Spell Check

August 08 2011

Just a little tired of all the sactimonious, holier-than-thou, perfect people on here nit-picking about one or two teeny tiny little spelling mistakes. SOMETIMES I type faster than what my little keyboard can keep up, sometimes I hit the key next to the one I want and the rest of the time I realy cannot be bothered checking each and every little nuance. If you have nothing better to do than pick me up on one or two mistakes....... l GET A BLOODY LIFE!!!!!!!!!! l Yes I completely understand that a comment peppered with mistakes is sooooo annoying trying to work out what the person meant and text messages take a heck of a long time to unravel. Honestly folks, time to get a little more realistic here. Stop pulling people up on every little mistake...after all we all make them.

Would be useful. I often hit send then have a Homer "DOH" moment as I too type quickly and as happens in real life , my words can get tangled up or spelt wrong and its only after I have read its published form I think " oh great.." another dumb mistake.Agree that silly nitpicking over grammar or spelling is uncalled for. If I can work out what the poster is trying to say, thats fine with me..( A paragraph/ break in lines, would be fabby too as I tend to hold my breath in the big long posts...)Mrs Sat..who's having issues with her "S" key, so bite me if Its been dropped off on any of my sentences here today!

Well, we got picked for spelling mistakes so we downloaded a spell check, we thought it was petty too. But it only takes a second to run, and easy, it checks anyone you are quoting as well, all by itself! Wonder why you cant quote the opening post? Missed out checking that one! So it does not take any effort and glad to help. Huggs

Every now and then I come across a profile that says if your profile has gramatical or spelling mistakes we are not interested (Paraphrased) I quickly move on ............ I agree FFS its a bloody sex site ! If it was a dating site and you were looking for a life partner and you were very very agrieved by dyslexics then OK but ffs you're here as a couple or wanting to fuck us as a couple why oh why does my spelling matter???.Spelling mistakes I have noticed are often most offensive to small picture people ANALytical types which on a the most part I dont really have a lot in common with ........so heck perhaps its all freakin natural sellection at play !!!!! ( I am more your big picture kinda guy).See Fi its designed so we know who NOT TO FUCK ! . Sarah and I are here for some sexy fun not a spelling bee or is that bea ....oh bugger ...bugga hmmmmm. I used to worry about my spell mistakes or grammer, but not anymore. If some smartarse is smart enough to pick up on my mistakes' then they must be smart enough to know what I was wanting to say. If they were bright enough to have a higher education level than me.. ( I left school at 14 ) then so be it.. These things cant be changed.. I'll never be a Rhodes Scholar, that cant change.. But one thing is for sure, I learnt in the school of life. And guess what, I managed to be quite successful so I must be doing something right ? Mr JJ

My on line life is conducted on a small netbook with limited download space. I cannot see the point in downloading anymore than I need to. If people canot put up with the odd mistake I dont want to know them. They can move on instead of constantly pointing out my errors. l Thanks Brae. Nice arse......I am assuming that is not yours but Sarah's. I am a big picture person as well and I do not speak in spelling mistakes so it is immaterial....yes and ANAL

We all leave out the odd word, spell there instead of their, forget punctuation and occasionally use the wrong word but since we all know what the writer meant to say what is the problem with a few misspelled words? I would much rather have a few spelling mistakes than try and decipher bloody textspeak!!Confession - I hate to see women and woman mixed up. One woman, two women OK?!

The Maxthon 3 browser comes with a built in spell checker that works across the range on all posts like these and even for those boring less than exciting things we do, Unfortunately, no MacBrowser. | If you are on IE9 ...there is now a separate download called "Speckie" that has replaced the old stuff on IE8 and under...and the interface is much faster and cleaner now in the final release. | Firefox has an add-on...and some of the others do to (Opera, Safari et al) but I only use the rest for cross browser platform checks anyway. | My trouble is looking up at really amazing beasts...damn where is that "r" when you want it. I'm probably just getting tired, I looked at my cock and it's getting late? | Awww, damn...one "L" of a typo that was, huh?

we all do it from time to time especially if we are very passionate about a topic and are typing away frantically to get a point across. Perhaps the best way to deal with the nit pickers is to just not respond/acknowledge the comment i do sometimes wonder if the reason they chose to write a comment only to pick up typing and spelling mistakes is because they didn't have an intelligent response to the forum topic itself?? and in some cases i am sure they do it purely to stir the pot and get a reaction, either way don't think they justify a response, move on...................

BUT at the moment I have two sets of couples following me from topic to topic pulling me up on spelling errors. No matter what I post. So they dont like me......I can live with that. So they dont like what I say........ I can live with that as well. I am not here to please anyone else but myself and those I choose to play with. Obviously it is never going to be couples. So they are no doubt reading this topic as well......move along folks. Stop checking out my profile, stop pulling me up on spelling errrors.

Not in Forums though or in profiles (we all make mistakes)...shit, even I do typo's or as Mistress T said I am one of those ones that puts in the wrong words! I too left school at 14 like MrJJ and am no academic genius! English is actually my second language as I only spoke Italian till I was around 9 years old! Now I can't speak or understand a word of Italian! Hopeless I tell you! BUT....if I read a book and it has a spelling mistake in it...I get all confussled and it takes me a few minutes to get over the mistake and to continue reading! I also did a Degree in Business Administration and was the only student to get 100% for spell check! Lol not bad for a wog that was expelled from 3 schools in 2 weeks and then getting a letter from the Government saying that I was not to attend school again anywhere...EVER! xFunlovingx

He would get away with murder because the school endeavoured to keep him (no matter what as he was highly academic) but he would finally get the boot for setting things alight (including fellow pupils)! A true anarchist Oh what is it about the bad boys? KK x

I think some people like to constantly correct others as a power play, to show that they have something over the other person. I have a friend who does it a heck of a lot in conversation and online. The more he learns, the more power he has to say, "Well actually...". A pity he's nearing the end of medical school - he now has a lot more ammunition. For what it's worth, Fionabee, I've never had a problem with your posts. On the contrary I actually think you're one of the more expressive users in the forums. I'm not commenting on the people who have criticised you, Fionabee, because I haven't seen it and probably wouldn't comment on it even if I had - I'm not a fan of the online drama. But I will say as a general statement that some people could use perfect spelling and grammar in their profiles and posts and still not really say anything worthwhile. I would rather read thoughtful posts like yours Fionabee than banal posts in "the King's English".

Well' to me' your wording is perfectly understandable. Do you think that maybe because we both left school at 14 we have a understanding of what each other is trying to saying.. hehe.. What a naughty girl you were, I can see things dont change that much over the years caus you still dont mind a walk on the wild side.. Good for you.. MrJJ

I have to say, I am anal over my own spelling, but you can generally tell the difference between poor education or a rush job when you read someone else's post full of errors. As it happens, my keyboard doesn't always seem to keep up with my fingers either, and if I reply to something in the heat of the moment, then invariably there will be errors too! When I read a post or a profile, I do find that the content and spelling helps shapes my impression of that person, as does the style of picture they post. We've got to base our opinions on something, but I'm more likely to have a negative impression if I find a profile or post scattered with profanities or negative comments, than on weather (sic) they spell everything correctly :)Mr O
