We get to see it all in Queensland.....The full 2012 transit will be visible from the Pacific Ocean including Hawaii, northwestern North America, northern Asia, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, eastern Australia and the Pacific islands. Most of North America and northwestern South America will be able to see the start of the transit before sunset, while southern Asia, the Middle East, eastern Africa, western Australia, and most of Europe will be able to observe the end of the transit as the Sun rises. No portion of the transit will be visible from Portugal or southern Spain, western Africa, and the southeastern 2/3 of South America.I have been keeping my eye on whats been moving around the Constellation of Orion

Quoting 'jensman1903' You realise you're inviting jokes about Uranus. My anus is fine, not had many jokes about it ...Nudierudie there's no need to skite about how Qld gets everything. Actually, you profile pic might lead to some lovely comments about Uranus - but that would be improper to suggest that.

I had no idea, thanks for this! Having looked it up I vaguely remember it being mentioned in 2004, but I probably wrote it off as "one of those once-in-a-lifetime-astronomical-events" that come along every five years or so!   I loves me my space. I love the feeling of insignificance and scale that comes with considering the universe. I read the other day that in 4 billion or so years the Milky Way and Andromeda Galaxy are going to collide. Can't wait!     Thinking about the universe is quite liberating. It's like, if we're so inconceivably tiny that nothing matters, then all that matters is what we do with our time here and now. I'm not sure how I arrive at that logical conclusion, but it means do what you wanna do to be happy and make other people happy, and most importantly, fuck who you wanna fuck!

It's so much more than sun signs and newspaper predictions... I'd put a link to the original site I found the following venus Transit info at but RHP admin don't seem to allow that kind of thing.... "The overall picture emerging is one of facing up to reality in our relationships. If you have been deceitful in some way, been playing around or have an addiction, then you will likely face a lot of hostility from your partner or even close friends. If you are with someone whose addictions are putting a strain on your relationships, whether gambling, infidelity, drugs or porn, then you may reach a stage where you cannot let it go on. The great intensity shown in this chart means that any built up frustrations, resentment or anger, which has been poisoning a relationship, must now be released. It might get ugly"

So, technically, the Transit is one of a pair - the last one was 2004 - they occur in a pattern that repeats every 243 years, separated by long gaps of 121.5 years and 105.5 years.Anyhooo - it's a happening folks!Venus Rules, Okay!Rox

I see you're stepping out RoxThanks Mrs P: yes that's a shoe-print - set in concrete. Just in case you thought I was making tracks ... Quoting 'MrsPeachyPear' Nice pic. Thanks for keeping us up to date, I've been following this topic since you posted having read about the "Transit Pairs" in the Digest only days before. It's kind of beautiful that Venus passes by twice and then not again for another century. Second chance maybe?Hugs... Mrs P It seems that lotsa things come in pairs:- a pair of peachy pears- a pair of breasts- balls,- legs, trousers - a pair of stockings; pair of trousers and shoes. The idea of a second chance is reassuring - Venus is generous!
