we all have new toys but ...

August 12 2011

Yes we all seem to have new toys .... well most of us at least .. we could have the Nokia E3 or the E5, a HCT, a Blackberry or even an IPhone ... with such new toys we can access the internet for websites and emails very much like we do with our desktop and laptop computers, just in different locations.... My question here is .. with the desktop and laptops - one can be prone to getting virus and worms thru thier system, and as such eveyone needs to have a good quality functioning antivirus softwere and antispywere and antispamwere programs .. BUT is it possible to get these same VIRUS's on our PHONES>.. Maybe some of the more savy IT specialists here might be able to give me a correct answer on this ..

Nice one celebree. :) I recently got the iphone4 and found out that I can't lock the screen when I am on call so I keep accidentally putting the person on speaker. Anyone know how I can fix that?Oh and to those people that I keep bugging all day on Facebook I am sure I will get over the novelty of my new phone very soon and will leave you alone fairly soon. My own personal fuck book... RHP you should allow three way or group conversations on here.xxMeeka

I used a bluetooth earpiece all the time so I don't have that problem :)

anything( phones. pads, etc etc) that has a software and is able to go in online mode is vulnarable to visuses... You can get protection for iphones, and androids....

The iPhone uses a Mac O/S and as such is quite bulletproof and particularly is you continue to use the assigned Safari browser. It also appears that there are no known issues for downloading MP files to this phone regardless of source. | That said, the Symbian platform such as the E5 could not fare as well...they have now approved several free a/v programs. Scan through the apps available for Nokia. | The bigger issue you may face is when you are synching or docking with your phone. Make sure your source/host computer is virus and malware free....then you should have no issues once you have installed the free a/v from symbian. | Blackberry owners can check against the systems noted above...I have never owned one and most likely never will.

Kaspersky is offering a free app for Symbian users and there are several for Android users albeit perhaps not as necessary. Android has a Linux base code and unless used with Windows apps is again relatively bulletproof...if you are concerned, Lookout is an approved app and free also. | Quoting 'Ramble_on'... is able to go in online mode is vulnarable to visuses... You can get protection for iphones, and androids.... | There are a couple of apps being flogged in the iPhone and iPad space but are useless. They have been developed by less than credible sources and only as a result of Apple releasing the apps developer software broadly to the market. Thus far, Apple and McAffe have identified only a handful of rather useless bits of malware floating in the wild...well below 100 and as you can scan either device whilst it is docked to either you PC or Mac, a waste of space considering that there are now about 900,000 bots and malware in the wild that can effect your PC. If I were to consider anything...it would be a software to prevent your phone, pad and/or WiFi connection from being "borrowed" by another user. That is not a virus but all thing considered can be an annoyance. Just ask Dianne Sawyer...or Google it.

FB Addiction. Fark, one day I will write something to you without a spelling error. You know keeping everyone's names for the different sites is getting to be a bit hard! One day I am sure I will call you, I don't know, maybe Fred or something and get myself hopeless confused. xxMeeks

Have made teasing me an artform in the past, do not up the ante by threatening to leave typos out of your messages Meeks, you know they drive me wild! :-D ... Are you sure someone else doesn't just have special vision powers or something? What my eyes and my technology are lacking in, my photographic memory and ridiculously wild imagination make up for! ;-) But really, I think its most likely a Blackberry thing.

The facebook App, the RHP app.. and emails... all on i-phone... I'm unable to cope! Facebook messages sent on email.... so I miss some of the messages on facebook thinking Ive already read them in email and vice versa... how do you stop that? And the RHP app... doesn't sort by date.. and doesn't know Ive already read the message on line via some other device, so the damn thing is clagged up with messages. Aye Carumba! Plus.. you should try it with three facebook accounts.. a) business, b) family and c) oh so not family! And different email accounts for each... it's too much! I used to enjoy not having a phone at all! Bring back the tradie bag phone!HUgsStalkyQuoting 'Meeka100' FB Addiction.
