You take people on face value....pardon the pun. But if you don't take your time to verify details, you're on the path to disappointment, or worse. My pics are all me, and I've never had anyone that didn't look their pics....

Not sure what you mean about taking people at face value? I do most times go through checks myself, but still arrive at the same deception at the other end. So whether or not I undertake proper checks, the point is there is, or seems to be from my experience, a high percentage of men who fudge it. This is commonly more a problem with male profiles, not to say women don't do it (we've heard the odd story about women doing it, but usually they tweak rather than resorting to complete deception). It's likely that's the reason you've never encountered this problem. At least that's my view on it, happy to hear the other side of the coin there. Any women been fudging it guys? Thanks for your coumment

I imagine that you are looking at a lot of profiles and a lot of man message you. So this is partly a law of averages thing. We all know there is fakeness here, some. Profiles more than others. From experience I say ,never invest too much before meeting someone...do the image search, talk on the phone etc don't disclose too much,or do too much sexting until you are confident that he is the real deal and not a fantasist Mr.Grey hugs Q

We have a small group of RHP friends who meet socially as well as at parties. We often laugh about the differences between we have encountered between RHP and reality. There are RHP years, 30 RHP years can be up to about 50 real years. There are RHP inches, you know where that issue is going. There are RHP dress sizes, or maybe there are many American women on here. Single, in RHP, for some, must mean there is one of me, not a marital status. It seems for some in RHP land it would be acceptable for me to describe myself as a 35 year old male model with have a 10inch penis.

Was caught out my very first date from an adult dating site. Didn't recognise him when he turned up. That was over 3 years ago, and I've seen him around, and he still has the same (now very) old pics on his profile. Thanks for the heads up, to a very suspicious man I met on a vanilla site; I know you can do 'live' pics from most phones, where you send a pic taken directly from your camera, rather than pulling them from gallery. Not sure you can on all phones, as I couldn't from my android. As I ended up taking a pic, holding up a piece of paper that said "Hello {so-and-so}". *wonder where I learned that technique from* Summer, I noticed Matthew is still with us. Some people are born to swindle. >,<

Ive said my story before. Chatted and met up with a guy with totally different pics. Not his at all. He didnt think he did anything wrong because "I dont want my pics on the internet for everyone to see", and yes, I walked out and wouldnt stay for"Just one drink".It's just stupid, wastes time, makes you jaded and suspicious of everyone, which I hate being like that. And yes, theres been some that use old pics. Lots of profiles on here and other sites have the same pic for the last few yrs that Ive been on. Why they dont update a newer one baffles me. Probably the best way to avoid it would be to skype. But I dont. I take it to phone, chat and swap more pics. If they make an excuse they have no more pics or phone wont send pics, Im out.

Whenever conversing sight unseen, one should initially stipulate: "If we meet up and you look nothing like your profile pic, then you have to buy me drinks until you do!" You will either be pleasantly surprised, or constantly pissed. Obi1

Far to many people use old pictures of when they thought they looked their best or simply use pictures of someone else altogether. We've reported a number of profiles that used pictures farmed from adult websites or other dating sites and complained about the fact that RHP does not double check pictures but understand that they probably get 100's per day and that it would be very time consuming. If we noticed any inconsistencies in pictures of people we are talking to we ask them straight up and if they don't have a fair answer we simply cut communication with them, not our loss there is plenty of genuine people that wan't to play. The using old pictures routine is not just men either quite a number of women and couples do it too. As far as we are concerned if you don't want your picture up on a dating site keep them in private, using a picture that resembles you is not ok and we have shown up to meets with an expectation of somebody looking like their picture only to find the picture was close to 10 years old and promptly told them to fuck off. Our pictures are genuine and expect the same from potential playmates. I'm sure most of you seasoned swingers & players know how to reverse search an image but for the newbies and such... You can reverse image search using google reverse image or our favourite is a website called "tineye".

