Occasionally Rooibos or when I'm feeling particularly brave, Russian Caravan. Mostly English Breakfast, or at home, Madura original.   I tend to enjoy most herbal teas designed to help digestion - ginger, licorice etc.   Yay for tea!

Hi, coming from a good English family and I spent some time growing up on a tea estate, how could I not love tea. I was shown some of the delicate arts of tea making and happy to share them for those who do not know them. There are a few things that can really make a difference. For an extra special cup of tea. Firstly use pure water or rain water. Always use a tea pot; fill the tea pot and cups with very hot water, while the kettle is on the boil. It is important to fill the kettle with fresh never boiled before water and when it is nearly boiled. Drain the tea pot and put in one heaped teaspoon of good tea, per cup wanted and one for the pot (two for the pot if it is a big pot). Now the secret, just before the water boils tip it into the (hot) pot; it is important that the oxygen is not boiled out of the water (never fill the pot with water, there needs to be a space) . It is the oxygen that will release the flavour. Enjoy in a relaxed way, with a nice ambiance. Mr. Dolphin P.S. If you leave the tea to brew for too long it will be strong and bitter.

I have to agree with Jean Luc Picard. It has to be Earl Grey, hot! I did try cold Earl Grey at T2 once and it is quite nice but nothing beats hot Earl Grey.I enjoy the flavours of Assam Bold from Twinings. If you are into milky tea, the Chai Latte powder by David Rio is fantastic. Depends on the tea you are drinking, the temperature of the water makes a difference in taste. Get a variable temperature kettle. If not, wait for the water to cool down a bit before making green/oolong tea. A friend of mine mixes ice water with hot water to get the temperature right. You should heat up your cup before drinking. Mixing your own teas is very enjoyable. The right flavour for any occasion.

Quoting 'repeter90' My every morning starts with ...orange pekoe, earl grey, lapsang souchong, green... and some herbal. That tea has to have been created by a committee. It gets some getting used to. Still not my favourite tea.  Cheekyarses, I have my bow tie ready.

Right now I'm drinking green tea with jasmine which is my favourite. I also like chai (especially done in a saucepan like the indians do it) peppermint tea and rose with vanilla. I like all kinds of blends too. For regular black tea I like English breakfast the most.

I drink tea purely just to have the tim tams that go with it (well, what I entitle myself to).Just a note for the health conscious - recommended that with each cup of tea or coffee daily, that you have a cup of water in addition to the daily recommended intake

My favourites is Dilmah English toffee and peppermint. To die for. Unfortunately they have taken it off the market so I have to ration my last box. Otherwise I drink the vanilla and rose. Guess they will take that off soon as well. If anyone in Perth ever sees the English toffee please tell me where it is.

Is that to replenish your body as tea is a diuretic?

I last had it at a Turkish restaurant in Sydney (Sahara I think it was called). I'll go to T2 to get my apple tea fix now. I went to a Moroccan restaurant and enjoyed their mint tea. I buy my tea from small boutique tea shops in Perth or Melbourne.

Is that to replenish your body as tea is a diuretic? BINGO! seeing also that the SKIN is the largest organ of the body, it is the last to receive any form of liquid. Also most people these days work in highly AC environments which more than double the dehydration effect. My rules for tea/ coffee is not to drink it after 1pm. Then again people do and are fine as they have built a tolerance to it already. Just lay off the sugars - speaking from a professional stand point.

Being a nice English lass, tea is my hot beverage of choice (of course). And it's commonly understood amongst us Poms that a good cuppa solves ANY problem. Fact. Now that this is understood, I can tell you that I have my tea imported! I drink loose leaf 'Yorkshire Tea' that my delightful Mum packages up for me and posts monthly. It's brewed in a china pot, with water still on the boil - one heaped teaspoon per person plus one 'for the pot'. Allow to brew, then stir before pouring. Even my Aussie Pals (somewhat reluctantly) agree that my brew is superior.I also have the 'emergency back up' PG tips (also imported) but in teabags that I can get from my local Coles.Tea! Love it!Mrs IAT

Try 2 teaspoons of Pu Erh with 1/4-1/2 teaspoon of Spi Chi mix in the blend. Trust me. its amazing! Use the in cup infuser and you`ll get 4-5 cups out of the one mix. The 2nd and 3rd will be the better ones as Pu Erh is qute a strong tea and improves after its 1st brew.Enjoy!
