The inner labia.... When is it too big??

I am sure you can all add to these, but a couple of terms I am aware of for a woman's inner labia are 'flaps' or 'saddle bags'.....My question is - "when are they classed as too big"? I recently watched an episode of Embarrassing bodies, I am not sure who is familiar with this show but OH MY GOD, they show some bits of the body on bodies that I would much rather kept under wraps!! A young woman (23ish) attended the clinic because she felt her inner labia was too big, even her mother agreed and apparently her siblings constantly teased her about the way she looked!! Hearing all this had me so keen to see what she had going on down in her panties!! But when she showed the doctor (and the world!) I was incredibly surprised to see, what I thought was an average looking VagJJ.... But they still sent her to a surgeon, who literally chopped off a centimetre or so each side! OUCH!! She was very happy with the end result, so hopefully this woman can now have a fabulously 'normal' sex life without being embarrassed and perhaps give her siblings a deserving slap!I am not going to divulge the size of my inner sanctum, but I have absolutely no issue, neither have my lovers, with the way I look and I have looked this way for years, even pre-cherubs (which was a few years ago now!) too big or too small in my opinion.An odd thing for siblings to do ,compare and critisise their pink bits to the pont where one has to undergo surgery.What on earth was her mother thinking ?There is so much genital mutilation in developing nations,how sad that a young woman would willingly subject herself to something like this.

I'd say labia are too long when they cause serious physical or mental issues, or interfere with normal daily activities. For example: constant pain because the labia are pressed together, problems with sex or even just sitting down.

It's the last frontier isn't it? Once we've drilled every other possible body size/shape/colour issue into the female psyche we need to start worrying about what is / isn't a socially acceptable vagina. . Personally, if they're big enough to wear as a hat or they need to be lifted up an popped on your lap when you sit down, I would say they are too big, solely from a practical view.

Love the show, I think it's hilarious, I remember one girl who was too embarressed to about her boobs which were different sizes that she would only ever get undressed or have sex in complete darkness. Without having seen them all, how could I say... so, let's see them! ;) I love the differences between bodies, and I'm yet to find one which didn't have beauty somehow and somewhere. As for labia... physical discomfort sounds like the only reason to be worried about them. Psychological discomfort just comes from dumb tv like that mentioned!

Do your lips hang low?Do they wobble too and fro?Can you tie 'em in a knot? Can you ...So on and so forthI've never heard of it being an issue until that episode (saw it too) and compared to a lot of the other issues (like the woman with the episiotomy complications) it didn't seem that severe. She was a beautiful woman, and it was barely noticable while she was standing up, and it seems ridiculous that her friends and family would tease her about it (maybe a desperate put down during a petty argument?)It was affecting her confidence and sex life so the operation isn't something I'd look down on, but I doubt it would have been an issue if the people around her weren't so shallow

OMG I agree if you can tie a knot in them or use them as a pair of ear muffs when you go down that's getting a bit on the large size!
