I'm working on it!I love my job - it's amazing, and fulfilling, and I get to do something I love, and make a difference in people's lives every single day. Even if I did win lotto I'd still do what I'm doing now!I love spending time with my kids, they are amazing people and I'm so proud to be their mother. Moving forward, the "perfect life" will include a great co-parenting relationship with my ex, with open communication about how we continue to raise them. Having enough money in the bank to not have to stress about bills, and to be able to buy whichever book takes my fancy without having to think about it, would make me happy. The ability to overcome problems associated with distance in a very special relationship would make me happy. But apart from that, I'm happy with how things are looking. I think the problem with seeking "perfection" is that we can never quite get there, and there will always be challenges that will face us in life. I think subperthguy (I think that's his name???) said it perfectly in the "happy times" thread - we need the difficult times too. I'm ok with that. I'm ok with having a life that includes many things that others would consider "not perfect" - not owning my house, having a car that looks like it's been involved in some rally driving, having a few extra curves, dealing with difficult conversations, etc etc. All of these things are byproducts of my life. I am who I am now as the result of choices I have made. I am who I am becoming because of choices I will continue to make. And I don't always make the right ones, but I'm working on it. And I don't think I'd change anything. But if someone wants to deposit a whole lot of money in my account for no reason whatsover, that'd be just great thanks, universe!

I could retire but I don't .. It's not about the money , its about keeping in touch with my need for the social interaction with others..

I'm not bragging but I feel very fortunate. I never thought I'd be here but I'm in a good space! This is my perfect life which includes great family and friends ( even off RHP ), we are still monitoring Andy's health but good on that front and I've just made a great career choice, though I drop 10 thousand dollars annually I'll find me :) Will have to work for decades yet but it's ok. This is my perfect world, though not highly religious I thank the universe and the gorgeous people in my life for the riches they bring into it! Mary xx

Me in a high pay job that would see me earn a big fat salary, so I could save up a lot more and quicker to: a) buy several properties for investment, so I did not have to worry about what would I be living on after I retired. b) travel in Business or First class each time I go overseas for life. c) stay in a luxury five star hotel or resort every time I travel, whether it be nationally or internationally. d) look after my family more than what I can afford now and help them out financially when they needed short term fund assistance. e) sponsor 100 kids from the third world countries on ongoing basis. f) open up an orphanage in one of the third world countries. g) buy my beloved gemstones any time I wanted to. And the list goes on. But these are the things I hope to achieve one day, which I know I will as I'm currently working towards achieving them! - Posted from rhpmobile

I've never had to worry about money through my life, was I happy, no, not really, I don't blame anyone for that, just myself. Now I barely have enough to buy food, wonder how I'm going to pay the next bill, I'm the happiest I've ever been, I never dreamed I could be this happy. I used to buy brand name sunglasses etc material possessions mattered, they no longer do, and it's very freeing. Travelling first class however? hmm in the right company some real fun could be had there

Not perfect but it is what it is. I should be where I feel my perfect life should be in a year or so. Off the grid, self sufficient and happy surrounded by my little zoo.

Life needs its imperfections in order to be perfect. Otherwise it's just beige.

is probably the key word...Just enough of the basics. Extravagance doesn't mean much to me.

What an interesting take on perfection, and life is never 'beige' for me so i agree. It's the same as making mistakes, if they're really bad ones, you never make them again, all helps mould us and i love that, but nice one, well said! - Posted from rhpmobile

I get your point and respect your perspective in relation to money won't make one happy, that's why all the things I listed in my earlier post were still an imaginary perfect life 😛 I would not be on RHP if I was desperate for money because, like you said, I would be consumed by a high pay job and would not have much of a life left to enjoy. However, having said the above, I have been sponsoring kids from third world countries for many years and I feel satisfied and content from doing so because, knowing that my existence in this world can help to contribute to the society in some form is an emotional fulfillment. I just don't have the finance to sponsor enough and hence I hope I can do more in the future. I didn't come from a wealthy family and had gone through some tough times in my growing up, so I appreciate life in a different way even though it seems all just about money, but without money, I cannot get very far with my dreams and passions. - Posted from rhpmobile

what would bring me ultimate happiness in life. Perhaps I might jinx it and maybe just maybe it will happen just because I'm deserving enough for it to happen.

Excess for me isn't necessary, as I'm sure it's not for you, just enough to continue happily, nicely put

I think the perfect life is to be able to live every day to the fullest as you never know if there's going to be another. To have enough resources to do whatever one wishes whenever...Have the love of family and friends...Be blessed with good health...

Life needs light and shade. A favourite quote... "Keep your face always towards the sunshine and the shadows will fall behind you". A perfect life for me is about the people in my life and the attitude I choose.
