Why do people delete the text thread and what does that mean?

This does happen time to time. If someone deletes the conversation we assume that's a closed book, and block that profile as it's now a dead end. Not everyone can feel confident to communicate their lack of desire, and perhaps they're worried about backlash or perhaps they just don't want to waste the effort. In any case, add them to the block list and never worry about them again. Plenty of live rounds without wanting to rummage through a barrell of blanks to find them - clear the dead wood.

Why keep redundant messages? I delete inactive chats every week.

I will delete just to keep the mail box clean and tidy. Doesn't mean I don't want to chat in the future. If that was the case I would just block someone. I do give people time to respond but also assume that have lost interest if they read and don't bother to reply. Also guests can't respond after 7 days so always worth a follow up message if keen.

Ditto I delete chat history if no chat after a week. Keep the inbox folder tidy and it speeds up the page loading. I'm not here to make penpals. (Side note I don't delete sexy hot chats 🤣)

If I delete my message from anyone, it deletes for them. No big loss, it means I'm no longer interested if I ever was.

I delete messages from people I'm not interested in. No point keeping them. As for people not replying, there have been many, many topics posted about that and the reasons why people may not reply. Whatever the reason, they're obviously not interested in having a conversation at that point in time so no point losing sleep over it. Oh also, RHP now has an 'ignore' option when you receive a message and if you select that it automatically deletes the message.

If its a guest i will do a follow up message about 14 days later if no reply delete. For those who have read the message i give them 7 days then delete. There needs to be some sort of indication of when people were last online as it could be in a number of occasions they haven't been online for wks or longer. As far as site etiquette a simple "no thanks" this at least acknowledges that they have read the message, any further messages from that person i don't read just block

We delete messages.one reason is If you have had a chat and your not a good match. Then why would you keep the old message. If we send a message and we can see it's been read and no response for a week or so then we would delete our message and just take it as a sign of no interest or no time. Both not a good fit for us If a conversation has stalled out or even if your all seemingly getting on great and have got to the point of all agreeing on meeting in person. If we leave it in others hands to pick a time and place and we don't get feedback for a few weeks then we take it as a sign of no interest or no time and would just delete the message. Consolidates your inbox down to a few contacts that are working well with our availability and communication expectations.
