......and if that doesnt work, tell him you have an identical twin sister, you are independantly wealthy and your Dad owns a pub.....lol Come along to the next Melbourne drinks night (see events page)....and try a few different approaches for yourself... In person...just walk up slowly, make eye contact, smile softly and say hello. I would suggest that you not run up from behind, grab them around the neck and yell loudly "Hey, I like the way you look!" ...although some men may like an aggressive woman? Subtley and confidence are a winning team in my book. | Alternatively, walking up slowly wearing nothing...with a can of whipping cream in one hand and the winning Powerball lottery ticket in the other? | Who could resist!

Well I thought we were the ones that had to do all the work, but in a perfect world I guess if a girl were interested in me & I didnt realise it I would like her to let me know, smile at me, say hi, ask my name....At this point I am fully aware that you are interested in me, or you can do better! Now if your talking about picking up on here then thats a different matter. Change your profile, add some colour & say your interested in men as well as women. Cheers Oldog

You smile, make eye contact... they either smile and make eye contact back, or they look away. If they smile back.. "Hi, I'm Jules, how are you?"... and so it goes. It's not rocket science.

I realized that aussie guys are to shy and doesnt know how to approach to a girl. Aussie guys expect to a girl who makes the first approach and if it doesnt happen then nothing happens. I know girls want to feel seduced, want to feel attracted by men, then real passionate men will immediately notice that a hot sexy girl is peeking on you and make contact. Latino guys we are exactly the opposite. As Polar Bear said, its not rocket science, if there is attraction between man and woman then let the river flows, that will be really exciting for both...

even if he already has a drink in his hand. walk up, hand him a drink (stick with beer, its more universal) and just start chatting. if you havent seen him with a girl all night, just be direct.i couldnt pick up a girl in a brothel, so my advice might not be worth the time. but any guy that isnt trying to hump every girl on the dance floor is generally either a nice guy, or socially retarded, or both.

best way to get guys attention is eye contact... but make sure he knows it is him you are looking at...lol But best way to approach a guy would be by yourself (no with a group of girls....to distracting ) and just ask them a meaningless question time or something and go from there with name etc but my best way myself with women is go up and ask them... " Do you like stuff" and always get a smiling reaction have fun

Mmmm, perhaps should have seen the signs when he actually had one! Either way, as a number of guys have already said it's in the eye contact - first and foremost. From accross the room or a few meters away catch their eye with a smile and look away again. Do this a few times so they get the idea. Move closer. If they're interested and confident enough then they will make the next move and attempt to pick you up. If that doesn't happen you have to then move in. Body language is important (no crossed arms for example) and it make be worth looking up what open, flirtatious body language is - there's got to books on the subject. When it comes to the actual talking this is where i fall behind so i can't offer much other than to minimise the negativty. Negativity for me is such a turn off - as well as behaving like a bimbo. It's hard i know, but good luck non the less.

For an otherwise outgoing, social, shameless idiot, I'm at times awkward ergo absolutely shitful at having the balls to initiate random conversations. When I do, it goes well, but generally, I'm a nancy boy. However if it's initiated by her, well, it's pretty much a case of "You had me at hello".I just read my own post now I feel cheap and easy but ah well.
