sorry day australia

February 13 2008

i suppose we should be grateful some of our ancestors were shipped over to oz for taking a loaf of bread to feed their children and turning a land into one of the best countrys in the world today we also had children taken from their famlies and sent to orphanages because the people of the day thought it would be better off for them some never saw their famlies again and lots got abused but the world has many sad stories to tell where people have been invaded by other nations UK by many id like those people to say sorry for what their ancesters did to us THE world is full of sad tales the sooner people look at the POSITIVES that have come out of all of this i dont see us getting sorry days from the vikings /danes /romans/ but blood sweat tears builds strong nations thats why we are a strong nation today and australia is what it is today for same resons .GET over it I WOULD LIKE TO SEE OTHER OPINIONS TY

I think you've completely missed the point of sorry day, jim. It's not a national day for putting crap on the poms.. it's recognition of the genocide that took place. Indiginous people in Australia only got to vote in the late 1960's and any children who had a trace of caucasion in them were taken from their parents and put into christian missionaries.. this happened well into the 1960's. There's a reason for sorry day, and it has nothing to do with vikings, Jim. As a nation, Australians are sorry. We dont give a flying hoot about whether poms are sorry or not.   Hugs Gazpacho
