It's so hard when babies (humans or four legged kind) are sick and they can't tell you exactly what's wrong? I've always worried when this has happened to any of my babies, regardless of their age. I was recently away for the weekend and couldn't really enjoy myself properly. My daughter was home with the flu and I couldn't wait to get home to look after her. She's 20 years old and kept telling me there was nothing I could do but I still hated being so far away from her while she was sick.

So glad to hear the public plebiscite is now blocked and dead. The postal vote should be the next thing to get blocked and hopefully marriage equality can 'finally' be freely voted in the lower house.

Quoting 'Mr_MrsAraps'hopefully marriage equality can 'finally' be freely voted in the lower house. That won't happen while the current government is in power, they're too beholden to their extreme right faction, that's why we've had all this shit about plebiscites and postal votes in the first place. Turnbull is a spineless, amoral coward whose only concern is hanging onto the PM'ship and he won't do anything to anger the far right and risk a leadership challenge. Marriage equality will happen, but it will most likely have to wait until Labor are back in power.

The glass half full version of me thinks that the postal vote will be blocked in senate and then supportive LNP MP's and senators will have no other choice but to introduce a bill and hopefully they will cross the floor. The glass half empty version of me thinks (and prob closer to how it plays out) once the postal is blocked the LNP will introduce it without legislation and the ME supportive MP's from LNP wont cross the floor. Then it will end up in the high court challenge which will be going nowhere fast and is just the delaying tactics that the LNP are after till the next election. If by some miracle they win they will stupidly claim that a next election win will be a mandate for no change to marriage act.

Quoting 'Mr_MrsAraps' LD no arguments here on spineless Turnbull who will be remembered for ..... well nothing ... Personally I will remember him and his cronies for plenty... Adani and the Galilee Basin (treading on Aboriginal rights, not conducting a proper and thorough environmental assessment (Rare Skinks, Snakes and Night Birds threatened with extinction from this mine stopped by a court case I contributed money to only to be rubber stamped and back on again with Libs threatening to change environment laws), proposing dumping millions of tonnes of dredge spoil in the Great Barrier Reef reserve zone, corrupting the GBR council with bureaucratic crap causing the scientists to resign in protest, handing out 1 billion dollars to Adani who is a corporate crook in India), NBN disaster, trying to crush the poor, kids unemployment benefit 6 month wait, billions in corporate tax cuts that will go straight offshore, the government that presided over the destruction of the great barrier reef, the selling off of so much of Australia to foreign ownership, the centerlink robo debt fiasco (That they are now extending to senior citizens and the crippled), that more people died in workplace accidents attending compulsory centrelink work for the dole appointments than died in Labors insulation initiative (where is the inquiry into this?), the Murray River water debacle, the Trans Pacific Partnership agreement that handed over our sovereignty to corporations, stagnant wages and business growth for years, underemployment, the closing of steel mills, the closing of canneries, the end of car production in Oz, the importing of pest and disease into Australia by allowing dodgy countries and places with these diseases to import into our markets (Prawns, Bananas, Ants and that Salmon disease from Canada), allowing the banking industry to get off the hook for all their evil deeds, attempting to control unpalatable fair and balanced reporting by the ABC (well if the truth is unpalatable stop what you're doing Libs and be decent people for a change), handing out millions to Rupert for.. what?... Shall I go on? There is more I can add you know! I would now like to add some expletives about how I feel over this current corrupt government, but unfortunately this is a public forum so will refrain. Even if you argue they were not directly responsible for some of the above calamities... where was the leadership, what real action did they take to at least preserve what we have? It's a fast slippery slope under Lib/Nats!

Completely agree with you. I purposefully kept my comment short because I knew if I went further I would end up writing for hours on the corrupt, awful travesty that is our current government. And don't get me started on how most of our mainstream media lets them get away with all their shit (I suppose a $30 million donation to Rupert's empire might be one indication of why they get such a free ride...an action which again was glossed over by most of the other media).

Dutton's mega security behemoth is probably monitoring all these posts and already in the process of finding out our identities for daring to speak ill of our overlords (as well as the identities of those who liked our posts, because that's not allowed either as shown by their latest update to the social media policy for public servants). Watch out for unmarked white vans pulling up close to you in the near future

Quoting 'Sailbadthesinner' The people get the government they deserve. It's not the governments fault it's ours. The voters. I know who I voted for and it certainly wasn't the current government. I know we supposedly live in a democracy (we actually don't but that's a whole other topic), but I'm quite happy to let those who still want these tossers in power to go and set up a separate state of their own somewhere so that the rest of us don't have to suffer as well. Maybe Manus Island or Nauru. I'm sure the locals would welcome them with open arms. Plus there's that whole issue of the government lying their arses off before the elections about what they would and wouldn't do, then turning around and doing the exact opposite once they were in. It's quite likely that at least some of those who voted for them wouldn't have, had they known what their real agenda was (which was obvious to many but let's face it most Australians couldn't give a shit about politics and / or just don't have the time and resources to pay much attention to anything other than the mainstream news bites).

