I cant remember the name of the company though - it was a very popular online company that seemed to draw a lot of attention from overseas. It featured a lot of "Girl next door" and girl on girl material. They were busted about 18 months ago.

Australia does not have a thriving movie prod history/industry. Melbourne is the place if there's anywhere. How do you get financial backing for a porn movie and its production/distribution? Not sure the jewish financial sector supports it anyway? However, I must agree with your notion that there be more done. With titles like "Crocodile HungDee" and "Skippy the Bush Dildo-Roo". Maybe we should invite Buttman or Christoph Clarke down under to show us how it's done.

The business model is the main reason why very few production houses produce adult content.There is very little money in the production of porn movies in Australia. The major distribution companies in Australia can buy rights to big US and European movies for under $5k. The major mistake many people make is spending thousands of dollars producing a movie and then expecting to sell it to a distribution company for 10's thousands of dollars. If you plan to do this as a business venture, make sure you know how much people are willing to pay for your product. Distribution companies will only take a gamble on a new studio if the price is right. This means you will need to sell the rights to your movie for under $2k in Australia. Anything you produce will need to be sold outside Australia to have a chance of breaking even.

Unfortunately, its hard to make it big in any entertainment industry here in aus, whether its music, acting, porn or even sports (other than the most popular few, which are about the same as anywhere). The best chance any aussie has of making it big in porn is going overseas, because it would be next to impossible to work your way up through amateur stuff.

It would seem that online sites such as Jean Swing which would appear to be a husband and wife team would be the way to go for any aspiring small Director /Producer. I am pretty certain that it is not illegal to host a web site in Australia, as long as all the relevant laws are abided by (no one to appear underage etc).

Hey, I have done porn in sydney with a company and in melbourne, ( acting ) I am in the process of starting up western australias pornography and erotic arts assoc. If you have a look at EROS website it will tell you all the porn makers in Australia, mainly canberra, it is a governing body. Hi, Laws & legislation are the main factors which will control the production of pornographic materials. No Australian company is a allowed to host webpages of pornographic nature and is why porographic material is always hosted offshore. This to me would be costing Australia a lot fo money and impacting the economy. I am a photographer and model, and have been asked a few times to make pornographic material domestically and internationally. I do find Europe is massive with porn industry, as also sexuallity is open and not such a tabboo there. A lot is also attitude of models and actors for such work in Australia. But I guess if laws etc relaxed and the sexual revolution hits australia more the porn industry could really flourish in Australia. But again porn has many issues in its industry and propper regualtion and controls need to be put into place. Waggy83

As one who is a more interested in Sacred Tantric Sensual energy work, and with a media background, Australia is set to make its OWN unique style. (maybe) I would love to make Female / Male sensual movies, yet I don't like doing what has been done. Thinking outside the square, we here in Australia would make awesome movies, Ozi style. Apparently the porn industry has shifted at landslide pace, since the amateur industry has hit the internet, people are making home movies or sex scenes from their own bedrooms and uploading, or live cam feed. Bringing the porn stars to the studio and camera crew, along with a contract giving the best part of any money earned to the producers, is steadily on the increase. I bet that's what a lot of people are thinking, especially the ones who find themselves on a porn site in amateur or webcam categories. Once it is in there it' is all but imposable to have removed. There is thousands of scenes mainly young too, teenagers. I have watched a reasonable amount of porn, (the educational interest of coarse) it is everywhere now on all the sites and you can see the inexperience with most, they don't realise that just the fashion thing once again. 15 min of fame. One girl was doing a show for her boyfriend away, on cam and she gave a good show toys, anal play and all the sex appeal for the realness for him. She did it on her dads computer and when she sent it to her boyfriend, she was unaware that the settings were set to send to all. Not only her dads friends, all on the mail list. It was his office computer and business. It ended up in the porn clouds on the internet.

That reads like a confrontation.... It wasn't. Porn is like food.... there's a trend for themes that come and go, with individual tastes and a dish for everyone. Too much porn is aggressive domineering jackrabbit blow n go porn... but I guess that's what the short term attention span market of the typical wanker wants. Anyone with a camera and Internet can be a publisher and anyone with a bit of mouse can be a distributor. Making money and keeping it coming in is the tricky part because porn inherently entices people to see what ELSE is available.

I agree, yet not what I want to do, I can see something a little different although tech has not caught up yet. Although very much what you say all done onsite and today don't need large staff, won't say but my trip is "Who needs a crew?" Having a handy cam shaking whilst doing it, well that is tacky, not me as a male speaking to me women are just wonderful and making them safe and happy and capturing that well, all I do say quite sincerely "The pleasure IS all mine." When Private was making film down here they had to fly in the male talent because apparently it wasn't up to the standard. But I think there is a lot of nice pron coming from Australia. But it isn't packaged the glossy way. There are a lot people doing porn and posting it on the net. I have seen several nice clips.
