So to my friends, and to people like yourselves, I hope you can accept a compliment that there are some lovely exceptions to the rule on here :) But there remains a point that certain imagery will attract attention, but sometimes the wrong type: the suspicious type (whoever from). Obviously you (plural) have overcome some of this by having highly individual, unique profiles. However some data entry person might not be seeing the whole picture. On a similar note to watermarking, I did once submit a picture to my profiles on different sites, a picture that had my preferred (humorous) caption contained on the picture itself. It was rejected on some sites, but was approved on others. But I eventually decided it was just too corny anyway ;)

I can see this is a big issue for some as it seems to have taken over the venting thread. Has anyone thought of starting a thread on this alone and giving the RHP staff a single forum thread to read. If you gave them the details of what is happening on a specific thread perhaps they could see where the problem lies. Mind you I have had this problem on other sites over the years and mostly if I take more than 5-10 minutes to compose a message. Since then I have copied everything just in case I am logged out and then can just paste it in.

That was for suggestions for improvements to RHP. Lasted a few days before it got closed and RHP posted thanks but if anyone wants to make comments etc to do it via customer service. So i have filed a ticket couple of weeks ago and the response was they have a problem and are working on a fix. But since the stage coach carrying the spare parts broke an axle so they are waiting for teplacement axle which is inbound by a schooner which has since ripped her main sail and is taken refuge on an island in the Indian Ocean. There is the option of hot air balloning the bits over but been too windy.

Dear RHP'ers We are aware of the annoying logout issues that are affecting users during their login sessions on RedHotPie and the cause is still being investigated. Unfortunately, the logouts appear to occur at random (as you may have discovered), so it is taking some time for technicians to pinpoint the actual cause. Being random, some users may never experience these logouts, whereas other users may find this to be a seemingly continuing issue if they spend prolonged periods logged on (ie - Forum regulars). Please be assured that we are looking into this matter. If you are likely to post long forum posts or compose large messages, please 'Select All' and 'Copy' to clipboard, before clicking on 'Submit' should you get logged out in the meantime. It's not a particularly elegant solution but at least you will be able to 'Paste' the content of your clipboard and not lose your hard work. We appreciate your frustration and we hope to find a solution as soon as possible. RHP Team

PeachyI'm sure they knew what to expect when they went there ;) Firstly: the obvious disclaimer that I find ideas like the notion that "it's ok to rape someone on private property" absolutely repugnant and nonsensical, and all the other bad things I've seen attributed to him. I find the commentary surrounding it on Twitter is typically horrible and hypocritical (on both sides) - with precious little in the way of debating/debunking/destroying/rebutting/etc any of the ideas that are objectionable. e.g. Jill Thomsen: "The creeps from ReturnOfKings@ are meeting in Sydney. Their masculinity is so fragile they will use 'codewords' to find each other in public" I understand that it is amusing because part of the website's tenets are that women are not as strong as men - but people are suggesting violence against men for attending a meeting, so the cloak and dagger shenanigans seem reasonable to protect the meeting from disruptive elements, and to protect safety of attendees. Attacking their sense of masculinity is hypocritical when it is coming from people who advocate equality AND advocate against 'rape culture', or using terms like "real women", gamergate, etc. It is equivalent to men attacking women who present ideas by calling them a slut or some other gender specific insult rather than attacking the ideas they present. It is easy to call someone a dickhead, but it is a childish way to argue - it is almost the opposite of arguing as you're actively avoiding engagement with the issue. I took a look at their forum, and from the articles about this fellow and his group you'd expect it to be a forum like Stormfront. But it seems much like any other forum - if you cherry pick the right stuff you can characterise everyone associated with it badly. I wonder how much of this fellow's comments are just "playing the game" of social media to extract maximum attention, and the resultant page views to his site. Had anybody heard of him beforehand? Have lots of people now? I read an article tracking Donald Trump's social media posts, and the timing, content, etc and the resultant impact they had. You toss out some stinkers and it's just as bait to reel in the fish. Reiteration of disclaimer: I find ideas like the notion that "it's ok to rape someone on private property" absolutely repugnant and nonsensical, and all the other bad things I've seen attributed to him.

So, I took it as a not a done from that. I also wondered if he would need permission to enter? I know some people have been refused visas before because of similar issues, I think I learned that from the forums too, lol. But I don't know if that's an issue in this case. Cheers, Peachy.

Quoting 'TisonlyI'Keep bastards like that out of Aus. Scum like that should not be allowed to speak publicly let alone publish books, there is enough shit here already. so write a rebuttal, don't read it - but don't limit what others can say/read/write to the topics and viewpoints that you approve of. What is particularly ridiculous is the notion that by preventing these people from even entering the country because you find their views abhorrent - that you've somehow safeguarded Australia from their evil. So Joe Bloggs can't enter the country to run a seminar, fine, now he's got the publicity he just stays at home and does a webinar and writes an article series online. Keeping people out of a country doesn't prevent their message from entering - so maybe they've lost out on a bit of money they would've picked up in seminar attendees. Instead you've increased their brand awareness by a LOT. The long tail looks healthier as a result. I daresay most people never even looked at the online material from these guys to form their own educated opinion before jumping holus bolus on to the bandwagon.

Love that it's there now... but I keep forgetting to tick the 'follow the topic' box when I post a new topic. Hmmm, maybe a suggestion to RHP to change the default. I can only try I suppose. Peachy ;-)

Quoting 'unicorn99' The goanna living in my roof keeping me awake at night... Though I heard him/her catch 2 mice mice this morning Could be worse. A friend of mine up the coast had a red belly black snake in her roof catching mice. Tried to have it relocated but it returned a few days later. Finally left by itself when the mice were gone!

I'd suspect those are the hours of possums rather than goannas. Possums like roofs too, never heard of goannas in roofs but happy to be wrong ?

I think not, and the 2 mice that died loudly and slowly would agree! I did initially think possums as we have plenty around, but this lil guy/girl only gets more active with the heat....and yes I have heard of plenty roof dwelling lizards! Quite common in the hills, I don't know the exact species but they are black and can grow up to a meter in length...though mine sounds like a mini T-rex!

I broked our micro/grill. .Going to have to buy a new one..Who's the idiot that thought making a micro / grill out of plastic was a good idea? .And if you're going to put a warning (on the inside of the door) about not using the door when it's warped the least you could do is be more explicit about what is going to cause that warping. .RIP favourite cooking machine ever. I'm sorry, <3.Peachy

Just today I was in the Japanese classroom, looked up and saw a small end of a tail poking through a hole. Then I saw the bigger hole in the roof...apparently Possum had been there before Xmas..they had tried to lure Poss into a cage....Poss trotted down the ladder stole the fruit and popped back home..So far Poss 1 school 0 😛xxFreya
