For me any interaction with a woman has some element of sex in it so whether as a woman you use it overtly or not I will react different to a woman than to a man (even if I'm not conscious of it ) So in my opinion particularly women working in male dominant fields benefit from their erotic or sexual capital whether they use it deliberately or not

Ha....as if I work in a completely male dominated industry - however if one was to watch TV you would get the impression that it is mainly women who do my job...so not true...and trust me, I have fought tooth and nail to get where I have got..Ive worked harder, longer, given up more and been ridiculed more because I am a female (a short female at that)..Ive never had a handout and I have had to prove myself time and time and time again to my male colleagues and it is only now in my late 40's that I would say Im am now somewhat accepted by the lads. Having said that....although I have been somewhat resentful of the fact that I was never given a break and I have had to prove myself time and time again and worked harder,longer etc, I can honestly say Im damn proud of what I have achieved and although I would hesitate to say I am one of the boys..I now at least get invited to drinks after a tough one at the "office" and Im very glad that Ive earned my male colleagues respect the hard yet honest way... As for Erotic Capital...Ive never seen it in my field nor have I ever used it..I think if I tried it at my work the boys would just piss themselves laughing at me...its may also have something to do with our sexless uniform ...when you see what we are..we are definitely "desexed" ...and thats probably a good thing... What Ive achieved Ive done all by myself with the greatest asset God could bestow on me...my brain...and my tenacity.....

I jagged the house i'm in because I flirted remorselessly with the owner and took it out from under the agents nose.It amuses me when women turn on the sex to get there way, I'm a tradie so it happens, I just give as good in return. Although i work mainly with woman who i wouldn't every use my influence on i often use it to get myself out of sticky situations while i am at work.. i work in the hospitality industry in a high volume cafe/rest and there are some days where you can't please everyone but i've often found with an extra, submissive sorry, pout of the lips and a gently hand on their shoulder or arm i can usually get them to accept my apology quite eagerly therefore making everyone happy. Do i feel bad.. maybe a little but you gotta play to your strengths right? haha

Being a female and participating in motorsport is a double edged sword. To gain some kind of respect you either have to become "one of the boys" and adopt a blokey demeanor or you go the other way and become all "girly bimbo airhead" with heels and short skirts. Either way you will only gain a modicum of respect and attention even if you manage to outdrive them because as far as they are concerned the only women that should be in motorsport are the gridgirls.I wear short skirts and high heels, tell the same jokes as the guys, ask intelligent questions, make informed comments and keep a ladylike demeanor at all times. What really gets respect from some of the boys is the fact that I have on several occasions helped put engines together and installed gearboxes. Despite all this I am still treated as somewhat of a novelty but also a force to be reckoned with.Yes I do use my erotic capital or feminine wiles to my advantage but when it comes to motorsport it doesn't always work.

Damn I wish I could look sexy while wiping someones arse but I don't think it would come off very well.(pun intended) I work mostly nights and what with the limited amount of sleep I look like the proverbial come 4 in the morning.
