Why do people lie? What on earth is the point?

  Interesting twist top trivia question on the radio this afternoon was 'What do Australians do on average twice a day?'. Now I was thinking brush their teeth but the answer was that they lie. I think some do it to 'get them in the door' so as to speak but I think anyone with pics that are 10 years old are kidding themselves. A few years may not matter if the persons looks have not changed much, but 10 is taking it too far. One thing though, it is not just guys that do it. Females do as well probably just as much as guys even though they really don't need to. It's a bit like the people that put they are athletic or average weight when in reality most would say they are well over weight. Some try to cover that by not putting anything. That is a indicator in itself. I should point out that your profile says athletic and your pics back that up nicely. So back to the original question. Why do they do it. Well some guys just have no confidence in what they are now. Maybe if there was more success for guys on the site they would not feel the need to 'adjust' their profile. It does seem a bit senseless though because if they say they are 10 years younger than they are, (and I know one that put down 15 years younger and said he could because he looked it...lol...yeah ok), when it comes to meeting it is unlikely to work out. Even worse if using old pics.

  Desperate people do desperate things I guess... but it surely must be embarrassing showing up to a date unrecognisable! As a strategy for getting laid, It'd never work for me anyway... That's because 5 years ago I cut a different figure to the debonair man you see before you today! Overweight, severely unhealthy, stressed to the max, a failing libido and headed for an early grave until I got addicted to showering with all the muscular guys down at the gym every day. :p

  I don't see the point of being dishonest How can you expect to have a FWB, if you can't lie straight in bed and if you lie about something as simple as your age or pic, or marital status, then how are we spose to believe anything else that dribbles out of the mouth Yes this is a sex/dating site but sharing yourself is something you chose to do with someone that you have some sort of rapport with and common interest,

  Naturally your desperate male is going to say anything in order to get his knob wet. We all put on the shiny facade at the first meeting (would you look twice at an unshaven yob in trakkies?). I don't have any suggestions except for something that has been passed to me from ladies I've met on a number of dating/meeting/rooting sites and that is: if a bloke is unwilling to hand out his home phone number, you can be fairly assured that there's somebody at home that he doesn't want you to know about. As far as the age question goes, I'd think that a mental age is a truer guide to the person than the physical age. I wouldn't care how old my partner is, as long as there is a connection. I leave you with a quote from Duckman - " If I had a dollar for every time I'd told a woman I was a millionaire just to get her into bed, I'd be a millionaire"

  Lie's just dont work no matter how u say it or which ever way you try to put it across if it's not the truth how can you remember it. when do u know when the truth starts & the lie's stop It's awfull hard to come back from a lie what ever trust u had with your Lady is gone and not forgotten so the best think is just Forget about it ( lie's that is ) Wouldn't u much rather have Great Sex not just a root because thats all it will be if u lie about It ALWAYS shows it Ugly head if not today -tomorrow your looks your age your size your ability Is all up for show at some stage Hey some blokes might think im a S ensetive N ew A ge G uy But let me tell you the your Badly mistaken Truth Hurts Lie's Damage
