If you are still rocking it then wear it!!!dont worry about the age it is just a number anyway, if you still look good in what you are wearing and you feel comfortable then wear it, to hell with what is considered the 'Norm' you are in Tamworth for sodding out loud they will judge you no matter what you wear !!lol (I lived there for 14 years so i get it)Seriously you look HOT just go with it and have fun dont let your age change what you wear let your mood do that

You're officially a woman in her prime... As such it would be best for both yourself, and society in general if you wear as little as possible. Nakedness being preferable. Consider it a community service, you'd be raising the happiness quotient considerably in your little corner of the world. Peace, A fellow fabulous fortysomething funster

But honestly wear what you are comfortable in. I see plenty of women in their 50s and 60s getting round in clothes that my daughter would probably wear, but if thats what makes you comfortable or how you want to dress then go ahead, just because us girls get older does not mean we have to dress like a pensioner :)

was the big 40 in September, but I think if you are comfortable in what you have been wearing up till then, why change? Just make sure you play up your best assets, although tastefully (not like all the young things in snog, marry, avoid... this pearl of wisdom can be taken by those at any age in fact!) You can always attend a personal colour/style course, a friend of mine did this not long ago (she's also 40) they give you swatches of your personal colours and advice on what to wear to best play up your body type/features. She says it was wonderful and is no longer lost when clothes/makeup shopping. I think I may attend one too, I am venturing out into the workforce soon, totally new vocation, so my 90's powersuits and officewear are not going to cut it! Just look forward to a new exciting phase of your life.

I wear what looks and feels great. No way am I dressing old and dowdy.. I have a girl friend in her 60s and she is a very sexy woman in her clothing, jewellery and make up style. My kids are a good measure of what I have on .. if they don't think its okay they very quickly tell me.. My 20 year old is usually with me when I shop .... A strand of pearls are definitely a necessity for an over 40s woman... perfect accessory draped over a gorgeous naked body

that when you turn 40 it is important to throw away or give away your whole wardrobe.Make your way to Target or Big Ws Very Ugly Clothes section specifically designed for your now age group.Choose the ugliest possible dresses, make sure the hems cover your ankles and that the Tshirts are as baggy as possible. Do not under any circumstances dye your hair...,let it grow as grey and long as possible ,do not wear makeup, stop going to the gym, stock up on icecream, chocolate and very greasy foods.Join the Exclusive Bretheren or any Doomsday sect, and pray a lot. I hope this helps, yours sincerely Freya Lifestyle Consultant to the over the hill, ooops, over 40s. Ps and please realize that any sexual activity must cease at once.

People are brainwashed by hollywood, movies, news, magazines fashion shows as to how one should look and what should be worn.Just wear what makes you feel comfie and happy.Conforming to rules that have been made up by social lites and models is why people are not happy in life.Wear this ,look like that, blah blah blah You should wear what you like and if people have a problem with it ,they need to get a life.I will be forty soon to ,bring on naughty 40's i say

Peeves me that some people think that because they reach a certain number they should prepare for the downhill run to the grave ? I wear what I like... if I see something I think will look good I buy it... I get comments on my taste and in the words of a lady friend recently' I inspire the guys in our circle of friends to do likewise.. Mind you' some of my friends have let themselves go , and for some it wouldnt work.. But if you take the time to look after yourself, you will get away with heaps... That goes for women and men...

Sweetheart I'm 49 & when I turned 40 I made my family & friends all very happy by finally starting to dress the way I was ''supposed to''... then when I turned 46 I realized I was totally freaking miserable, so I ditched the ''supposed to'' clothes, replaced them with cropped sweaters, slashed jeans & thigh boots, took up pole dancing & have been smiling my ass off ever since :PJust forget the myths & ''old'' wives tales, dress & live however the hell you feel like living it hun cos the only ''right'' way is the way that feels right to you ;) XXX

That is just sooooo old. Now at 50 I still dress in really tight figure hugging stretchy stuff from Supre. Midriff is bare, sporting a bellybar and tatt. Jeans are really jeggings and sit just above the pubic line, tops cut way low and sheer. Iphone stuck in the bra so I can keep in touch with the world, skirts that only just cover my crutch and my shorts dont even cover my vagina. . Hell woman wear the fuck what you like and feel comfortable in. It is no ones business but your own.

Long skirts, and tops that show nothing. But the boys do love to slide those long demure skirts up my thighs. I am not into mutton dressed as lamb no matter how attractive a woman is. If you want to show your tits then lengthen your skirt if you want to show your legs then cover your tits like a wise woman told me, either make your lips red and less eye make up or your eyes made up with less lip a woman who has class looks sexy. A woman trying to look like her daughter , well its just a tad sad to me. nothing wrong with a little arse with class. but each to their own. my sister is 58 and has long blonde hair and she looks bloody awful, but the thinks she looks hot so if she feels good thats all that matters as if we have that magic mirror that makes us feel hot no matter what we wear then good I just do not want to have people looking at me and going..ohh dear honey give it up! in the bedroom well I will dress anyway that I like , and I can do hooker pretty darn good

Change absolutely nothing!! 40 really is the new 30. I'm 44 and I have an extensive wardrobe of bright colours, patterns and at least 20 little above the knee dresses.. I even own a pair of hot pink pants which look fabulous with a little white t-shirt and denim jacket. The secret to pulling it off in your 40's is simplicity teamed with your own unique style and a fabulous handbag to finish it off. I am also conscious of length.. while I am too short to wear below the knee(looks like I"m wearing a bag off to join a knitting class lol) I am careful not to take my dress length too far above the knee. As for jeans, nothing looks sexier than a woman in a pair of figure-hugging jeans and a pair of killer heels whether she be 20's 30's or 40's.. Mrs. Luvsilver

Elegance, class, style. Then there's the clothes and kicks that go with it. Personally I love a tailored look and soft fabrics. I think most men appreciate the tease factor, it's not what they can see it's what is hinted at, a lowcut bodice, a high slit skirt, back seam brazillian stockings with a lace top hinting at suspenders or maybe stay-ups. Sometimes less is more. Lol BUT who am I to comment, here's what the greats say: “You can never take too much care over the choice of your shoes. Too many women think that they are unimportant, but the real proof of an elegant woman is what is on her feet.” —Christian Dior fall 2011 “Fashion is not necessarily about labels. It’s not about brands. It’s about something else that comes from within you.” —Ralph Lauren at his fall 2008 runway show “Over the years I have learned that what is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it.” —Yves Saint Laurent in Paris, 1974 “A woman’s dress should be a like a barbed-wire fence: serving its purpose without obstructing the view.” —Sophia Loren in Paris, 1960 “I wear my sort of clothes to save me the trouble of deciding which clothes to wear.” —Katherine Hepburn circa 1935 “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” —Leonardo da Vinci But in essence nothing makes a woman more beautiful than the belief that she is beautiful. Clothed or not. May I also adds doing housework naked with your pearls on adds to thier natural lustre.

If it feels good then wear it.... I turned 40, 5 years ago and must admit it NEVER occured to me i should trade in my wardrobe for a new one... I wear what i am comfortable in, what i think i look good and I KNOW i have great friends who will be the first to say - 'Good God woman what the hell are you wearing????' So should i become mutton dressed up as lamb - God forbid, they will be there to tell me so. I love to show off the girls a little (weight gain should have a plus!), still wear my short shorts but havent forgotten that cellulite will let me know when to put them to rest. I remember a year or so back seeing some strappy heels in a catalogue... you know the straps going up around the ankle along the shin and commented to a friend a work - 'am i too old for these?' - she laughed at me so i bought them! Confidence is sexy
