I'm not sure why. Perhaps they left heir browser open or left the app open on their phone?

is it the little notice in the top bar that your friend just logged in, or is it that you're seeing their profile showing as online? The first one is possibly correct, or could be the phone app checking in, but if it is the latter it could mean anything. RHP seem to run most non-essential tasks periodically, so the update to say someone is "offline" probably only happens if they click "logout" or when the session times out on the server (and the next stats update runs after that). When you login, or click on links/buttons on the site it should go back to the server and update when you were last active, usually it lasts for the next hour or so and then says you're offline because you haven't done anything. On RHP I think it actually updates the stat when you hit the main page 'MemberProfile' (hitting that page was the way to get RHP to stop logging you out from the forums a number of months ago)

The RHP app on my phone 99.95% of the time. Hence, I won't be able to see other people's online status, nor do I care to check if my friends are really online or not 😜 but I am definitely online at midnight majority of the time 👻👻 - Posted from rhpmobile

To be honest, I don't look to see who's online. I'm logged on most of the time on my computer, but working on other windows, might jump on here every so often, so plenty would be like me, logged on but not on, if that makes sense. I also have the little box ticked to hide when I'm online 😉 it quietens the inbox down, which I needed at one point, and I didn't want to feel under pressure to answer messages until I had more time 😃

Telling you they aren't online? Perhaps they are a little embarrassed getting caught out. Deny, deny, deny

Certain women are "looking" me.Clearly they aren't when I'm 23 years outside their age range.

what the OP is asking has to do with being on site on a computer, and noticing the status of people being currently online or not. I have seen it as well whereby it appears someone is noted as being online, but actually have left the site some time beforehand (hours perhaps ?). I have been asked before, why I have not replied to people when it is shown that I am online, but actually had logged off a reasonable period beforehand. Tall

I logged in one night after coming home from a show and saw my new friend was online, so I sent her a text, and then another, then I got a tirade of abuse for waking her up, but, but, but. No sympathy the damage was terminal. The internet lies.

It tells you when people are logged on It alerts you when they log on It tells you when they have read your message All it needs to tell you is when they are naked, showering or walking alone on a dark road and it would be complete 🤔😎😮

If you don't like people knowing when you are online you can turn it off. Manage Account / Profile - General Settings

Yes, but the system allows you to trick everyone, with all of those things. I will allow you to be online and not show that you're online, you can read your messages and it still looks like you haven't opened them. I prefer it like that, so no one ever know when I'm on and that way I can be the bestest stalker. 💋

I've sat next to someone, who showed me I was on line when I was not or had not logged in. Quite bizarre at the time. It also showed as me being close to them too and on line in chat room. I was the first person on their list. I've had this happen a few times now. I put it down to being multi skilled, especially at, 2am when I'm sleeping. Ms Foxy

Do you log out when you finish? MrsPlayful logs out to stop the four hundred messages she would get if she doesn't. And that seems to work. This would be on the iPad using the website. I have found that if I just leave it open the iPad thinks you've logged out (I have to log back on when I com back to it) but the site still thinks I'm on because I didn't press the button to log out.

My male half is on line on the PC at home in Melbourne whilst I'm on line 200 klms away. Our personalities really are split. Wondering if he may have an orgie in full swing when l get home this evening?

I close my tab down, which logs me out. I have to re-enter my details if I want to log back in. Even if I have accidentally closed down my tab, I still have to log back in. This is via the site, not the app on my mobile. I have recently received a message informing me that RHP is having technical issues and are looking into it. Ms Foxy

You might find that if you press the log out button before you close the tab then that will log you off properly. When you close the tab your computer thinks you've logged off but the site hasn't had any communication from your computer, so the site thinks you're on still as it knows no different. Most sites will check for usage and if none is detected then will automatically log you out (whether or not your browser is still open). I think this is the bit that rhp's site is not doing well.

Thank you. I'll try that out. I think You might be right in regards, that it is not being detected. You make a great detective! 😊 Ms Foxy

Quoting 'SuperFoxxxy' I close my tab down, which logs me out. I have to re-enter my details if I want to log back in. Even if I have accidentally closed down my tab, I still have to log back in. This is via the site, not the app on my mobile. I have recently received a message informing me that RHP is having technical issues and are looking into it. which browser are you using and which page are you trying to access. I'm on Chrome, tick the "remember me" box, and always start RHP by going to the base redhotpie address (and it then flips you to the memberProfile page) if you try and access other pages e.g. going directly to the portal, it often tells you you're not logged. (that message is their standard message, they're having technical issues with database deadlocking, but that isn't the login issues - those have existed for AGES and they just don't seem to have squashed the session/authentication provider bugs)

...I log on in the usual fashion. I do a standard search with my usual parameters and almost every time the same profiles show as online. I am not a night owl so do not know if the same would happen at 1 am, but I have a few hunches. 1. People show as online if they leave but do not log out. 2. People who are not logged in but have either their computer or phone on, show as logged in. 3. The pool of matching women is small and rarely replenished. Kisses to all
