whats cooking - good looking x

March 04 2015

Is there anyone else out there that likes to cook? I like to cook, however whether I am any good at it I really am not sure. I don't get to sit down very often and watch television, but when I do I tend to watch "My Kitchen Rules" MKR I was talking to a friend the other day about what they would serve for Entree Main & Dessert... I have no idea what I would cook. Im am sure dessert would be along the lines of sticky date pudding or home made icecream. If you already do have dinner parties or if you were going to have one - what would you cook???

Comes to mind after seeing your profile pic ;) served up with some pierogi filled with cabbage an fried up, yummo, not sure anyone would want to be around the next day though =====))))) I like to cook also, and never watch tv so it's cook books or google god for me, I like to go with a theme, so Chinese would be, spring rolls and treasure bags , pain stakingly hand made, then fried rice, pork fillet n carrot for mains, have to have some honey sesame chicken in there too, desert would be deep fried mars bars , I don't usually eat anything deep fried or smothered in chocolate, but this would be a super treat ;)

I don't make the time as much now tho. And I usually bake all the stuff that's no good for you! Lots of sweets and cakes and pastries and breads etc I always found it to be quite relaxing, almost meditative. The kids loved it and visitors were treated to a smorgasbord with their cuppas :)

Hubby would cook a BBQ, with a traditional Greek flavour. Our 15 year old had her birthday recently and asked her dad to cook his special BBQ chicken wings. There would be salads, my favourite is a bocconcini, sundried tomato and basil pasta salad and a spicy rice salad. I am a dessert queen and in winter I'm with you cheeky, sticky date pudding, any other time it is hubby's favourite, my homemade cheesecake, red velvet cake or a yummy Apple crumble! And the new pic is seriously HOT Mr Cheeky! Mary xx

Love to cook, and love my charcoal Bbq, its just the best way to cook/smoke. My emphasis is on fresh whole foods, weaning myself off processed carbs and heading a bit more Paleo.Favourite foods ? Steaks, seafoods, raspberries, ashed Chevre. Micro brewed beers, yep beer is a food group !

We love seafood so our menu would go something like this... Entrée - Fragrant curried scallops and coconut crumbed prawnsMain - Thai baked salmon on sweet potato mash with a mango salsaDessert - Decadent chocolate mouse with fresh raspberries and King Island double cream You can lick your dessert bowl as long as it's a sexy performance ;)

Some of the most memorable times for having a bunch of friends sitting around the table, Steamboat nights. An electric frypan works well in the centre of the table with a stock simmering away. Scattered about the table plates of prepared foods, fine slice assorted raw meats, vegetables, wombuck lettuce, ginger, capsicum, onion, carrots and bamboo shoots'n grassy looking things. Everyone has a bowl for rice and saucers for sauces, soy and wasabi mustard mixed, or satay spice and chilli, seafood sauce, Everyone just tosses in the bits and pieces to be cooked in seconds, wire net spoon thingies for scooping out the tucker and just dabble with this and that over a few hours of banter and laughter never really feeling bloated from eating a big meal all at once, so the energy rises and rises for a really jovial atmosphere, balanced with a bit of a sip on the plonk, some fruits and nuts and cheeses and spiced gerkins and what eva really, deep fried cauliflower heads bite size and fresh squeezed lemon juice to dip them in (sensational). Perhaps some pumkin pie with a dollop of whipped cream. The way it works is everyone brings some food stuff for the steamboat, wine, beer, cider and a bottle or two of liqueurs and mix cocktails, eat, get horny and flirt, banter, laugh into the early hours of next morning, sneak off and have a quick root when moments arise. Long live the quickie amongst the excitement. Mado Tara xx

stress and crying on cooking (not to mention building) shows these days. I don't ever recall seeing that on Big Huey's Cooking Adventures :) But I'm good at cooking BBQs and NOT burning anything...