I don't disagree, your preaching to the converted. Governments have been lying since the year dot. But people are giving them a mandate to by voting for the same fuckwits year in year out hence we get what we deserve, my favourite minor party asks me every election to help but I don't. My bad.

It also seems to me at least that too many people seem to view voting as trying to pick the winner rather than voting for who best to represent them. I.e. "Voting for x is a waste of time because they'll never win"

"Voting for x is a waste of time because they'll never win" Recently my eldest son was eligible to vote.. asked me my thoughts.. I said I dont tell you who to vote for, that's your decision, but I will tell you this, do not vote only for yourself, think of your friends, think of your neighbors, consider the environment for your children, unemployed, elderly and sick.. your vote is important for the whole community, what would you choose to impose on your fellow Australians.

I hadn't been to a cinema in ages, so I went to see Dunkirk this morning...after reading a particularly glowing review of it.My opinion is just like the review....it's a spectacle of a film and the musical score is gripping and full-on tension at times...which was the circumstances of the event, I'm sure. It's only PG, so it's not gory or particularly violent....but the pace is go from the first minutes. It doesn't build the characters too much...it doesn't have time...it's all about the events in the air, the sea and on land. it's quite moving at times, and my eyes watered a bit near the end...which wasn't long at only 1hr 45minutes.I recommend, and give it top marks as war movies should be. See it on the big screen.

Re-posting this..... So Proud..... When my beautiful daughter was sweet 16 she wrote me a letter (that was almost 10 years ago) to tell me she was bi, (she later realised she was gay) it didn't and hasn't make any difference because who I see and know is just simply my daughter whom I have loved since she came into my life and have always been there to support her. My son is also gay he has never come out never needed to, same as my daughter it hasn't made any difference as to who I see and know and how much I love him and I will also always be there if he needs my support....can't believe how fast it's gone since they were first wrapped up snug as bugs in their bunny rugs..... Apart from myself and their dad they both have great friends who have never treated them any differently. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A text I sent my son the other day (Friday).... :D Me..... Hey I really like how you and your sister call each other Gaybo and Lesbo Afterthought..... me I wonder how many other families have that option lol probably not a lot but then I could be wrong about that. My son... Haha I wonder My son has well you could say has enlightened/ educated his nan (my mum) about the Gay male lifestyle which I think gave mum a bit of a I don't know if shock is quite the right word but I think that's pretty close though lol... it sure has given us all quite a chuckle when it gets mentioned in conversation ☺ The day when the marriage act changes and same sex marriage finally becomes legal not only will it be good for my son and daughter to have the freedom and legal right to marry if they choose too it will be good for all Australians to legally have the freedom to make that choice also. Cheers Zani :)

It's because we're the enemy, women feel threatened by us. You should see the looks I get, I tell you if looks could kill and the classic distraction when they see a woman approaching who might turn his eye 😉 it shits me and I get so tired of being treated like that, hence why I've never had a moral issue playing with attached. I figure fuck them. Why should I spare a thought for the very people who try to run me over on crosswalks lol I prefer male friends. Being funny and famous did. So if you're having trouble attracting the ladies, try becoming famous".

Depends where you find them, I would report if it appears they are stolen pics. Meander is good at this. I'm hopeless, can't even reverse image search properly. I have reported quite a few profiles with vast differences in the pictures, one looked like a 12 yr old boy in one picture, and a middle aged man in another, they removed the profile. Things like that. If you suspect they are using stolen pics, go ahead and report, and let the mods decide?

Further to cuckandshells post re:anxiety and depression.... Turns out, I have a blister on the back of my left eye that's leaking that yes is affecting the vision but not enough to fail licence requirements. It's apparently found more commonly in people that use illicit substances, steroids(more specifically anabolic), and those who have anxious type personalities. Obviously not entirely restricted to those 3 categories only.... Food for thought for those who are experiencing high stress levels, poor sleep patterns, dietary issues etc....as the only treatment for it, is to remove stress, eat better and have more "me" time....lol yes I did look at the doctor weird and ask "I drive trucks, so for 12-14 hours a day I'm having me time.....how much more do I need?? :p" Then again the nurse that kept putting drops in my eyes to dilate my pupils kept saying "this will make you pretty...." to which I thought "I dunno making me any prettier, but it'll sure help with some that are sitting around me!!! :p" Point is though, the long term affects of stress, can bite your arse in a very physical way if left untreated....

They jumped off and well, I was trying to mind my own business not wanting to get hurt, but it was an aggressive exchange, the guy was denying whatever it was he did, and the other two were big boys omg you wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of them. So did the other guy steal or vandalise, who knows, but if he was and he got caught, no sympathy

Skinnies is the US Marines nickname for Somalian and their neighbours They are generally behind a lot of car jackings, home invasions, shop invasions over here and are out of control. There is a media suppression by the government/police to not report the extent that this ethnic population is involved in crime to prevent backlash in the community
