To be funny or not to be funny that is the question.

November 10 2014

Is a profile that displays a sense of humour regarded as too flippant ? Who here finds humour a turn on ? Is it as important as physical features ?

Each to their own, but I like a profile with some humour in there. My friends are all happy people and we all make each other laugh, so thats maybe why I gravitate towards humorous guys on here. Add a smiling face, and Im yours!

I'm all yours. I love a funny profile and I like flippant too. If I'm borderline on attraction a funny profile will drag me over the line. I just read alfalfamale's profile and it had me chortling. Mines meant to be humorous but some don't really get it- it acts as a filter... ;-)

Don't say you have a GSOH in your profile, show it! The profiles that make me laugh have my immediate interest. (Even better when I laugh with, rather than at the writer...) As for your last question OP, I've answered it in my own profile.

Having an overwhelmingly funny side is a sign of a negative person.... Meh... I'll keep taking the piss as nothing in life deserves to be serious. - Posted from rhpmobile

May I add that "lol" after every sentence does not make me laugh at all?

Humour is a great thing as it shows intelligence, understanding, good communication and empathy. All good things to bring into the bedroom. I like Frank Sinatra saying "I like dating intelligent women, as I hate staring contests". Bring on the humour but as already said, humour is a personal thing and a lot of its in the delivery which is lost in online communication. So I guess better to keep mouth shut than speak and be considered a fool... Though yes great filter. Now who wants to help me with my research and fill out a survey for me? Questions: Username? Gender? Are you interested in sex? Will you have sex with me? Do you have a friend that would like to join us? Are you both free tonight? :)

I find some things wet-your-pants funny, and others not so much. I'm not going to appreciate everyone's attempt at humour. So, I think it's important to be yourself in your profile and trust that the people who get your sense of humour will find you. - Posted from rhpmobile

But I did have a message from a bloke recently who said my profile was full of innuendo, cliche and lies and that I obviously didn't fall into line with his values and ideals of what made a genuine lady. I was like "And your problem is?" 😂 all that because he was in Melb and at this point in time am hoping to acquaint myself with gentlemen in closer proximity. 😳 Oh well.

He/she who make woman laugh. Also make woman cum. Laughing together is a form of intimacy. Lubes the mood far better and less regrettably than alcohol. Though petty immature jokes can kill a mood more than unplanned fragrances. Know what I mean .

A LOT of profiles wax lyrical with endless self praise of their sense of humour, their sexiness, or how clever they are. etc. And then, they're not funny, they're not sexy and they're certainly not clever if the grammatical errors, spelling and lack of self evaluative relativity are an indicator of their personality. Humour is important (to me) as it tells me someone doesn't take themselves, and everything else.... so seriously... ....which is ironic as thats something else people seem to say too much..... while describing themselves waaaaaaaay too seriously.

Mmmm.... I love it when a guy has a sense of humour. I had a great message recently that turned me on, excited me and made me think and laugh in turn. Powerful stuff! Having said that, there are so many different kinds of humour that some will work for you while some will work for other people. I don't think humour comes across as flippant in a profile. If it's intelligent (and a little quirky) it does wonders for me. And a man I can laugh with is a lot more attractive than one I can't. I think the most important thing is to write your profile as yourself, that sounds dumb.... but be yourself. You will attract the kind of people who will like YOU. Pretending to be something you're not, or projecting a persona that's not true to you, is not sustainable. And it's not necessary either. x Me

A Stick. I love coming across a funny profile, some are brilliant, and let's face it, profiles and dating are pretty fertile ground for a laugh. But if it's not funny, oh dear ! I think the mostly serious ones with a twist work best.

Were standing next to each other in a paddock, munching grass and watching the passing traffic. They did this in complete silence for three hours. One cow then looked at the other, and went 'MOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!' The other cow said 'I was just about to say that.......' - Posted from rhpmobile

.. and how its perceived .. I have a awesome lot of friends who put shit on each other all the time and Im no different.. That overflows into my posts at times and while most are OK with that ' there's still some who take themselves and me far to serious ... When I read a womans profile ' I want to get a feel about the way she see's herself and dont mind a little humour provided its in keeping with the rest of what she's wanting to say about herself. However' my profile was written with the soul purpose to let the reader get a general picture of what Im about ' minus the humorous side of my personality... But bottom line is, I dont take much too serious.. Waste of positive energy...

Next thing a tractor drives past, one cow says to the other, "hey look the farmers got a new tractor!" The other cow looks up and says, "Holy shit a talking cow!!" Humour for me crates sexiness! If she hasn't got any humour she will never be sexy, no matter her physical appearance! Have a sexy day!

Not a chance. Sex, and the pursuit thereof, is a serious, serious business. There's absolutely no place for levity on this site. One only has to read all the threads about rudeness and bad behaviour to figure that out. Get with the program, people!
