Words we love

October 09 2013

Emotive or evocative, what are the words that you love to say and hear, just because of how cool they sound or how much they mean to you? For me, it's not about a superior vocab, it's about words that make me dream, think, feel, remember. A few of my faves - enchanted, fulsome, distraught, discombobulated. Yours?

I love this word. But it frustrates me though when people misconstrue it's use as a bdsm term. - Posted from rhpmobile

Bacchanalian (Bacchus was a fairly cool God), always liked "brook" as a verb, paramount and tantamount as well. Duplicitous....which in the local legal fraternity seems to always be used instead of duplication? And a wonderful piece of jargon....decamped

Onomatopoeia is a fave, for how it looks, how it sounds and what it means. Also anthropomorphic. I really like discerning, too. And penchant. And predilection, I REALLY like that word. Aahhhh, word porn :)

Quoting 'inspirit' KUNT- Posted from rhpmobile I love it for its original meaning - it is the nicest word for the vagina - you can almost feel the warmth and juiciness in it.
