I'm at a loss to explain how a site like this somehow selects women who are below society's average height?? Women are always aware of the "threat" factor of a mans larger physical stature.... but then, so are other men. Not sure how the height difference would translate via a non face to face meeting through reading a profile though. Once trust and comfort is established (via email/phone)... any threat is somewhat diminished. But then, op, you chose the word "tall" in your profile name for a reason, right?!! Until I met up with a very young, very tall, very hot and very much in proportion young man. Adding all this to the fact that he was a really nice and VERY talented young man.....I have since changed my opinion. When in proportion, a tall guy is extremely attractive and very much a turn on for me now and in no way intimidating....getting a little turned on thinking about it actually ;)

You've jumped the gun a bit me lad. I'm fully aware that AFTER contact a person will be able to come to some conclusion. I am more interested in what a girl thinks about before contact has been established - initial impressions on her part. Yes , I put Tall in my name because upon meeting it's all too bloody obvious, so I may as well forewarn - not for any particular advantage / disadvantage. SirL, I also have a good basket of sarcasm as well when required. Proud to say I've never had to worry about Viagra or any other help - despite being a spritely 56 and not 34. Im just under 6'3"..... I've been with women from 5'0"... to a very leggy 6'5". For those who like to focus on size in here, that's a variance of -33cm to +5cm.... total range close to 40cm. Now what that range has shown me is that if you really want to......you'll easily accommodate all logistical issues based on limb lengths. That said, I have a preference for slender/athletic women between (say) 5'5" and 5'10". And if I have a preference, why expect that women don't have their own preference. DG

If you re-read my opening, you will see it asks " Would this be a factor in deciding if you would accept meeting up with a guy". Note the tense that it implies before the fact. I always seem to have attracted much taller men. My husband was 5' 10", last long term lover over 6 ft, and lots of tall guys try to hit on me. Sometimes makes my neck crick a bit though. Don't care how tall/ short though when horizontal.

Being tall-ish but not overly tall I've never found my height to be an issue, it doesn't really come up in conversation before meeting someone either unless they specifically like a certain height in a man in which case they specifically ask.

If your talking about filling out a form with height on...It's left blank or "can not measure due to disability in wheelchair" or "unable to be measured".Sometimes can get a measurement if laying down on bed.Sometimes the measurement is not correct due to Physical/body impairment.But it is rude to ask someone in a wheelchair their height in a conversation, it's just not a polite thing to do, some people might find it offensive and others not.FOXY

Fair question. It's a bit like the gender debate - so often the options on forms etc only cover male or female, when there are of course other options. And then there's the fact that it's not even necessarily a gender debate. Gender and sex are often used interchangeably but actually male/female = a person's sex, masculine/feminine = a person's gender. Unless of course the person was born with male and female sex organs, or identifies as neither or both man and woman. And then there's the complexity of different sexualities, regardless of sex or gender. Anyway, my point is just that forms don't always provide all of the options necessary for people to really describe themselves accurately. These days, developing forms about people has become a bit of a minefield , for all of these reasons.