Yeah I've not been here long and twice I've had people turn out to be totally different to their first few pictures. I think being a single guy make's it even harder, as most of the real women here think you are just a fantasist/pic collector when you start to ask for more pictures to verify. - Posted from rhpmobile

We have come across quiet a few profile/gallery pics that don't match to this day. What makes me giggle is when someone cams and I think hang on a minute, your pics are from 20 years ago...bit obvious Apart from we update most of ours with new recent pics every few months (as a good photo comes along lol)we also cam and show our faces and well maybe a few other things too, no surprises here. Possibly why we like private parties and group events

And people will tell you what you want to hear. Example of that is a recent hookup, both if us have safe sex,"always" on our profile, so I didnt mention it because I assumed we were on the same page. Fast forward to the "dirty deed" getting into it and I mention I have condoms in my bag. "Oh no, I dont use condoms, I cant feel anything and cant cum"..... Everything halted as we discussed our differences. It ended with me getting dressed and leaving because,"I was being a little over dramatic about it and hes never caught anything in all his time online so he's safe" Sorry for going off topic Touch, but it just goes to show that taking someone at "face value" as Stirry is saying is wrong way to go about vetting, is all we can do. If they lie, we will find out eventually. Pic or words. Just wastes time and is pointless.

both men and women do it. but because I search only for single men, I do see it happen a lot with men. I do try to vet their pics and check their friends. I normally will not even go down revealing too much of myself or trust too much until I am certain they are who they say they are. Many ways to do it. Thank goodness for technology. Although... There is this one blond Melbourne girl, 29, who has 275 friends, most are men and the4 occasional couple, who appears in almost all the friends lists of men who contact me. She has blocked me. Anyway, when I asked the gents about her, they just get a friends request from her and when in contact, they just get referred to a link offline or are asked to forward their emails... I smell a scam but the men are so blinded by the hot blond Bella on the profile, reason goes out of the window... Oh the men..... bless their horny hearts...

Thanks to you all, and wow, Matthew McConaughy? I'll be like a dog with a bone now, top shelf Yes the forum has revealed a few interesting ones. One local or country boy let's say looked nothing like the model from the ad in his pictures that one was a bit obvious but I played along for a bit, naughty girl. Q, how true, hadn't thought about the law of averages but it has been busy in the last month or so. I've heard other women say the same, all over Australia. Our country is getting hornier lol Plenty of Mr Grey's floating around in perth, I give you the tip. Pepper, yeah I'm still doing that and still scare some off but only way I can think of to be able to trust and move forward, sad isn't it? DP I'm equally baffled about the old pictures still up and on different sites, I just don't get that either. Max raises an interesting point about men being looked at as picture collectors, I'd never thought about that but can imagine it would be a problem at times if you have to ask for more. Adelaide, well said, loved your post and love your firm stand on deceit, their pictures may have grey areas, but the trust thing is black and white for me too. If any of this shit sneaks in, seeya later. horneycouple I don't do the cam thing but if if you're comfortable doing it, it's a great way to get a real vision, for sure. QLDtwo if I was a 35 year old male model with a 10inch penis, I'd never leave the house

The guy/girl should not be offended, instead be flattered. I understand that if they want to keep it private (don't want the missus to know, protect career prospects) but to some degree, if you intend to be intimate with someone, in every way, then you need to reveal yourself so as not to waste somebody's time, like your numbskull did with you. Truly annoying, eh, when we could be having hanging-off-the-chandelier sex with somebody else. Also a lot of the times, vetting can reduce the number of sexual encounters we want, coz we are picky and too clever for our own good. Lol Ahh, the curse of having taste and a lofty acute intellect.... eeekk.

You're going to have issues with men, as I'm unaware of you meeting women to fuck....and I'm not trying to be offensive, but the context of the meet I think plays a huge part of how much we notice about others. I'm not denying men fudge it, fucken oath some do..... But the more people you meet, and how willing you are to meet masses of people, the more people will think they can get away with. I'm sorry if you think I'm being condescending or trying to shame you in some way, it's not my intention, but John West was known for what he rejected more than what was in his tins. Probably a piss poor analogy, but fuck it, it's the best I had at the time :) - Posted from rhpmobile

Since it is so easy to open a camera up so some one can tell what you are really like in the looks department why would not ask some one to open their camera for you. If you find a guy who will not open his camera up then you have to start thinking mmmm something is not quite right here. From what I know if you ask a guy to cam he will normally strip faster than it takes the cam to load. Equally if you want to check his ability to make accurate measurements so you go "Hi can you show me your cock on cam..." I am here to say that 99% of guys wil go shit yes here have a look... LC

I was over Kalgoorlie way a few years back. I had met with a driver at the pub to have a few drinks on our 24 hour break. Anyways, the pub was pretty cracking and I needed a piss. So as I'm standing at the urinal, cock in hand, getting my fingers wet lol, I happened to look over and notice a dark skinned guy with a white dick.. I was fucking amazed that that was even possible....so I've burst out to where my colleague was and told him about the dark skinned guy with a white dick.. His reply "that's not a black guy with a white dick *chuckles* that's just a miner that's been home for afternoon tea!!!" :p Lol - Posted from rhpmobile

