we thought it was a bit harsh, and obviously written by someone who had made their mind up on this "lifestyle" well before writing the article.Quote:"Swinging is beyond my comprehension because I simply cannot imagine any scenario in which I'd feel comfortable loaning my fiance out to a stranger" ...and..."I don't think I'd recover if I was made to watch another man becoming biologically involved with my partner"

Though from what Rockers have quoted it sounds like one of those puff pieces written for shock value, with a definite destination in mind, by a less than great journo, to be sucked upby the masses who often seem to believe that just because its written it must be accurate and true.Exactly the reason why i don't bother with those kind of newspapers and i use the term "newspaper" loosely !Cheers Nev

Purely by coincidence, a friend brought the article around for me to read today, as he knew I would be interested. It was a disgrace! I find it hard to believe that in this day and age, such biased journalism is allowed to go to print. The journalist found fault in everything, from the club itself, to its patrons, to Bryan and Leesa who had welcomed this man into the venue. He made us (the "swingers") out to all be twits or sex workers or dirty old men and I can't fathom why someone would choose to write about something he such preconceived notions about, and not be willing to even try to see things from another angle. What a wanker! Grrrrrr :( Mrs W

I am not sure what article you talk of, but if it is the Q weekend one this is how we saw it. LOL, it was so funny, the guy didn't report it as it should have been done...he neglected to say "what he did"..lol I thought it was okay, anytime they Spell our name Couples International right, is enough for me. We have had so many articles written on us and we are happy people find the time to come and do them. Not everyone has the same ideas as we do, and we simply dont care. As we said before....just spell our name right, people will come and they do and then they make their own minds up. We all know how great it is...and we simply dont care what he says. But the funny part is that he didnt say what he did and how much of a good night he had....i will leave it at that. Leesa

And our attitude to his comment about a working girl and her "boyfriend being there. So friggin what. He is lucky she was honest enough to tell him she was there, does that make her an less of a person than us. And the article says she was there with her boyfriend too....so maybe they just needed a night out together. I can not stand people that judge others for what they do in their lives. He didnt mention the police officers that were there with their wives, the doctor or the lawyer...or even the housewife with her hubby. So what they say in the papers is simply a load of rubbish and i think we are all smart enough to know not to read them and believe everything they say. I wonder if i should call his wife and tell her what he did....ummmmm no i dont think so, as that would be wrong on so many levels hey..lol

Didn't see that article but the "Morning Show" on channel nine on Monday had a story about swinging also....they had two female guests (names escape me now)..one was a swinger. They had a bit of fun with it..but overall it was a pretty positive story..so that was good to see...for a change!

Quoting 'rockercouple80' we thought it was a bit harsh, and obviously written by someone who had made their mind up on this "lifestyle" well before writing the article.Quote:"Swinging is beyond my comprehension because I simply cannot imagine any scenario in which I'd feel comfortable loaning my fiance out to a stranger" ...and..."I don't think I'd recover if I was made to watch another man becoming biologically involved with my partner"Anyone that that writes 'biologically involved' possibly has a hang-up with sex.And the person has a problem with "loaning out his partner" but presumably not himselfSounds like a case of the old double standard to me.RegardsMr. SR.

At the end of the day Leesa ... the venue name spelling is important .. the Nob reporter & some select cutaway Vision will fade but Subject matter will Not . Good Stance . Peeps can make their own mind up ; the Statistics on liberal sexual activity and attitudes over the last few years are not surprising to those whom have a social life ..... . Workaholics , midnight candle burners , reporters & politicians ..... . That's another story .. eh ♥ Living a little is good for the Economy & the soul hehe

Ok so I was interviewed and quoted in the original Qweekend Magazine in the Courier Mail in Brisbane a few weeks ago. When I was interviewed I was told that this was only for the Courier Mail and was not advised that the article would get over to Western Australia. At the very last page of the article in the Qweekend it says names were changed - were they indeed - NOT! Well my name hadn't been. I don't have a problem with people knowing what I get up to here as my family and most of my friends are over in WA.WELLLLLLLLLLLL - I got a phone call from my mother the other day saying she had read an article about ME in the STM (Sunday Times Magazine in Perth). As she was reading it I noticed that the article was exactly the same as the one published in the Courier Mail's Qweekend Magazine. It mentioned my name, my age and the fact that my husband was overseas. My neighbours had previously thought that I was a swinger because they allegedly heard someone talking to me from my ensuite bathroom one day (I was actually talking to my dog). This of course was not true as I had not even started swinging or being in an open marriage at this point. Around this time my mother had come to visit me from Perth and they told her what they had thought had gone on (which was not true at that point in time). So now here it is my own mother is calling me telling me that she is reading this article on swinging and I have been quoted! Tell me how would u feel if your mother knew about ur sex life? Mortified! Ok what I do in my life and what goes on between myself and my husband is our business but how can the writer of this article in the Qweekend magazine get away with this??? I only hope that no one else I know in Perth recognises that it is me in the article!Soooooooooooooo I contacted the writer of the article via email who said he was really sorry and that at the time of the interview he did not know that the story would go interstate and that he would be glad to write an email stating that the person named in the article was not me. Sorry Indeed! I am sure that he got paid handsomely for his article! As if I am gonna get him to write an email, who would believe that after I had gone to so much trouble to deny it was me.I am sure that this article has given Couples International the notoriety it deserves i.e. it is a very friendly, welcoming and fun club to go to but........................ for those of you who want to keep ur lifestyle on the down low from your closest friends and family please be very careful. This guy has done the wrong thing by me using my name (sure no last name mentioned but it is obvious to people who know me that it is in fact me because of all the details he had used), especially when he said names will be changed! P.S. Couples Int it has been a pleasure being a member of your club. If it was not for the relaxed atmosphere that you guys have there I doubt I would be having as much fun as I do in this lifestyle. (Despite this article putting a bump in my road).

leesa im sure a email to said f@#k wit reminding him of the great night he had might just put the wind up him. Or maybe offer a complmentary visit for himself and wife to come next time..lol but on a positive note i read on line yesterday a article in Grazia mag about a infedility agreement a couple had. i think it was a cutting of a book but a good read all the same. but good on you leesa for letting people into your business, only thru open discusion will peoples pre concieved ideas change.
