It's 11.18pm in QLD....an hour behind NSW and Vic. It seems WRONG that I'm on the Gold Coast, sitting in bed, ALONE. I'm even SOBER for goodness sake !! I don't know what happened... I intended to drink, I was off to a good start but somehow listening to a very CRAP band while my 5 year old was trying to pick up 10 year old boys put me in the wrong mood !!! I decided it was time for her to go to bed and for me to retreat to RHP. I sent all my Happy New Years txts early... had no one to dance or drink with so kept myself busy txting away so I didnt feel like a total loser ! OH well... this will NOT happen in 2010. xx Ms Saturn

That can't have been much fun. Please allow us to try and help you out next year. But in the meantime, it's still the new year - so happy new year! In this new year, may all your dreams come true but one - so you will always have something to dream about!

sometimes words just can't make it better see you at Parkes next year!....did any one step out side and see the big bright moon and stratus cloud......and spare a thought for all those not here tonight to see it.Ahmen....to all those dearly departed, and fresh in our memories...no longer able to gaze in wonder at the celestial heavens above on this special night.R.i.p Clay 34yo lost his life on Christmas day this year, left behind a wonderful wife and 3 gorgeous kids who think dad is still out fishing...mannnn the tears are welling up in my eyes as i write this.....sometimes life sucks!!

I have been on the Singstar with my daughters...all fun and laughter until I put my Rock Amped on, then all I got was sooky faces "cos the songs were too old"..bahh I sent them to bed, broke open the champagne and belted out "You Shook Me All Night Long" to the neigbourhood Oh..also had a wee chat with a chap, wrote my wish list for 2010...and said good riddance 2009! Yeah...prolly would have preferred the comfort of some warm arms..but that will happen, all in good time. Cheers Jacqui xx

Just realised all us loners are over 40 ! Eeeekkkk... does that indicate anything? Hell, I have better stamina than most people in their 20s AND sexually... well there's no comparison there ! The hotel room is all quiet accept for the tap tap of the keyboard. Outside is a bloody noisey mess. I can hear the crap band still playing, I can hear some guy calling a girl a "fucking whore" and I can hear some cheap illegal fireworks being set off. Sounds like lots of people are PRETENDING to have fun but probably aren't !!! At least I'm not pretending ! I'm very optimistic for 2010. Every year is wonderful. Loneliness is just temporary. It will pass. Can't wait for all the exciting forum posts for 2010 !! A big group hug to all us lonely or alone RHPers. xxx Ms Saturn

well - despite plans for a nice entry to the new year with someone special... I to spent he night alone... well with my 16 yr old daugther fast asleep in her bed... I could have gone out... but I just didnt' feel right leaving her home alone by herself. The "someone special" understands which I appreciate... but it sucks to be alone. MsSaturn... I think you are onto something - we're all over 40... hopefully 2010 will bring us all the fun we can endure... I plan to start it off on the right foot tomorrow and make up for missing out on tonight... Maybe you should try the same :-) OneBrightStar... same for you... I know you'll find that special someone to give you what you need in your life. Elledee... hope you get what you want... I hear that Santa brought you some nice stuff so maybe you can try to use that to entice the someone special over. Nev... I didn't get the invite for the roast dinner.. maybe next year we should organise an RHPers fan club get together and you can cook for us all... :-) Enjoy 2010 people... it's the chance to give us all a fresh start and from what I hear and read in the forums, God knows we all could do with it... Peace, Love, Sex and Happiness to you all... Wayne xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Usually the contents of the forums put the F into Fun ( & others which I am far too polite to mention) However, to my fellow page threaders & posters alike, I am both saddened and touched by your insights. Life is such a fragile thing, something we often take for granted and abuse with such frightening abandon it takes my breath away. It is only at times when we lose someone we love, respect & admire that it hits home that life is something in which to revel and make the most of. My thoughts and love are with you, KJ and the family of the person who lost his life...and to all those who suffered such devastating loss.

Oh boy! Wayne, Saturn, Onebright, NYE is but one night. Over in a flash and heralding new beginnings! From the sounds of things, you all had the people or person you love around you so not all is as bad as it seems. A time for reflection, resolutions (gawd I loath that word...lol) recognizing what is missing from your life, is important to you, and making a committment to actively DO something to change it. I seriously do not believe that being over 40 has anything to do with being a social pariah as I see way too many under 40's alone & desparing as to why this is. I look at your pics, I pay attention to every word you have to offer via posts and know without a doubt that you are all amazing, intelligent wonderful people with equally amazing opportunities ahead of you! Lets OWN 2010! Love always, J xx

Back to Nev's post...(I always seem to take the scenic route...lol) Thanks to RHP, I've been chatting to THE most delighfully refreshing, loveliest man Ive come across in a long time (who actually isnt afraid or put off by who and what I am!) and had hoped to share new beginnings eve with him however circumstances prevented me from doing so.(in Nev's words...bugger, bum poo!!) Instead, I spent it with my daughter and others at a local club and loved every second of it! Even won some $$$, Yaaaaaaay! With fingers, eyes, toes crossed, and any other body part I can coerce, we will get another chance to take things up a notch. mwuah to you all!