I would find it to be a big betrayal of trust, as on a site like this you can only trust what the person uploads in the pictures. Is they can't be honest about how they look, what else are they lying about? Hopefully I never come across this, as the 2 women I have met have been honest, but should this happen, well I will feel the same way you felt

Everybody wants to be desired.. to be happy I guess.. But to be anything more than who you are today just isn't quite right. I am very aware that Brad Pitt & I aren't related.. lucky to be the same species sadly.. but I am what you see and what I say. It may seem easy to put someone else's picture in your profile, but just imagine how hurt you're going to feel when the person/people you're meeting say "no thanks". Time to be real with yourself I guess.. what are you wanting from RHP?? pictures or fun? Pictures that aren't you.. Couples profiles that are really single guys.. Personally I'm tired of being doubted because of other people.. Not all guy profiles are fake, but geez

Yes, if only everyone felt that way. Those individuals make it hard for all men to be taken as genuine, same as the ones who respond badly to polite rejection. I had that happen last night and have so many come into the forum and express frustration directed at me, though that's not obvious to others, I'm sure that happens to others in here as well. But it's poor form and puts women on the back foot, if that makes sense. So nice to hear there are still good ones flying the flag for our beloved men 😃

That's a great start and good for him. Well done. You said you didn't realise the effect it had on people but this thread made you realise how wrong it is. So good to see the positive come from this. My profile. Re: Pictures. What you see is what you get. If I am having a first meet, I say "You will spot me easily. I am the guy that looks exactly like my profile". As I have posted previously, I recommend using something like KiK to share a current selfies. It is true that some of my pics are dated, but I include a photo taken date on many of my pics to make that known. BTW - "My old boat" means that it is an old pic of my boat that is long gone.😖 I included it just to clarify what I mean by "seeking fun & adventure". Re: About me. Same same. Detailed, candid and honest. My wife left me for a woman. Some would say that may turn some women off, but why should it? It was nothing to do with me. She still calls me the perfect man. I state openly that I work FIFO, 26 on & 9 off. Re: Messaging. I typically start by saying that I am very open book and will answer any questions as honestly and completely as I can. Recently I was asked, for the first time, a question that prompted this post by way of answering publicly The question: "Don't take offence at this but you're not 39. How old are you really?" The answer: 49. That is correct. I lied about my age...big time. How can I be so hypocritical after professing openness and honesty? It was a decision that I made when I set up my profile and it has always bothered me because it is a deceit. So why did I do it to start with? Several reasons: 1) I am one of the fortunate ones that hold my age well. Good genes I guess. I am younger looking and certaining younger acting than my peers who are in their 30s to early 40s. Most people guess me to be in that age group and are quite surprised to find out that I am much older. I don't think that you are as old as you feel. You are as old as you act (everyday). I run rings around my peers and still love riding the shopping trolleys down the aisles. 😁 2) A lot of the woman on RHP professing to be in their 40s look older than my mother, who is in her 70s. Are they lying about their age or did they just not age well? So I considered (at the time) that I was balancing the scales to a large extent. 3) Does it really matter? There are many couples on RHP that have a 15 year or so age gap. I think that is more about how old you are in yourself. Age is numbers is a poor reflection of that for many. Some people are far younger than their years and some are far older than their years. 4) The age filtering on RHP generally puts those over 45 in the retirement home where you have little hope of ever getting a chance. That being said, think that it is much easier for woman in the over 45 bracket to get attention than it is for guys. So what do I do now? I am going to change it.

Quoting 'SNAG4XTC' 3) Does it really matter? It does to me. I wouldn't be interested in someone who had lied about their age by 10 years. Also, I will be honest and say that previously after looking at your profile I didn't believe that you were 39 either. As someone stated earlier, our impressions of ourselves are often quite different and not always accurate. That's two women who realised you were most probably not being honest about your age so it's a pretty safe bet that there were more. At least you're being honest now, so that's good.

My main profile photo may not be the most recent, which I state in my about me section, and have recent photos, in my private gallery. The main reason, I have kept the 4yr old photo as my profile image is because I think it is a good photo. I haven't put on any weight since then and it gives me an incentive to try to keep that fit. I don't see the point in lying in a profile as you will always be found out. In my mind I'll always be 40 but with an extra few years added on top!

