  Do a search for jala neti. It's a yoga technicque of sinus irrigation for washing the sinus. Basically you mix up a mildly salty solutin (isotropic) with body temperature water - 250ml boiling water to 750mls room temp water with about two level teaspons of coooking salt. You put it in a small tea pot looking pot and pour into one nostrel, breath through your mouth and bend fowrard and it comes out the other. You keep switching nostrels until you have washed all the solution through. Breath through the nose to dry it and you'll have clear sinuses all day. It's also great to stop a cold and a runny nose. I used to do it daily now just a couple of times a week.   Some chemists sell a little plastic pot with salt to mix into the water and instrucitons for about $50. Google jala neti or even have a look on youtube to see how it's done. hope it helps...

  I would highly recommend an Ayurvedic approach. Neti pots are fantastic for clearing sinus congestion and strengthening nasal mucous membranes against future issues. I usually just use warm salty water with a neti pot but you can also follow the Nasya regime advocated by Ayurveda, which can have exceptional results.   I'm all for natural remedies where possible, when it comes to mild, chronic conditions.

  I have too have a few sinus issues but there is plenty that can be done for it. The new PE sinus medication I don't find as helpful as the pseudoephedrine. It is still available but you need to show ID at the chemist or get a script. I can't say it has ever stopped me from licking though so I'd certainly recommend a visit to the doctor as there are surgery options for severe cases also.   Good luck

  I get major sinus problems and I need surgery to fix them. Maybe he should consult an ENT if it's a chronic condition, the sinus problems could be caused by a structural problem in the nasal passages. In the mean time I would definitely suggest him getting a neti pot or sinus rinse bottle. It shoots water into your sinuses and unclogs everything... way more effective than the sprays. Do it once a day for about a month, then drop it back to second days or every few days (go back to once a day if there's another sinusitis attack) and he should get back to licking.

  tell him to go to the chemist and get a sinus flush - its only saline sachets then u add boiled water (not boiling water) and well....tell him to follow the directions - his sinus will clear up straight away - i suffer with it and this always helps... a doc could always give him steroids to help - worse case scenario is that he can have an op - but thats a live severe.....good luck
