That is one of the first things I want to know as well...It can, sometimes (not always) tell you something about them as a person/couple. I never have a problem answering if they want to ask either. I design and run Educational/Academic tourism programs for American Colleges. My actual degree is d.psych, but when I used to tell people I was a Psychologist (When I was working in the field) people would always freak out or make Freud comments! Mich

I ask about work as it gives something to talk about. Especially if you get someone that gives two or three word answers. They will usually become more verbose about thier work. I beleive that as in life, our work ability should be versatile as well. If one avenue of employment is not available, then we should have multi skills. I have worked in restaurants, bars, 20 years in and out of the shearing industry and am a qualified wool classer, Seamtress and sample machinist...fashion industry, Associate diploma in Accounting, Bachleor of Commerce/education and currently working on a second degree in Sociology. The most fun job I had was working for a pottery place and I got paid to make mud pies. Currently employed as a Foster carer.

Strange job title really as I don't have sex with my clients. I am a professional Bondage Mistress but my vanilla friends think I am either unemployed, doing domestic management or in some cases an alternative therapist. I don't mind people knowing what I do but they mind knowing what I do if you know what I mean. I have taken up race car driving so maybe I should just call myself a race car driver. If anyone can come up with another vanilla description (be nice) I would like to hear it.

Import Non toxic paint into aussie, painter and artisan now for too many years, love the life of being able to paint and create a nice living enviroment for people who suffer with so many of todays allergies. The european influence of italy is certainly dominant in the paints that we can use today and create some awesome effects. now teaching my new wife how to do, so i can take life more easy.hihih.

A male user asked this some time ago and actually copped a lot of flak for daring to ask. Naturally MRS Foreverlove is going to get a much more positive response! I'll bet she makes purrrrty art too! I won't say exactly but I'll say as much that I do some kind of work in the human services/people-helping kind of profession. Does that fit with your Slippery picture, MRS Foreverlove, or was that another unexpected one? Fionabee and I could "talk shop" sometime.

is the description on my mail signature, but my job description varies from day to day. It is probably the most antiquated and conservative aspect of a very conservative industry. I'm good at what I do but people's eyes glaze over if I try to describe it to them, then they always say I'm the last person they would imagine doing what I do..For this reason, I hate people asking me what I do for a living. I don't define myself by what I do and hence try not to define people by what they do. My favourite initial conversations are those that flow easily without work ever being mentioned.

I have been selling my art for close to 10 years now, and TBH, I don't understand the interest! LOL I do pop art/stencil style art. All handpainted - I like to be completely involved in the creative process... I did a handful of landscapes when I was about 16 - beaches, oceans etc and sold them all to random people... but no longer do that style - so they pretty much got a 1-of-a-kind Mrs FL work. Yep the big fella did get some flack as it really seemed as though he asked just to be able to repeat how good he was, but who knows? Mrs Forever love certainly has asked in a nicer way and shows more interest in others that herself, just the way it seems to me!SO arghh yes we also love when conversation flows without this question needing to be asked. We know we've found people we gel with when it gets to the second or third time we've met them before someone says, "oh by the way what do you do for work?"Both our jobs involve caring intimately for people, takes a lot of trust and can be quite stressful but also very rewarding. Our work days are very intense so we really don't want to talk about the ins and outs of our work when we're relaxing but it seems that others find our jobs interesting and if we're asked this question then that's where the conversation will head.If it helps define us then we'd prefer be asked what our dream job would be, well one of us would be a race car driver and the other probably happy to be a professional present wrapper.

So cool to find someone who likes wrapping presents to the extent that I do. Never thought about the whole "dream job" thing... I know for (Mr), he would love to own his own fishing charter type thing... Take all the foreigners out fishing a few days a week... Bliss! As for me... I really love what I do, so I suppose I am doing my "dream job"... The only thing that would make it better, would be more time to concentrate on it! Home duties and children take up the majority of my time, these days! (MRS) .

I am an artist. I have a penchant for the vernacular.... I think acadweemics will have us intullectualise art ignoring the all important vibe, consequently I like serendipity. I basically hate politics. I don't think people need to speak to each other to connect intimately. There's too much emphasis on words and too easily we look for the words but forget how beautiful the characters are that form them. I wanna play with your alphabet!HugsStalky

Colour is also such an important part of everyones lifes, but maybe black and white rules the day. interesting though how from one state to another state within australia, the colour pallette changes, melbourne for instance is so conservative and typically boring, wereas, queenslanders have the light hearted approach to be who they are or want to be, and not governed by what the next door neighbour will think. look forward to your posts stalky, keep them coming, they brighten my day.

