Thank God ( Allah,Buddha,Dionysus,Mithra)or your chosen Deity, for a searchable forumIt might just stop the complaining from the forum regulars that certain subjects have been done to death, and the Newcomers may just be able to avoid being Pixel bashed for raising topics that have been done in the past, that they were not around to see or be part of.I agree ET that a help post would be beneficialThank You....Thank You...Thank You RHP

I think that the techo-dudes need to get together and do some serious work. Things dont work, people get frustrated and stay away. No posters, no members and no site Toooooo easy. I agree with fionabee A little bit of forward notification re tags etc would have been a good idea too!! (Is this site run from Canberra?!!) Have a Good 'un anyway!

What they should do is compile the list of tags they want us to use first and then if anyone enters a new tag have it go through the same approval process as the posts themselves

anyone please Could somebody explain how to use the tags. Have been away for a while and came back to find I was unable to post. Was getting quite frustrated when all attempts were being rejected and then this thread finally accepted my ridiculous "Bloomin tags" posting - Oh the shame!!! That definately wasn't meant to go through!KK xox P.S did message rhp but still waiting...

Grrrrrr!.It seems my first post got lost in the mail. So here's a summary, short and sharp..Due to the lack of a help file and absence of any information from rhp, it seems that we should help each other out during this time of tagging crisis. I'm assuming that a lot of people are having trouble posting (as I did) and cannot find answers to help them..So, How to tag.Step 1 - Type anything you want in the tag field (obviously if it's a reference to the post it'll be helpful when searching),Step 2 - Hit ENTER (The tag will now be a shaded blue bubble with an x next to it if you'd like to delete that tag),Step 3 - Click on the Post your Comment button..Hopefully people needing help will look at this thread or search and find what they're looking for. .CheersRusty

Tags? Clothes tags are itchy, annoying bits of cloth that leave holes if not removed carefully. Price tags are always stickiest when the item is a gift and therefore removal is impossible without leaving a yukky mess. And I never enjoyed a game of tag because I am not a fast runner so never got to tag anyone.I will leave my tag box smooth, white and unmolested by anything that looks like words.

Why do we need tags?Is it some sort of new rhp game....."tag, your it" ?Why do some posts appear with a tag and some dont?

Some people manage to post with out a tag .. like RUBY above but with the rest of us ... it wont let us post unless we put a tag .. So I'm more after the HOW did they do it .. rather than the WHY do some appear and others don't ..

There is a certain logic to keeping tags for searches. Reduces processing loads and search times. But that is only going to work when you control tags that are used. So ... sorry to spoil MsSarah's fun ... the person vreifying and approving posts should be the person adding the tags and then only to the first post. Leaves the rest of us to do what we do best and have fun.

It seems most people have adapted to the tagging feature that we have included in Forums but for those who are unfamiliar with the concept, here's some information:What? - Tagging is simply a means to add descriptors or keywords to a Forum topic. It is now only something the original poster needs to do to a new topic started by them. You do not need to add them to a reply post if you are responding to a topic but if you feel that you'd like to add some relevant keywords, then the option is there to do so.Why? - RHP will be looking at developing a keyword search feature for forums in the near future but in order to do so, we need a bank of popular search terms. We have populated the bank with common search terms already but the option is there for people to add their own. You may want to add 'fruit sex'. We just haven't thought about that.How? - In the relevant space below the area to reply to a topic, or when starting a topic, just type in keywords that you feel is relevant to your post (up to five terms). If the term already exists, give the system some time to bring it up and then click on it. If it doesn't already exist, then you can type it in and go on to post your reply or topic. Keywords are moderated so putting in rubbish terms (ie - like dickhead) will either be removed if not relevant, or if approved, when someone chooses to search for 'dickheads', then your forum post will be associated with that word. Please therefore be careful of what you type in.Ultimately, we hope the keywords will be mostly useful for people who want to bring up forum topics from years ago that is relevant to their interests. We may also develop a tag cloud so people can see the most popular search terms, and other fun features.If you have further questions, please refer them to our tech support team via Help tickets. Once we have fleshed out the system and ironed out glitches, we will post a Help topic in Help FAQ.
