Depends on what side of the line you want to play on...as "most any old candle" will do and most of those are close to pure paraffin with a melting point ranging around 50c to 66c depending on the purity. Personally I thinks that's a bit hot. | Some adult shops sell scented and exotic candles for that...some have a higher mix of other ingredients that require less heat however may irritate sensitive skin. | Best I have found albeit on the more sensual side is the candles that you can purchase that are also used for aromatherapy in ear waxing. These come in a variety of scents and in the main are hypo-allergenic. The good part is that they are also conical and the wax can be dripped where you want it. Too with a bit of practise...you can actually get the wax to run the length of the cone and fall precisely on the skin at a much lower temperature....thus more sensual and warming rather than overly hot and buring the recipient. | Other than that...I got nuthin'

Hold them up higher to begin with, itnallows the wax to cool a little during the drop and you can work toward getting closer/hotter.Avoid beeswax and cheap coloured or utility candles that have a high plastic content, have first aid products for burns on hand and do a quick check for flammables in the area before you get carried away in the heat (bad pun) of the moment.Drop sheets are a good idea too. Getting wax out of carpet is annoying.xx Sarah

You can drop the wax wherever you like - even the naughty bits!

I'd advise caution, exploringfunnow. Genitals and nipples will feel the heat more for a start as well as burn easier. Hot wax that might be tolerable on the skin could be at burning temperature on sensitive bits. And this an obvious one, never try to drip it inside the anus or vagina. If you're going to experiment with this I'd think the more "external" bits would be the farthest you'd like to go. For me I'd rather just have the tease of getting it dripped near my genitals rather than crossing that line. . Body hair is not a friend of wax. If wax does set in body hair (or as Sarah said, carpet), it can be removed by re-heating it with a hair dryer to its melting temperature and soaking it up with a paper towel. I find that rubbing down the drop zone with a thick massage oil helps to stop it sticking to skin. . As for lower temperature burning candles I haven't actually found them at adult stores. :( I've been to some very vanilla and crappy ones. Porn and dongs, sure. Lower temperature candles, enema bags? No dice. . Annnd my final recommendation is the neat little book "The Toybag Guide to Hot Wax and Temperature Play". Author's name is Spectrum and it's published by Greenery Press. I got it for under $10 with free shipping from bookdepository.co.uk

This morning I just realised that using a hair dryer to re-melt set wax on body hair wouldn't work. The temperature required would be too hot for the body. Best use that method for carpet and sheets, etc., only. Just thought I'd post that before someone roasted their bits. I don't need that on my conscience!