Denial is not a river in Africa,Incognito Bella..and we all know Goldman Sachs and Lehman engineered the whole thing with the help of you sneaky Financial Planners around the world. If you need help figuring out an exit strategy for your Cook Island Trust or repatriation of fund via Nauru...drop me a note? | I really am an entrepreneur with my hands in several fires...capital market analyst and private consultancy sector investment, I actually get paid for wagging my rod around and have some global business interests that keep me up way too late at night. I'm also a part time internet terrorist and run a few websites just for fun. Basically, that's the long way around saying that I have been gainfully unemployed for more years that I will admit to in public | My dream job...too easy. I would love to kick back in Belize and skin all those lazy tourist that can't speak Spanish into paying me to translate and making sure the locals charge them outrageous prices that they think are a bargain at half the price. I really don't have any ambition other than global domination...let's face it, it so screwed up now the only way fro here is up. | Outside of that...I got nuthin'.

I am currently a lady of leisure. Have been for the past year since my father died. I was his carer prior to that for nearly 2 years. I am in the unenviable position, at my age, of still not knowing what I want to be when I grow up! I have turned my hands to many things over the years. A carer for the elderly and disabled, a professional photographer, worked in retail, stints in offices and even time as a picture framer and as a handy woman! Most of my life though has been spent in kitchens as I am a chef. Also have a B.App.Sc. in Environmental Management and Tourism that I have done nothing with since graduating in 2001. Oh, and I spent several years travelling the eastern three states as a professional snake and crocodile show presenter as well!! Used to pack up my car and a trailer with a pit and lots of deadly and not so deadly fauna and go off and do shows at shopping centres, schools, medical conferences and country shows. Loved it! I'll still go out and catch and relocate the odd snake in a friends yard if my services are required. Looking at getting back into employment very soon. Doing what? Who knows? As long as I can fit in time for some fishing I don't really care what the day to day job is!Kisses all,L

Hello All, some interesting comments here Incognito Bella well done, J is also a Financial Planner and I am 1 of those hated and despised ( by Financial Planners anyway) Shares and Futures traders. I am also about to launch a new business for people who would love to trade shares, forex, futures etc, but who haven't got the time to devote to learning. Most FP's hate that i can better returns than they can I think that asking what people do is really just a part of getting to know someone as part of the introduction and getting to kow you process. If you want to see what caused the GFC (midnight it was not as simple as you put it) Gillian Tett wrote a book called Fools Gold which explains it all very well with names, places and times. Gillian was head of Global Markets reporting to the Financial Times in London for 15 years and does know what she is talking about. RHP has been very good for us, we have met some very, very great people and developed some very strong friendships as well as having some fantastic sexual adventures end enjoying our wonderful hobby, meeting new people and exploring sex with them. Bella, maybe we should get together and explore the intimate details which we all have - lol. Happy sexual times to everyone - J & Pete

Hi! Honey :) I'm not judging you for being unemployed. It is a temporary set back one you needed to take because your Life is transforming.Your approach to Life issues and People in it is changing too. However you need to bring balance to your Innerself your self worth too, so you're ready for the Opportunities that will be coming your way once you pass this Obstacle ,.It won't be easy nor will it go away in a week this is a Major Time of Learning and upheaval for you. Don't dispare all will come thro; for you .a "New Beginning" Your vibes are telling me that you are feeling emotionally stressed even overwhelmed or unable to fix this issue alone . You're used to being in contro of your Life and situaions .Sometimes as in your case the best thing is to step back and allow the Universe to help you thro; this. Just ask for insight, support to give you the strength to learn Pos; lessons from this experience, grow, move forward along your Path. It seems quite strongly from your vibes ,another or more are involved. I won't go into detail what I know, but Hun all you can do is control the way you deal with the issue and your emotions ,allow the others involved to do that for themselves too it is their journey as well. Good Luck with it . Ciao Lu :)

We have seen M's career in education blossom very quickly .. having business acumen really helps if you want to advance. She is now the academic director of an international school ... overseas. Hope to join her over there in the near future. Which really sucks for me .. I was a builder by trade and have retired prematurely to be a full time carer for our disabled son and a housedad to the other three ... traded air compressors for ovens, tools for pots n pans and nails for sewing needles. Makes it extremely difficult to meet people when we only get to see each otherl every 6 months or so.

I would like to know what a person does however its not a big priority. Just an indication and MIGHT point to some possible limitations. I personally have a well paid, responsible job in the resources industry. Although I live in Freo I work in Perth.

Social Services and just quit from that yesterday. Worked in six plus male prisons delivering programs. My degree is in Anthropology. I never stop doing study, just part of what I need to do in life, always doing a course of some kind. I am now into erotic photography, a new thing for me and love it. All my clothes have a dab of paint on them somewhere, I never learn not to touch a painting when I am NOT in my painting clothes! I think there is an artist in everybody.
