So puberty blues is coming out as a series...

July 11 2012

Does anyone have their own 'puberty blues memory' that they would care to share? For some of us it may be just yesterday, for others it may be twenty odd years ago... Be it funny, nervewracking or just downright tarty, do you care to share?   My moment... At the local hang out in New Zealand mid to late 1980's, four girls on the cusp of womanhood ( and yes we thought we knew everything too) a HQ holden pulls in with surfboards on the roof... three gorgeous tanned young surfers jump out and order some fish and chips, we all start talking as they are waiting for their food, the food comes they eat, we are still flirting outrageously, I have the hots big time for the blonde blue eyed surfie, as they are about to leave he yells out to me 'how about a pash goodbye?' so I walk over to the car (secretly remove the strawberry hubba bubba from my gob) and lean in the car and give him a big pash... dreamy... I pull back, he gives me a big wink and says 'see ya hubba bubba' I reply 'see ya chiko roll', and with a toot and a wheelie off they go...   Hahahaha, seems like just yesterday... If you are out there chiko roll, please PM me, would love to catch up! ;)

Yeah, I saw the advert on Ten some nights ago. I was shocked actually, as I had no idea they had filmed a remake and formed it into a television series. I never knew about this. But the truth is, I hate that movie!

"Oh, I think that's just my puberty blues" ... Usually that statement was a signal to get the heck out of there because shr was about to launch into yet another dreamlike reenactment of something unintelligible. With the series coming out, I keep remembering different things we all got up to back then, including getting out of dads ute, having been driven from the farm and into the small coastal town, to spend the day on the water with my friends.... Then walking my hour glass at the time size 10 frame across the road to my friends place ready for surfing for the day, wearing nothing but a bikini covered by a t shirt.. apparently some poor bloke dropped his milk, mouth agape as I obliviously walked past. Dad must have been in an unusually generous mood that day, as he went, apologised apparently on my behalf, bought the guy a new carton of milk and sent him on his way..

I think you'd fit the bill nicely... I've got the hubba bubba, anyone got a white HQ Holden we can borrow? Heaps of room in those old cars... What a kiss, I spent the next few months fantasising about what might have been had I brains enough to get his phone number, unfortunately though at the time I wasn't really thinking with my head... haha   How about the bikinis Wowwow? Long endless summer days, no worries...   Lilith I can just see you being a tarty little teenage minx...revelling in your newfound sexuality, *sigh* those were the days. What I wouldn't give to go back to that time with what I know now... Wow, those boys wouldn't know what hit em!!! haha   xx
