Limit the posts, have a little quota we can use each day/week? Who could be bothered, and what would really be the point; stifle comment, discourage debate and free thought? "CONTROL" is the word which springs to mind. At least the 'offenders' are offering an opinion which is what forums are all about. The same opportunity exists for all, and the individual is the one who decides if they wish to take up that opportunity. I've seen virtually every regular forumite "forum bomb" at some point in their time on the site. Let's not be under the illusion that we haven't.

I like my version of 'control' rather than the one I've come across in the forums more than once, where a group gets together and suggests that if this was Big Brother, they could vote people off. With the obvious suggestion of Who that would be. I've also had forumites try to 'control' what I call conversation but something they've deemed something else altogether. .And I already think some of the forum bombing can "stifle comment, discourage debate and free thought". Too much of it comes across as too personalised rather than about the actual topic to me. .I'd be a liar if I said I'd never bombed a thread. I was thinking of myself also at the time of my post. I accidentally deleted my comment to you when I refreshed the page DeepestPurple. Anyway... .I did have a quick google for 'forum limitations' and came across a few bits and pieces..The EuroGamer forum had a funny thread on the topic where I wondered if the numbers they were talking could possibly be real, lol. Eg: 45 threads per 1 day, 27 posts per 60 seconds, 540 posts per hour !.Another site had limitations that allowed you access to different sections of the site as you posted more. Haha, I liked the idea of how that would encourage more actual posters. Obviously not something we'd be seeing on this site, more's the pity..I'd like to think I'd become more mindful and think twice before pushing that button that I've said everything I wanted to say, because that is one of my biggies! I'd also imagine RHP would have to allow some level of editing of posts for those people who like to fix their typos. .Hmm, like it's ever going to happen... cheers,Peachy.

Limiting the number of posts? Naaah thanks. I agree with KissK. I am not a fan of censorship. Who is to say what is that magic number of posts, what is that number and on what basis was that number derived from, and will it guarantee that it will curve the 'behaviour ' of people and to whose standards? What may be acceptable in number and type of behaviour to one may not sit well with another. All arbitrary. Sounds like the 'animal house' approach to the forum? I find it ironic that you have opened up a couple of the old Anything threads and posted prolifically in them and also in other threads. If the mod did follow your suggestion, then would they have curtailed your posts as well. Surely what is good for the goose is also good for the gander? What is the point of opening up the old Anything threads (which is your right and ok with that) , which in my opinion does no really pose any advantage for anyone unless you want us to look at something in those threads? Are we missing something?

I don't see anything wrong with it. Happens every now and again within the forums. As well as that I've seen (and I've done it myself) post links to topics/forums, yes they have reopened. I don't really see an issue with this one opening again or other old topics. Ms Foxy

I think my post to Kissk covers a lot of what is being questioned. >>> I've reiterated my intitial post, though Foxy's mention of forum bombing (which google tells me can be as little as one comment, the meaning being more about the effect of what it achieves) is what has been the focus by other posters. I included how SOME of the 'forum bombing' comes across to me. I've admitted thinking about myself at the time of my post. . I'd say censorship is practised whenever someone tells anyone else what, how, or where they should be posting. .Lily, specifically. I opened old 'Anything' threads for several reasons. Nothing to do with having anyone look at anything though. My reasons are many and complicated, and based on experience, and probably boring to most, lol. I have a complicated mind as do we all. :-) . I didn't even come back to this one last night to say that the groundhog died. I saw a twitter article about it yesterday. I feel bad now. Peachy

I post here because it is a thread about whatever we like. And I have never been one of the crowd. Not for as long as I can remember. It means nothing. It has no import. It is simply a place to share my thoughts that don't fit anywhere else. And bumping up threads is one way to keep myself occupied when I am finding the forums less then exciting. .It can be fun seeing who might turn up out of the blue because they were following a thread. I have a fondness for RHPers who are still who they have always been dropping in and saying hi... they are a part of the story of our forums. Peachy :-)

They are all hilarious and entertaining and yep - I watch the show (ducks for cover) Kris Jenner has helped her children build an empire. Whether they are worth watching or their products worth using is up to the individual. Would I buy their products? No. But I find watching the show a scream! Sometimes for their gutter trash talk and sometimes for their stupid things they do. And the dynamics between them all. They are definitely famous for doing nothing - yet work extremely hard at the same time. They haven't won a Nobel prize that's for sure. But it takes a lot of hard work, skill and dedication to do what they've done. And if they enjoy it - I wish them all the best. They are famous for a reason - some people love them and some people hate them. Would I do it? No way! I would only ever want to be known for something that's changed some of worlds more pressing issues. It would give me no satisfaction otherwise.

I have always loved my red hair with it's beautiful copper shades that glisten in the sunlight, unfortunate with getting older the colour and shades are not the same now :( I have tried to get as close to my natural colour when getting it coloured but it is impossible to achieve...........it would be great if they had hair dyes that matched our natural colour with 100% accuracy...I for one would love that, if only it was a possibility.

That when I make a mistake, I apologise fully and completely to the friend in question and expect to be able to move on, with her blessing. But the reason she told me she is not coming back has nothing to do with what you have said here Meander... More along the lines of the continuous presence She tried to warn forumites about, that she told me not to bother about... because no one will care. And she's right. And for that, I apologise publicly for not supporting my friend in the past when she was being harrassed. Peachy

Messaging has been glitchy the last few days. Had a few failed messages from the one guy where there's a blank message title line, a wider/deeper highlighted area, and his user name sits at the far right side on top of the date. Bizarre, I've never seen that. Interesting that it has only happened with some of his messages, no others. I might suggest he contacts support about it. Messaging from the mobile app maybe but surely others would be using that too?

'cause i thought it could be a good filler inner for anything and everything. Still do. I learnt a long time ago to Shut the Fuck Up about many comments on the forums and rarely now comment on those who havent learnt when to shut the fuck up. I learnt by not replying to their comments they end up just looking silly....with out any input from me... I like that. If others also learnt not to respond to certain forum topics by particular people on the forums... ignoring their poor behaviour is far more gratifying. Just let them rant and chat amongst themselves and their posts will just fade out.............................................

To think that maybe a dose of positivity might make any difference. Leave them alone on the thread they are enjoying. Join in when times are good. There haven't been enough of them lately. So much is opposite to that. Don't talk to them, deride them with passive aggressive comments instead. Stir them up.
