I guess many people have pretty generic/similar profiles...."easy going, down to earth, GSOH..." etc etc u know what im talking about....i prob even have some of that crap in mine, i don't know, i really can't remember. So what im getting at is that pics is an easy way to differentiate straight off the bat...i know for me it can be make or break for who i approach/respond to. I agree, it's totally fickel, and judging a book by its cover is not reccommended but i guess it's kinda just the nature of the beast with this place...im sure we've all done it before....and obviously sometimes u just know it aint gonna work out. But keep on trucking, the RHP freeway is a long one with many twists and turns ;)

And the RHP supermarket is open for business!! Speaking from the view point of someone who did not have a profile pic & receiving only the odd email I attracted from my blurb....to holiday madness and bombarding same with pics....what a difference! My (in)box is overflowing! Re ppl's reaction to said pics...and mine for that matter its a bit like choosing your groceries....do you buy the bruised fruit? The dinted can? The slightly off colour meat? It could be a really nice inside but hey...its human nature to seek the best looking, tasty product one can buy and lets face it....some RHP'ers have to pay thru the nose to get access to some of what is on offer so...its a buyers market!!

It's the photo taken through the toothpaste spit all over the bathroom mirror that puts me off. I mean really .. are you guys looking at what we're looking at? And all those annoying lens flair photos... And if you have knobby knees.. trim the photo off at the thighs.. lol... a torso shot worked fine in Ancient Rome... even with their arms gone they still look sexy! Hugs Stalky

Of course you judge a book by its cover. If you didnt they wouldnt have glossy covers ,they would be covered in brown paper with the title writen in texta. If there is no physical attraction in the beginning things are'nt going to work in the bedroom. Not saying you have to be supermodle material, much prefer a woman with a bit of meat on their bones, but there does have to be some sort of visual attraction.

I certainly don't....but its human nature to be drawn to the sight of beauty.be it different to everyonehence the saying.. beauty is in the eye of the beholder...Like fine art one has to sit and take it in as such.the intent of what the artist is conveying...the longer you look..one can see the brush strokes,or dots , colours..etcof course its the person as a whole....but some people dont want to take a small amount of time to see beyond the face.Yet first appearances in the work place is accepted..often thats what a potental employer looks at...xoxoxheymumma

But for us no matter how 'attractive' the pic, it's nothing without a decent profile {excerpt from book} that gives some idea of personality to start with... to decide if we want to go on and read any of the rest of the book.You show me yours and I'll show you mine... only once did we go to msn without swapping pics and we were horrified to have the conversation terminated because of our looks. Not going there again lol.Good luck

It's not shallow, it's natural. Physical attraction is important. And yes, of course so is personality, but the first thing that attracts you when you see someone in the flesh is the physical. This can be linked to the personality...E.G. they're smiling, so they're a happy and friendly person and that makes them attractive. Sure, ultimately it comes down to personality. On RHP i won't bother responding responding to profiles that have a one line blurb and nothing else besides pics- They have to have a personality to attract me as well or if it ever came to a meeting it would just be full of awkward silences, which does not lead to fun times had by all! That being said, there's someone for everyone. Everyone has different taste and one man's trash is another man's treasure. Red xxx

I totally agree in platonic matters, but given the nature of the site a person's attraction, or not, to another's appearance will more often than not, naturally be the initially defining factor in whether or not to pursue/accept any further liaison. I mean in a sexual context, if there's no physical attraction what's the point of physical contact?

we tend to agree this isnt RSVP...so yes looks count of course. however we dont judge by pics alone...but if profile is sparce, and pics are crap (close ups of girls breast or ankle??, spread pussy close up...yuck ) and no pics of guy (no ..its NOT all about you girls ) it wont encorage us to wink or message you.. so many profiles with terrible pics...what were they thinking Neo and Blaze

What if we could try before we buy ? Or maybe this could be the webcam aisle..So we see a pic and click on to say hi..Ask our probing questions to form an opinion on the person or people, not just looking at a photo which lets face it whose photo genic ..I just cant take a good pic..

Well, that and "your pics did funny things to the front of my undies"...had me blushing and giggling that one did. I am kind of facinated too Nick! I always find myself cocking my head to one side when reading your posts. Now, about pics...I have to say that I am always drawn to the more arty pics rather than the subject. To me, that shows a lot about a persons personality. Also love pics (and I'm talking in general, not just on here) showing peoples faces and their smiles...that also shows me a lot about who they are - if they're happy, carefree, troubled, laid back, funny...
