Venting

January 28 2015

I have read a few posts and noted that some people occasionally like to vent (fair enough and probably good for the constitution). My vents are that the last 4wks I have had to work 10-12 hrs days, due to the industry I work in and the weather, also because of the weather, the grass is growing way to fast and I therefore need to mow the damn lawns more often than I have time What are your "Vents", if any, or are you happy with everything in life. (just fun general vents and complaints about life in general, not serious), Could be Politics, sex, partners, weather, work, kids, parents, friends (or lack of), the cost of beer, wine, or salami !!!! anything.

Quoting 'PeachyPearL' I live in Perth and visited Melbourne over the weekend, unfortunately my luggage didn't make the flight. So I ended up in light underclothes, a light body suit, coat, scarf with poncho type over top and wait for it, thongs for the duration of my trip. I'd swapped them for the boots I'd been wearing during the time I'd picked up and dropped off my bag for the next flight, LOL. I can tell you, waiting on the tarmac for that 7 am plane on the way home was, cold. My tits were fine but my extremities, not so much! Lucky you are not a brass monkey :-).... (like to see though pictures of the affect the cold had on your "tits" )

Go check out Meander's pic, I have been all day. :-P .Your profile says Sydney Annie, I passed through there, it was nowhere near as bitterly cold as when I stepped off the plane in Melbourne lol. I HATE it when a TV show ends and leaves everything up in the air on purpose for the possibility of another season (which I also didn't know was the case until after after finishing it, googling desperately for some answers, and finding an obscure forum thread about it). Made me laugh just imagining it, what are they, what do the do ???, (another word I haven't heard in awhile). Anyway, another nearly as bad. When you are watching a great movie / programme on TV, gets to an exciting bit, goes to an advert, and they come back after the advert with the credits. (after you have just sat through the adverts waiting to see what happens next. WTF. HATE that.

Quoting 'xKiwiBredx' Who or what takes chickens, brutally pulverising them in the process? Is 'dog' not the correct answer? They put down my first dog as a kid because it got into a chicken coop and tore it up fierce. And the generally wisdom where I was from was that once a dog gets a taste for chicken, it won't stop with one coop.

  • RHP

    RHP User

I ruled out a dog as my yard is pretty much dog proofed in that if one is in, it can't get out and vice versa. Whatever it was must have been hungry - 4 two year old chickens in one sitting! Unfortunately that 'general wisdom' is still very much alive and kicking, despite now knowing better. I certainly won't be going down that road should it turn out to be a dogs doing.

Cats I reckon.if it was at night I dont think it would be a hawk. Was thinking dingo's because they killed mine a few yrs ago.And they are clever, can climb wire fencing. But they took mine out of the coop area and pulverised them in the open land next door. Carcasses and feathers everywhere. So if they were still in your yard, I would suspect some feral cats perhaps.

I appreciate that and they're a likely suspect as well ;p I'm not in danger of losing any more (there's no more to take). It's just that if I know what I'm dealing with I can take appropriate measures to ensure the protection of any future ones that come to stay.

There were no carcasses to speak of, there were just tiny clusters of blood, feathers with clumps of flesh still attached in four locations around the yard. Thanks again everyone, very much appreciated. I shall proof their home against all of the above, just in case.

Thanks again everyone, very much appreciated. I shall proof their home against all of the above, just in case. Not sure what time of day they disappeared, sounds like fox but generally they only attack first or last light, and any chickens should be locked up by then, or dogs (some dogs can jump 3-6 foot fences. They have to have big enough mouths to chomp up a chicken. I have seen dogs chase / kill chickens during the day, or foxes at dusk. Lock them up before dusk or check dog proofing. (Also seen ferrets cause that damage during the day and night but that was in NZ and not sure if you have ferrets where you are)

not sure where to start actually. Maybe I'll just label today - and I'm betting most of next week - as a shitty time ahead. My awesome boss left last week. Staff member No. 1 is taking 1-2 days off every week and there is nothing I can do about it and I am very, very worried about her. Another staff member is drowning under her workload but I can't help her as intended because of the continual absences of No. 1. One other is exhibiting signs of being a nutcase of the first order... and my tolerance for nutters is not very high at the moment The big boss decided that I did deserve a payrise for the first time in 3 years but opted for 3% instead of the 11.5% recommended by my immediate boss. I've spent most of today working at home - so not what I want to do on a beautiful Melbourne day. And that's just the work stuff. Don't want to even think about some of the personal stuff. Driving behind this 4-wheel drive on the way home. It was going a bit slow and I was looking to pass. It came to a section of straight road where there is a separate lane on left so you can pass cars turning right. Car in front turned left indicator on. I thought it must be turning left up a driveway. It stayed in right lane. I thought they must have wanted a wide turn to get into the driveway on left, contemplated overtaking on right but double lines, all of a sudden it turned right up another road. If they had indicated right I could easily have past it in the other lane on the left instead of having to slow to 10km/hr. Useless b'tards

I'm ambivalent at best about it. I've just seen too many people use it as an excuse to spout bigotry and prejudice, and to justify their right to do so without any consequences or anyone calling them out on it. Even in less controversial contexts it seems to be trotted out more as a way of shutting down others' legitimate opinions. I know that's not Fry's fault, and I'm sure he wouldn't support some of the ways it's now being used.

I was having a general vent about the use of that quote because I see it so much online, not just on here. Your comment happened to remind me of it, it wasn't meant to be a continuation of the difference of opinion in Meander's thread.

Well this maybe a contradictive vent as I have not read all the posts but I am a bit tired of the same threads appearing. The why is this site not working for me, what is wrong with my profile, body image, too fat too thin etc. Ahhhh that's better

Try being here for years. New people join every day though, and I think it's only logical they have the same questions you and I did when we first joined the site. We all started somewhere, right? And even if they do know how to search for the right forum tags, do you blame them for wanting personal responses to their own threads? It's only when the same members post near identical topics a short time apart (hoping for different answers perhaps) that I find it annoying personally.

Yeah I guess I didn't take that into consideration. Thanks for helping me think a little clearer Meander. I suppose I did join to find friendship/companionship before anything else.

Is re double standards men have when it comes to pubic hair. they sprout on about preferring a bare pussy and hair free arse to play with but they have hairy balls they expect to have sucked and licked and a hairy little arsehole they want your tongue in. now for me personally I actually don't mind hair but I am sick of the double standard and guys NO I am not shaving or waxing my pussy for you. Take my magnificent cunt they way it is!

*slow clap* Hear, hear! Hairy subject that I'll happily join in to vent on. I was actually hoping Anastasia would bring back the bush but I'm still hearing men talk about baldies. Bald genitals, to me, are ones that haven't seen puberty, so it bothers me a little that some people want us to look the way pre-pubescent children do. As a tweenage girl, my friends and I would inspect our bits daily in the hope of sprouting a darkie, and report to each other on said progress. When it happened it was a thrill, something amazing and beautiful, something that meant I was becoming a woman. I'm a bit sad that we have lost that thrill and forget to be proud of our pubes. I totally concur missy, if anyone has an issue with our pubic hair, they are not worthy.

Well no, I'm not a man. I'd never ask or expect a man to shave anyway, your body, your business. Just like I want mine to be mine.

We can't even point out that all of an OP's photos are borrowed from the net without all our comments being deleted? Nothing nasty was said. So much for creating awareness for all the fake pics and profiles on here (and I'm still seeing many). Bullshit.