I met someone from here many years ago Initially we didn't meet for like for a year as we lived in different states, but eventually our schedules allowed us to meet in a transit lounge at the airport He landed first and he went to meet me at my gate. I walked straight past him. Yes he looked like his pictures except for some small details. He had lost a fair bit of his hair , that happens, but he wore glasses permanently and in his haste to get to the gate, he forgot to take them off and change to contacts. I didn't know this about him as he never sent me any pics with him wearing his glasses so I simply didn't recognize him. When I finally figured it out it was all very confusing for a few moments, cause the thing is, I wear glasses about 90 percent of the time too and didn't wear them getting off the plain cause I was too self conscious. Same same, Id never sent him any pics with glasses on, except may be wearing sunglasses which are prescription. . He is one of those people that glasses really suit him and he looks very different when he takes them off and wears contacts. He wears very trendy glasses that add personality and highlights his features. My glasses are practical and dowdy so they don really change my face that much Bot of us are blind as bats without them. And after a few moments of initial confusion and laughs, we fell into our normal rapport built up over a year and we are friends still today.

With my spelling mistakes, I should have perhaps worn glasses when posting. I'm getting worse and worse The thing is, I used to wear glasses for long distance, but I'm now realizing that my eye sight is deteriorating rapidly. I had my eyes tested a few weeks ago and I was shocked at how much they have changed in 2 years, especially my right eye, genetic apparently. I've ordered new glasses and have been told that I will have to wear them more and more for close-up work and god forbid they are multi focal. I read my phone now like my parents read everything But Ill be honest, I don't think I will ever send a photo of me to anyone, wearing glasses and yes for people who wear glasses 100 percent of the time, I do believe when they take them off and do the switch to contacts, like my friend, they do look totally different. I like glasses, I find them interesting, just not on me.

it is one thing to have a fake pic of some unknown as your profile pic and another thing to have a pic of a famous guy like Matthey M on their profile. What the hell are they thinking? So today, a hot guy was looking at my profile. Abs galore and smoldering looks. Too good to be true. Yeah it's a joke isn't it? What are they thinking? Good work for bringing them to the attention of others on here. Some are obvious, some aren't, and it's a great help Lily I seriously doubt they're coming all the way to Australia to meet I_touch lol even my vanity doesn't stretch that far

Here's some irony. I had a message from this guy who told me I looked like someone famous, but he couldn't tell me who?? Thought that a bit odd so didn't reply. Then I must have delved further and I can't remember exactly, can't find the messaging now, but I think I was of the opinion his pictures weren't of him, quite possibly a famous person lol maybe he thought I was one of his old connections (emphasis on 'old' there) All just seemed a bit strange at the time, although guys quite often send cryptic messages just to get a response. Surely he didn't really think I had stolen pics up. Nobody can steal that many pictures

just reported another 2 profiles. Really big pixels and movie star looks, along with about a 20 yr discrepancy age to looks and a different age stated in the written part of course. Then I got to the nude yew I've never seen body hair like that. I don't think there'd be enough razors in the world to cut through that. Maybe he's a werewolf by night and that was his night picture

With some guys who are over generous with face pics. A whole series of portraits. One with a beard, one with a stubble look, long hair, short hair. Dark hair, silver hair. Which one is going to turn up......... Prob the bald one with the beer gut.

The sin problem IMO is tHAT SOME People are delusional, they genuinely believe that they haven't aged in the last 10-15years.So it wouldn't matter if there was a moratorium on "fixing" their pics it just wouldn't occur to them that it means them. Others I know for sure think nobody will want to meet them if they tell the truth. I often see pics of men who look at least ten years older than their stated age.Q

Yes, I saw a man on the forum a few days ago, looked at the age, late 40's I think, then looked at the pictures, couple's profile it was, and there's no way that dude was in his 40's. I swear he looked 20 year older. Who are they trying to kid?And you're so right about the deluded ones not knowing it's them we're talking about, the ones who don't think they've changed WRONG People tell me I look years younger, whatever. I don't, the simple fact is that I AM my age and I LOOK my age. I might look pretty fit, look after myself, but I AM and LOOK my age and there's no hiding that, I don't want to hide it. Anyone saying they look years younger is deluded. You might think you do, no-one else will, that's the truth, but they'll tell you what you want to hear. What I don't get is why other people can't feel the same way and follow that example. And it's not just men, I can't even be friends with women if they lie, because one lie leads to another, I need to be able to trust. I recently made the decision not to befriend someone or to put a stop to a friendship forming for exactly that reason. Am I unrealistic with what I expect from people? Maybe I am, but I get to go home with me at the end of the day and I'll take my own company over someone I have to be second guessing, every time

