Hey Earl, man, we let you out of our sight for a few days this happens! I feel no fear in saying we are all gutted...as you are no doubt. Got my Margaret Fulton Homestyle recipes out and scouring for the mother of all break-out cakes. What a strange forum to be asking about Super ? LOL Seriously though if you need it & can get it..do it! I don't particularly worry about 20 years..or 10 years or even 5 years from now. I live for today...fuck...I could be dead tomorrow. I have seen a few friends & work buddies who have scrimped & saved, built up Superannuation & heaps of long service leave & holiday leave etc only to literally drop dead at ages 34, 48 & 60 . Enjoy your life while you can..we get just one shot at it...don't waste it working day in day out & worrying about how you'll live when you're bloody 70 !!

I was like you and had Super all over the place...most I couldn't even remember!! There is a link on the ATO website that will help you find your Super: http://www.ato.gov.au/corporate/content.asp?doc=/content/86437.htm or you can call 13 28 65 for any lost Super and they will help you. The rules for hardship can be complicated to access your super (yes i work for an accountant), there are basic rules set by the Government which are standard and must be met but then there are different added 'criteria' set by the individual funds so if you have multiple funds i would ask around with each of them to find out which one has the easiest access under hardship terms, then roll ALL your super to that fund and start filling in the forms!! once it is all under way there will be a few things you might need to provide as proof but once it is all authorized it can happen pretty quickly, good luck Earl, hope it works for you
