Dictate that female anatomy must not be overtly visible. The laws dictate that the paper cut is an acceptable form of nudity for the general public, So there fore if a model has some dangly bits then they are air brushed out to satisfy censorship requirements. Its a real shame that women feel pressured to live up to some lofty ideal but when you look at porn there ia s wide range of diversity. I personally dont think the Brazilian is a fault as guys are under as much pressure to have a 6 pack or biceps. On the flip side I recently read a population health article that was stating that pubic lice (crabs) have just about become extinct in western populations. This was largely due to the fact that both women and men are shaving. Puts a whole new bent to “shaving for a cause”. On a more serious note, we have gone crazy on the perfect body type.

Also it makes no difference to how good sex feels for both parties so I see no point in messing around with your body. I had my gallbladder out this year and this surgery has given me digestive issues .After this I can't imagine why anyone would go under the knife for surgery that isn't needed what side effects could there be? where I thought it was possibly medically necessary and I've seen quite a few labiaplasties performed. The case I refer to was a young woman who was a triathlete and her labia minora protruded several inches outside her labia majora. Because her profession necessitated riding a bike a lot of the time, her labia was swollen, irritated and looked incredibly sore. Every other case I've seen involved removing tissue from a perfectly pretty looking pussy. As with most women who do it there was nothing wrong with her vulva or labia, but both her sister and some guys she had been with had made comments and made her very insecure about it. I don't agree with the idea of labiaplasty unless there is a reason beyond the cosmetic Litonya. . The whole trend sounds disturbing, especially that it's growing in popularity. I really hope it's only available to adults as cosmetic surgery, because it's something you're pretty much stuck with. . Is the problem here. It's blamed for pretty much everything else, so why not lump it in here too ? Seriously, we've arrived into this century with pretty much instant communication from just about anywhere in the world, and fashions and fads are adopted nearly as quickly as they are invented. Step back a few years, and you had reasonably well defined cultural identities that you could identify with. Take a look for instance, men with hairy backs / bodies were known from certain ethnic backgrounds, people with blonde hair were also from certain other ethnic areas, Africans and African Americans actually only had black hair, Brazilian waxes were actually confined to Brazil, and so on. Someone overseas comes up with some new 'fashion statement' to do with their body, and someone in another part of the world will take it on board. Same with the subject of the OP - someone decided they wanted to alter their appearance because they did not find it conformed to what they possibly saw on someone else, and hey presto, someone else decided there was money to be made. As long as we have people who can't accept there is a wide variety in the way we are formed, this trend is likely to continue, and others will continue to profit from performing various procedures. In that case to me it's a bit different to other forms of cosmetic surgery where someone can see all the different variations in the population and knows that they are doing it for purely cosmetic reasons. Having said that, if a woman has all the relevant knowledge she needs to make an informed decision and still wants to go ahead with a labiaplasty, it is ultimately her choice and it could be compared to other forms of more 'accepted' cosmetic enhancement.

A few years ago there was an art project called 'The Great Wall of Vagina'. They took castings (you can look at the process of how they did it) of real women's vulvas in order to show the beauty and diversity contained in the underwear of a variety of women. Maybe they should use something like that (there is a book) to show women interested in this type of surgery the beauty of having something similar, yet different. Personally, in a sexual way.. There is nothing wrong with surgery, its not like these women or anyone getting cosmetic surgery are retarded and not aware of the facts, risks, and discomfort involved. If the reason is because they want to satisfy someone else's needs should we blame the other? Women spend so much on hair, nails, skin, etc It is standard practice to straighten teeth in teenagers even though a large percentage of the teeth would better of as is. Moles, warts, birthmarks routinely go under the knife for no reason but cosmetic. We get tattoos, piercings and stranger in the name of vanity. We (well not me) worship the plastic A list by throwing money their way for no discernible reason but to be closer to god (metaphor) and perfection. The vast majority of people that preen, prune, cut, inject, colour, straighten and whatever actually feel better for it and are glad they have done what has be done. Why dis them. how would you feel reading some of the comments here after just having the ordinary nipped and tucked. Sure there is risk in all forms of surgery, but there is more risk driving to the surgery. The quest for perfection is for the vain, and who are we to judge another for their life choices. Is it not better to have more happy people than sad. At least we no longer use arsenic to rose our cheeks, lead to redden our lips, or mercury to highlight our eyes. Surgery is a safe way for someone to feel better, its not like they are tattooing their faces on some rebellious teenage mission. The human body is beautiful even after surgery. On a side note. NASA's Voyager 1 and 2 now leaving our solar system each have a gold record bolted to them. On these records are engraved a naked man and woman. At the time in the mid 70s NASA was pressured by conservatives to remove the line down the middle of the pussy. Seems our vanity extends out even to the aliens if ever found. These gold records will most likely out live the sun and will remain pristine for tens of billions of years along with the perfect misrepresentation of the female body.

My opinion is that it is the individuals choice to alter their body to what they want or feel comfortable with. My issue is that where a procedure is not a necessary one, is who pays for it? A breast reduction where someone is in discomfort due to the weight is necessary, having enhancement because one wants the perfect shape is not. The story of the triathlete and being unable to ride with out extreme discomfort, goes into the necessary pile. Would I expect the tax payer to give me peck implants or alter the size or shape of my penis ....NO. I think that things like gastric surgery (maybe even liposuction) should be available on medicare, as the have other health benefits for society, but these other sorts of procedures should be the responsibility of the individual. Everyone has the right to change what they want about themselves, but not at public expense! That's where its gone crazy. Our public health system is under enough strain as it is!

Called, 'FORE SKIN or not... :-S', rather than the ubiqitous, 'Cut or Uncut'. My question was, "How do others feel about performing circumcision on babies where there is no real medical reason for it knowing that there are medical reasons against it". The thread got quite indepth. . I do have a fondness fore skin and a belief in our right to our choices regarding our bodies. :-)

I have long stood by the fact that men and women are much more alike than different. Yes till about 3months the only way to tell what sex we are is via DNA and some subtle hormonal indicators, then till around the age of puberty the structure of our brains are completely indistinguishable and we are only different in form. After puberty our form is set but until that time (age 7-13) we could become either. But I am now straying of topic. Thanks again for the heads up on the Foreskin thread, was very interesting to read about the experiences of those that had it removed as adults. If possible I would like to give my doctors a good talking to, something like "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING!!!" but will leave that for some weird dream. Though I will never be 100% happy in the skin I am in, I am happily in with the vast majority of people that are not so vain as to need anything changed.
