the 'language' of love?

April 14 2011

whats with women these days? it seems to be the 'norm' for women to swear, like sailors, in conversation and even here in forum posts. for us, its offensive, and dont understand the need for it. do they not care? we've read posts of women of all ages and theyre peppered with profanity...is it just laziness, or a genuine lack of vocabulary? or just plain rude? we think the latter.......

Interesting topic you bring up , it's obviously pissing you off , and fair enough too. I mean I can empathize with and understand that. Many of my friends and family would also not like it. I'm not asking that you become just like me , but personally I'm only interested in whether someone is trying to help or hinder , you know what I mean? Like is the person vibrating (coz after all it's just a sound vibration) intending to be good to others or not? For me I don't care which colour of vibration a person uses as long as in ESSENCE their intention is good. As the tattooed guy said earlier times constantly change , as does language and all kinds of social norms , but what is the essence? What is the intention behind what they are saying? I have seen so many times with people that the thing about getting older is you do become more set in your ways , in your thinking , one of the keys to becoming older happily is that you've got to remain supple , flexible. I know I'm younger than you but I've encountered this so many times. So you were saying that throughout your lives you've always been of that opinion , ok fine , but now I challenge you to really look at whether a person is trying to cause harm to you or anyone else and judge it on that alone , not on a lifetime of conditioning. Eg if someone after a few drinks says to you " mike n shel I fucking love you " AND you KNOW they are in ESSENCE saying that they really like you and nothing else , then just hear the essence and nothing else. BUT if someone IS ESSENTIALLY trying to harm then you can judge that to be a negative thing , again regardless of the color of their language. I apologize in advance and in arrears for my use of highly colorful language , I've used it because I thought it to be useful in so many ways , it is very useful indeed , but I'm sorry that it is offensive to some. What can be done? I think that the greater good here is that the swearing remains because it is so useful and enjoyable to the majority , the minority I guess will have to tolerate , or not , up to them.

Remember mum and dad saying bloody at everything that went wrong. And when they got pissed atsomeone on the road they poked their thumb up and said bloody idiot. Then as you grew it turned into the finger and F-ing wanker where did you get your licence, lol.Times have changed haven't they.First time I swore was the word bloody and boy did I get a hiding for it.Then one day as I was running from the belt, I yelled the words, bloodies in the biblebloodies in the book, if you don't bloody believe me have a bloody look, just imagine whathappened next hahaha.Just wondering if all nationalities swear while talking to one another in general conversation.I know Italians and Greeks do but what other cultures do.It has become a normal thing at home, work, parties, everywhere you go you have peoplechatting and slipping in the odd fuck, shit, the Big C and so forth. Is it the normal thing in front of children or your own mother and father.Have we lost the respect or is it just acceptable.

I used to be terrible at swearing. My apprenticship years were spent on high rise building projects in Sydney. You met a great class of people there. I am trying to reform but it is weird that I never swear in public or in front of clients - only at home for all to hear. Mrs. rarely if ever swears, heck, she is so concentrated on the event I cant even get her to talk dirty on orgasm. Anyway, for me it is now part of a changing acceptance in usage and frankly the 'f' word is described as the most descriptive word in the English language. Think about it for a while and you will see that there are no situations where this wonderful noun/verb/adverb or adjective could not be used effectively in communicationg sadness, glee, joy, hurt, pain, angst, color, sucess - whatever you can conceive the word can add description. So long as you don't end a sentence with a preposition or worse still use two ('from where it came from') we will get along just fine and dandy.

We see no need to use swearing in normal talk? It just indicates bogans and low literacy skills to us....male or female. Using dirty talk in bed, or whispered in ear is totally different, and is a big turn on of course when stupid commandore drivers cut you off its ok to swear hahah

I think swear words are definately more like exclaimations, and should not be used as adjectives....Perhaps excesssive swearers just don't have the imagination to think up better descriptive words... ha! Quoting 'MistressT' I do find it offensive when every second word out of a person's mouth is f*ckin'. Such as "We were goin' along the f*ckin' road and this f*ckin' car f*ckin' cuts in front of us" (overheard at the shopping center from a young man of around 18 or 19)

Quoting 'tattoodguy'buddy suck it up ...the english language has been transforming for years and youve only just noticed ,whether you find it insulting or abusive is purely your own perspective, as the younger generation are using such adjectives merely for convenience as it emphasises the statement they are trying to make ,it has become the norm whether you or like it or not ,its not unlike when the first bikini was worn to the beach most were up in arms and now everyone is doing it ,sorry pal its not going to get any better ,but it doesnt mean you have to join in just be more tolerant, you can still go to the beach in your full swimming costume but it is you that is out of place I do so agree with tattoo. Times thay are a changeing

Times thay are a changeing gee.....we do the nude beach thing, so costume would be out of place.the question was never about general use of bad language, it was about women using f and c in places that were inappropriate. like on a council bus in front of school children, or in front of 'senior' citizens. using 'fuck' this and 'cunt' that is out of place, wherever you are and whenever you are in 'mixed' company. and its just so much worse when it comes from the mouth of a female, no matter how 'feral' she may be.

Quoting 'Sidd72' I am not sure why it is that women's speak is being single out here. Is it OK for men to swear up a storm, but not OK for women to use foul language? IS that what the issue is? Woman acting like ladies? I swear far too much, and I know that it is not for every one. Therefore, I try to limit it to the right kinds of circumstances. This place (RHP) seems like the right kind of place to speak freely. For me, swearing loudly on the street, or in a public place where people might be offended, would be crossing a line. However, I would be equally offended by a man or a woman crossing that line. I guess I could be mis-interpretting your question, but it seems to me like you are only concerned about the way women talk. Why is that? Just asking.... What a pussy , you are , trying to suck up to woman with your lame post lol. i think the woman here are to smart for such a bad pick up line , lol

To call me a pussy, and accuse me of trying to pull one over on the women of the forum? Look, I had an opinion, and I posted it. You disagree with it, and that is fine. That is what the forum is for. But post a disagreement to my argument. Don't reduce the discussion to name-calling and accusing me of being insincere or acting with alterior motives. As they say, Opinions are like assholes...everybodies got one. But just because you have one, it doesn't mean that you have to act like one.
