TRUST!

Over the last few days alot has happened in my area of TRUST.... Once my trust has been broken, I find it very hard to gain the confidence back in letting people enter my life! When you find out a good friend has lied to you for over 6mths - when you have been their for them whenever they needed you..... Then bang, the real truth comes out! Do you forgive or walk away??

I would confront them first then I either walk away forever or keep my distance. Once bitten twice shy.

I cut all ties I do it all the time and its a bad habit that doesnt give me any comfort or closure.......but who knows what your situation is and will you really be told the truth??Sometimes I forgive.

But basically the old saying goes...do it to you once..their fault, do it you twice, your fault.... People fundamentally dont change..and a true friend would never betray you... Sure forgiveness is a greater and better option but that doesnt mean you forget, nor does it mean you have to keep this person in your life....I guess what you have to weigh up is....do they add value to your life now after what they just did to you ?

if the trust is lost i walk away and generally keep that person at arms length

I do forgive, but I never forget! And yes I agree 'fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me' Lets say, my eyes open!!

what they lied to you about,I assume it is a biggie...we all do stupid things and sometimes we lie about stupid things for equally stupid reasons. How important is their friendship to you?Do they drain your energy or do the inspire and nurture you?Only you can decide because only you know in your heart what you should do.Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing.Wait until the dust has settled and take the long view.

I had a girl that was my best friend in the world....We were inseperable for 25 years and in all those years she lied to me constantly! In the end it wore me down and with heavy heart I cut the ties! That was about 17 years ago now and I still think of her and miss her...but if I saw her...I would keep walking as I did about 10 years ago as I dont think she will ever change! xFunlovingx

I say to them, "I forgive you for lying to me for these last 6 months. I am going to miss you more than you can ever know. Thank you for all the wonderful times that we have shared together. Good-bye"Ricky

If my trust is broken in any way I'm gone. I don't forgive, I don't forget, I cut all ties. It's a lonely and difficult way to live but I've been screwed over too many times to ever really properly trust anyone.

i say walk away......if she didnt respect you enough not to lie, she isnt worth being in your life.xx