Thanks Mr Urn. I love reading your comments, always polite but highlighting important issues, you are a joy to have in the forum, and thanks for the compliment I don't think they realise how offensive and how angry it makes honest people feel, and how like you say, a normally placid and calm person can turn into something quite different, perhaps after wasting hours, days, weeks, it's usually the time thing that makes my blood boil, along with the lack of respect. So we go through all the back and forth messaging, getting more pictures etc., only to find out they aren't in fact who we thought they were, female was a male, young male was an old male, guy in his 40's had escaped from the nursing home lol or the couples who are men, and I'll throw in my joke of men posing as men How is it they think it's okay to waste our time? How dare they. It makes me feel so violated. I really think it's a sick thing for them to do, but as Q pointed out, they don't realise that, they don't see the problem. Thanks Mr UrnI hope you're doing well and keeping Mrs Urn warm on these cold winter nights. I have my feather doona

slightly off topic here but what about NO pictures. I keep getting flirts and messages from profiles with no pictures, just received 5 flirts from a guy with not one single picture on his profile ?? Seriously, do they really expect any person would reply. And I get messages from men with pictures in private but not giving me access and again, do they expect a reply. I don't talk to visionless profiles, ever. One does wonder who they are and what they actually look like if they don't want to show themselves hmm

I actually saw my wife-to-be (and now ex) at a local Rock n Roll function. I was leaving because there were no single ladies within 20 years of my age (30) at the time. Someone stopped me and said "Why don't you dance with her". I looked where he was pointing and saw a girl sitting with her younger brother. I said "No thanks" and left, pondering "How could he suggest that I dance with such a young girl. That is just wrong". Later I found out that the 8 year boy beside her was in fact her son. And personally, now when people say "You got kids?" and I reply "Well a 28 year old", they look at me like they think that I am taking the piss and say "No way".

Yeah I find them a bit creepy, in fact I find any profile without pictures creepy. With the exception of new people who need a few days or whatever to get sorted and find out about the site. Beyond that, when they start hitting on people without showing themselves, yeah nah, there's something downright weird about that IMHO

Ok so here it goes. I've been caught a few times by fake pics or really old pics or lies about height, just your standard stuff. this last one though was very different. We met through a bust group that I have, he was introduced by another member. We chatted as a group for months, then one day he sent me a private message. A conversation started and a connection was made. We talked on the phone for 5 hours the first time and then everyday after that for at least 30 minutes, it became a daily ritual. We video chatted, exchanging pics and all was good. After weeks of this he arranged to come to Brisbane (he lives in Sydney)so we could meet. We spent 24 hours together and all was sweet. There was a strong connection. The weekend after we met was Mother's Day, he was spending the weekend with his mum and kids at the family home/property 50 minutes for Melbourne. We texted all weekend and he sent pics of where they were and what was around. These pics were of the house and cows and the family cemetery and each one had a story. While I was telling my mum about this man I couldn't remember the name of the town where he said the house was so I thought, I'll reverse image search it, he had said it was used for some functions now it's sure to come up....it sure did...as a house in Adelaide in the grounds of the SA UNI. I was confused, I was pretty sure he had said Melbourne. At first I thought I must have it wrong, then I thought, I'll just run these other pics..... Well. All of the pics came up from places all over the world. Some were just small pieces of much larger pics. The cemetery where he said his grandparents are buried and his wife and little girls ashes are spread is in the USA. Even the pics of the cows are from some Angus stud in the USA. Yes I asked him about the pics, no he had no explanation. He really didn't answer it at all. Why would he do this? What was the purpose? We had met, we seemed to have a really strong connection. Is everything he told me a lie? Is it possible to come back from this? I still don't have any answers to those questions and I probably never will. So how do you trust after that? Anyone, not just him?

Omg that's shocking, disturbing. The thing with liars is it becomes normal for them, one lie leads to another. As far as coming back from it, that's the hard bit, particularly after you've made that strong connection. It hurts, even smaller lies hurt when you trust a person. What starts with a feeling of disappointment, for me, turns to anger pretty quickly. It's a low act to deceive like that, your guy takes the trophy though for extra effort 🏆 wow! Did he offer any reason, guess that would have just been more lies. Puzzling though isn't it?

At some point we all want to trust another person. You met him and you had a strong connection. What more can you do...no matter how much we want to believe in others, there will always be some that areperpeptual liers.
