Travel and the cost of adventure.

October 19 2012

Recently, as my reason for being here has changed, I've been thinking about interstate visits. Then out of the blue someone from The Bakery says they are coming to Perth and would I like to catch up?I smell another boardgame convert in the making ~evil grin~As a forum dweller for years, I'd never considered this sort of thing. But I’m really looking forward to this coffee. A face to a telephone voice. It's exciting. There's a few states that, were I to visit, I'd make sure I had time to say hi to someone I now regard as special. Any why not?But Would you travel just to meet a Baker? How many of you have people amongst your friends who are possibly worth the adventure and the cost of an air fare?

I have travelled interstate to meet a woman a few times... That was a sex thing otherwise I have incorporated meeting up with forum buddies when traveling, just a meet and greet thing. It's always interesting. :)

Yes if its to meet somone that I have a lot on common, not sexual as that can be a hit and miss. I am going to Sydney to meet up with Freya13, as we both tend to have the same funny bone.   We have talked on the phone, and it was the forums that have made us cyber friends. I have mad a lot of female and some male friends on here , without the sexual component.   When I do go far flung places they yes I can sometimes put a meet and greet into the mix. Mostly I do not do the sexual thing as I am far from home, especially if overseas and on my own and there is often no back up plan.   though in Vegas well all bets were off there and I will take those few times to my grave! As you should when you go to Vegas.   Money can be an issue for people, and its can be costly to fly somewhere, especially overseas and pay for hotels etc.   But if your going there anyway, yep go meet someone and have fun

I really don't have the time or the money to go anywhere. We still haven't finished painting our house (we've been in since Christmas) and we still haven't finished the verandah. We haven't even started the paving. If I had the time and money to travell I would plan to go somewhere where the bakers reside. Funny thing though, when I had that thread going about what would you do with the $70,000,000 jackpot a couple of months ago, I was thinking bugger going to see them. I'd just fly each and every one over here for an epic bash.

Always travelling, always considering new adventures. I flew from Sydney to Perth to spend a delightful long weekend with the first man I ever met from RHP. It was a great trip. I flew from Sydney to Melbourne to meet the love of my life, after chatting online for six months and on the phone for a week. That was the beginning of the most wonderful relationship and the first time I've ever really known what it means to love. Fly to meet someone? God yes! LRE, if you're nice to me, I might even come over and see you one day :D

I have always been a'' give me a ticket and I'll go anywhere'', kind of person.I love the smell of hot tarmacs, trains, planes and automobiles. I have never regretted any of my adventures and now in a few weeks I am off to Sydney to spend time with Tuscan and hopefully meet a few forum peeps as well. So LRE if you are ever in Briz Vegas ,come say hi x R

Freya and Tuscan? I'm thinking3-4 good cheeses and those yummy stuffed peppers. A fruity white..And Ms Wallace, I'm winking at you....I flicked a mates sister an air fair from New Zealand to come and visit me for a week in 2006. That was such a buzz. I rang her sister up and said, "Do you and your bloke want to come over for dinner and boardgames?" The answer was obviously yes. No one turns my cooking or a board game down. Her big sister greeted her in the hall...As I recall the conversation went. "What are you doing here?""Having sex."Much laughing and hugging..

Would definitely spend money on an airfare ........ It does create a sense of anticipation and excitement, adventure and doing something different ...... One of the first men I met on here was from NZ ....... I was prepared to buy the ticket to visit but he bought it before I could and made the trip over here ....... Spent a lovely, decadent weekend together ......so I would definitely purchase that airfare if I thought I would enjoy the persons company .......

I have (and do) flown up and down the east Coast for play meets, social meets and everything in between.   I have meet some lovely Bakers I normally would never have had the chance to meet because I have no issues with the travel aspect. Made some awesome friends (they know who they are) and shared some amazing experiences.   Would I do it again? In a heartbeat.   Kisses Focus

Well Freya and I are near the park, in the heart of Sydney. that’s so I can walk across the park to the ART Gallery, yeah any ideas you Sydney folk where to have a meet and greet , where we can actually talk to each other A nice quiet bar not to far to walk from the Pulman near Hyde park? any suggestions   it will be from 3pm till say 6 ish, on a Saturday November 24. the meet and greet at the gallery was good as we could actually all sit around and talk.   yep LR, I think Freya and I will have a hoot of a time in Sydney. We may just go on some adventures as well maybe a swingers,so long as we wear out Bridget Jones panties were safe as houses.   Counting the days. will put up an events thing as soon as I figure out where to hold it. No wine for me, as I will fall over! Nothing worse than a sexy old broad with wine goggles on trying to chat up an umbrella stand.

He is such an interesting man, and it doesnt always is the sex which attracts you to people . Yes definitly when you have the money and the time, hey we all live only once....what we know off, so we need to jump at this dream's and make them become reality. Otherwise we will sit up there in heaven....I know I will be there....where else could I be in my rockinchair and think, FUCK I HAVNT FUCKED HIM>>>>>LOOK at him he was hot, and I have to punsh myself for not acting on my impulse.

Like some others I have been let down in the past with traveling interstate......I had spoken a cpl in Victoria for about 2-3 months and got along very well so when they asked if I would travel I gladly agreed. Air fare, hotel for the weekend and all the additional taxi fares etc.....for a no show....no call...no nothing actually....well what can you do. I also like the people who ask on a Friday if you can come over this weekend and they are 2000kms away. I have no doubt that some will say if you are a single guy you are up against a lot of other guys...accepted....but maybe some people should be 100% sure before they ask people to travel interstate.

It's not so much the distance - it's the location, and nobody comes to Albury no matter how hot the party might be here ;-)
