Stuck in the Middle like being dominant, but the other side likes being submissive and getting told what to do

I'm not sure I understood the question entirely...
But if you enjoy both being dominant in some situations and equally submissive in others - then the technical term would be you are a 'switch' which you've already tagged - so must be familiar with?

Of course - sexual expression is so diverse and personal.... how can this (another facet) not be?! 🤷🏻♀️
I am a bit of a switch depending on the person I'm with. I've found each individual connection has it's own unique chemistry and trajectory... how that develops and expresses, the 'roles' we take, equally so.
What about being both is unsettling for you?
