What gets you in the 'mood'?

This morning as I pedalled my exercise bike in the spare room with only the tv for company, I happened to hear being discussed the things that put men..and women, in the mood for some lovin', especially in this day and age of increased pressures and woe. One of the things that was flagged for women was their man doing the housework, or taking care of the kids ect without being asked or prompted..it was proposed this kind of thing will put her in a more amorous frame of mind. For men, it was their women being 'positive' about them (the male) ie complimenting him on what a good dad he is etc, how nice the garden looks after his efforts on the weekend etc. I agreed with these in the context of they make for a better 'relationship' and provide a basis for better communication but I didn't exactly see them as being great cues towards a 'sexual' contact. It led me to ponder the question.. 'WHAT GET'S YOU IN THE MOOD?' For me personally, I love it when my husband slaps my butt in the aisles of Coles..or plants a smoocher on me at the checkout, or we read the prose in the card section and crack up laughing at the norty but nice ones, those stolen episodes of frivolity which often slip by the wayside in long term relationships or those newer ones that are floundering under the burden of today's pressurised lifestyle. For me, it is those moments that fire my sexuality and remind me, no matter how long we are together or how old we get, how much weight we have gained or how deep the wrinkles, we can still enjoy the 'fun' of flirting and sexual 'play'.

    Lolz.. you're surely not trying to lay the old "do the Housework" myth on this next unsuspecting generation of suckers are you? We are emancipated! We control our own sexual destiny. If we want sex, we don't have to wait until you're in the mood.. we go out and get it from someone else if that's what it takes. When will women learn that they do not control men by opening and closing their legs. "Do the washing up" for a sex reward.. lmfao.. how passe. Hugs Stalky

    Can vouch that its a myth, well in my case anyway! Keep em busy in the home, cause if they have to much free time....they go shopping.....   Cheers Nev

    Agree with you in that women have been trying to convince men that if they do housework they will be rewarded with sex for a long time. This is so not true (I know it's not what you think Aly, only what you heard on the radio!) And I also agree that women have been rewarding men with sex since time began (and that's ok by me!!!!) But I disagree with you when you say that men just go and get sex from somewhere else when they aren't in the mood. Not the path to eternal marital bliss, one would suspect. If felicity was in the mood as often as I am, nothing would EVER get done (including the housework!!) Felicity gets in the mood when she is complimented, when I surprise her with dessert or flowers or when the kids are at Grandmas!!!

    We are always in the mood, but yes public places and flirting are a big turn on for both of us..teasing, subtle words in ears make us hot and gets the imagination going.     Housework is tedious.. When I'm doing housework I'm thinking, Don't use too much washing powder, it's caustic and makes clothes fray, vacuum the top of the skirting boards so they're easier to wipe afterwards, did I put a dishwasher cleaner through already this week? How old is that sponge? Fuck it throw it out and use a fresh one anyway... Was it blue or green sponge for kitchen bench? Fuck it throw them all out, be careful not to walk the shower cleaner through the carpet it's got bleach in it, separate the whites & blacks, another pile for colors and one for 1t wash stuff, Nappisan the school uniforms.... Who could possibly feel like sex after that? You'll find me having a nanna nap after a day of housework. Want to turn me on? Hire me a housekeeper!

    ..but I get your point. Not everyone is wired the same way and a couple need to be on the same page with this. Many a relationship has failed because couples just cant synchronise their desires. Its a shame but the differences are what makes us both complex and human.The effort however from one to synchronise with the other is always worth it, and I love your comments about stolen moments in shopping aisles. I was with a girl yesterday who I had just met and she was quick to communicate how horny she was and how she loved the thrill of the quickie..she says she is into fun, casual relationships with lots of intensity within a moment followed by ample space to be one's self. At least she communicates her desires and it works, she has me calling her..well lets not go there.The point is that communication both verbal and non-verbal direct or in-direct and your ability to read those signs is the key to being on the same page. And when you are on the same page a satisfying and fullfiling relationship results.

    or a spank on the ass in public like u said. actually most things in public are always exciting and a turn on. and if my guy does something real sweet for me, like cooking dinner or suprising me then i do want to be closer. also anything that involves water, like if we;re in the spa together, or if he's in the shower. or in his work clothes, that a real turn on aswell.
