I can't wait to see how this market research is going to influence new swinger and sex-fiend friendly booze ;) Bottle design? maybe lids with a little lever/handle instead of a round lid - lube makes bottle tops slippery in the hand - give the handle a little kink, just like its audience.

Mix up my beers, trying different ones. A lot like sex really, mix it up, try different ones. And yes the lazy yak is worthy of a session

Funk Cider here in Perth (near swan valley) Always some interesting new combination or flavour to try. Next on the list is Strawberry/Lemon/Mint if there's any left. - Posted from rhpmobile

The new style thats all the rage is called NEIPA, New England IPA. Its a style that's all about hops, not overly bitter but a big emphasis on flavour, aroma and mouthfeel, due to the technicalities of the process the beer is cloudy but not in a yeasty muddy way like Coopers. To date the benchmark is Feral's Biggie Juicy but there are quite a few others, I have Hop Nations Jedi Juice in the fridge but haven't tried it yet, today is Friday so later its "goin' down". Just the names are fun.Be a good Aussie and support your local brewery.

Yes the NEIPA is all the rage and it’s good to find one made correctly - I’m glad I get to make craft beer for a living, plenty of market research ;) Personally I like Belgian styles in the hot weather like a white ale (white rabbit) or saison (bridge road make some great ones). I hope you're not slagging off Coopers. It's one of the last great Aussie breweries...and it's home-brew at a commercial level.

I’d take it over VB any day but the new beers show it up for what it is, an anachronism.

That is a bit of an elitist way of thinking. There are plenty of good beers which were perfected a long time ago and don't need to have a make over every 15.6 months. I would hazard a guess that many of today's beers will not make it to a perpetual beer status while many of the classic beers will keep on keeping on. The German Rheinheitsegebott purity laws could have saved us from chile and lime infusion. Got to love the brewing equivalent of double cooked boiled eggs and other trendy labelling.

Coopers, an anachronism..? No, i dont believe it is. The stout, for example, is still one of the best mainstream stouts available. In my opinion. It always reviews very well on Beer Advocate too, ive noticed. Price is fair still, too...i dont compare it to a $30 stout from Tool or Brewdog, you can buy anything for enough money. And Coopers Vintage is a great drop even when fresh. I have 2 cartons in the cupboard, from 2012 and 13, which I havent tried yet. The oldest ive tried was a 2010 last year, and it was pretty special. There's not many reasonably priced mainstream beers that can be aged...presumably only the bottle conditioned ones can be. ☺

I've tried to keep the Cooper Vintage. But unfortunately to good to cellar. Kept them for special occasions but every Friday night in the spa was a special occasion

If you like an IPA but think there a little to heavy in summer, try Feral's 'Sly Fox' its pretty fresh and hoppy

I understand completely. I once kept 2 cartons of Coopers Stout longnecks ageing for 3 years...but once I decided to try just one bottle, that was it.I finished off the lot in short time. My 2 cartons of Vintage are going untouched for a few years yet, if I can.

I don’t like it never have. It’s a triumph of marketing over substance so let’s just agree to disagree. And yes I’m a total beer snob. Bye the way, interesting you quote the Reinheitsgebot, as being the fascist over reaction it is Coopers would be banned.

Yep, we'll have to agree to disagree, then. Are you a member of Perth Beer Snobs on Fb, by any chance? I was for several years...but quit the group this year as the real snobs and wankers outweighed the enthusiasts after a while. It wasn't fun anymore. It'd become endless heckling of mainstream beer...as if the beer made the person.

Yes I’ve seen that, my stepdaughter works for a retailer and I’ve given her a beer education, she discovered Snobs and was heckled for being knowledgeable and a girl. Some pretty shallow types on there. We sorted them though. 😜

Have you been to Petition bar in the city ? Hubba Hubba !

It's the beer, not the brand. From the mainstream brewers, Coopers is a standout. Yes they have a few shit ones I our opinion but different tastes for different folks. Maybe a session on Coopers Red would sort Sails out....

Don’t mind Coopers Green off the tap but these days there are so many tastier options, and I live 5 clicks from Little Creatures, Gage Roads, Monk, Sail & Anchor etc. The Swan Valley with Feral, Mash, and a half dozen more is only 40 minutes, so why bother ! Back in the day when the choices were VB, Export and Emu it was Coopers every time. But those days are gone. Thank fuck. The only thing a session on Coopers Red will do for me is give me the runs. Now if you want to pop in to LC for for some hand cut chips (frits) and a swim through the beer list, that would be my pleasure. 🍻

I'd read on Perth Beer Snobs that Petition has some top beers on tap, but never been there. Mainly because i dont know anyone who'd care to go drinking there. Because i work away, i dont have a large circle of friends...and none of them are beer snobs. Been to Little Creatures...it's a fun place to have dinner, and i thought the service was fantastic considering it was new years eve. And i didnt even book. But not really a fan of their beer...a little too floral for my taste. But not bad, as such. Of those other local beers, i really like Ferals Warhog...it's good value, too...and Mash's Sarcasm. Good, strong beers. Ive just finished work, and im at the beergarden at Olympic Dam...a big minesite in SA...relaxing wjth a Coopers stout. This bar has all the main line of beers from Coopers. You’ll only see that in SA. Nowhere else. Theyre proud of their Coopers here, that's for sure. ☺

And the best around is Hawthorn Pale Ale. But most of their brews are up there. Do yourself a favour...... 😂
