Recognising other RHRers

November 30 2009

Hey All, Now I Know the topic has come up a few times, But I was out over the week end and was thinking about it.I know when people organise meet n greets and other events, usually in the post somewhere it has something along the lines of, " RHPers will be wearing red, or a flower in the hair, or a certain coloured hat, or will be at a specific place" Usually this seems to work quite well, But if your organising to meet at a Pub, how many people there will be wearing red shirts, And some of them might not even been associated with RHP, and if they are a new member they might feel either shy or embarrassed to walk up to people wearing red shirts, for fear of that person not being from RHP, so they walk around for abit hoping that someone will recognise them, but end up leaving a short time later. My suggestion is:For RedHotPie to come up with Wrist Bands. Most people I Know wear wrist bands - the rubbery/ plastic ones. Either to support a cause or a footy team or anything else. Something that semi blends in with other ones, But if you are a member of RHP you would know straight away it was a RHP wrist band. It doesnt even have to say RHP on it, I dunno maybe Fluro green with red strips or something... - just something different. They could even turn it into a competition to design a RHP wrist band.I know when I'm on the train and I see people headin off to the footy with their Footy team members lanyards on, weather they know other people with the same lanyards or not, they will start a conversation with them, as the common interest is already established. Wouldn't it be great to be able to do that with RHP???I have been recognised a few times either in a shop or on a train, and the person doesnt say anything to me there and then but they will wait til they get home and ask, " hey were you on the train today" But they werent 100% sure, so a missed opportunity....The amount of times i go out shopping by myself and see a hottie, and have been so tempted to walk up to him and start chatting - sometimes i have, but usually I dont. But if we were both wearing the wrist band, the common interest has already been established as well as the topic - pick up line - whatever you want to call it. Obviously if its a private party there is no need to wear it, But if your heading out to the pub, or even down the beach, it'll be small enough not to stand out too much, only to others that know about it.It'll be like showing your status online - but in the real world, and if you want to go offline ... simply just take it off :)I think if enough people get behind it, something could be done about it :)Everyone else's thoughts?????<<>>

We have mentioned the wrist bands on a few occasions..especially for use in swingers clubs.coz they can be used in spas etc.Maybe RHP can organise wrist bands that can be purchased and the proceeds raised go to a nominated charity...ie something for men and /or womens health.Maybe RHP can have a competition for the best motto to have on the wrist band ....Just a thought, Grav n Leelee xxx

I had the same problem...what to show as an "identity thing" when it came to a meet at the pub! Wrist bands are the greatest idea especially on a warm nite with no flipping jumpers covering them!:)I smell a competition coming on

Velvetbite..i like your motto Im sure there will be hundreds of ideas to be added on here.Great post Tiges....gets everyone involved. I'm sure we have all had the same sort of experience at meets before....trying to find people you haven't met before.  Imagine coming across another single /couple to be a potential partner /play date would be fun. At least you would have common ground to start off a conversation... who knows....you might get lucky or just make a new friend.Come on RHP....be a great idea for the Christmas/New Year season coming up.Grav n Leelee xxx

Hey TGi think that's a fantastic ideaits always a great ice breaker that's for sureput my vote forward definitelyas per the colours i dont know but im sure that can be worked in the competition too. It would have to have a few things though to not mistake it for another wrist band as you say there is a few out there.a easily recognisable as a RHP band something that no one else does....i dont think ive seen striped onesb what they are looking for etc.... bi, straight, curious, etc etcthose are just a few of my thoughts... look forward to more :) bris

Great ideas about the colour coding in swingers clubs, as we dont have our lappys there with us, so we dont know what people are looking for singles, couples, man ect ect..I'm thinking we should try for a generic one first off ... once it takes off, and people are wearing them, then go for the colour codes ;) Cmon ppl jump onboard !!!!!Tiges

How about a secret handshake.... you know... a dollop of silicone lube on your middle finger and then twiddle it into the palm of every person you suspect to be an RHP member. *shrugs* If nothing else, you will surely get the opportunity to strike up an interesting conversation good or bad, come what may.   Hugs Gaz

Perhaps a coloured band with a red stripe that denotes RHPbut with the colours that others have mentioned....white with red stripe for voyeurs..green with red stripe for newbies that are keen..pink with red stripe for bi galslight blue with red stripe for bi or gay guysblack with red stripe for kinkypurple with red stripe for open to anything...oh..and you could wear multiple bands.Just my opinion...BJxxx

Coloured wrist bands a good idea.  Better than going to the casino function looking for white balloons.  There were three parties with white balloons - how's a person supposed to know who to ask!!!

Quoting 'gazpacho41' How about a secret handshake.... you know... a dollop of silicone lube on your middle finger and then twiddle it into the palm of every person you suspect to be an RHP member. for a second I thought you might suggest the crocodile dundee "grope" as a secret handshake...It'll quickly sort the wheat (RHPers) from the chaff, and the frankfurters from the bratwursts ;)I recall one ladies anklet at a party... " I <3 COCK " it was subtle... but effective

lol with all the rainbow comments and special wristband colours for Gaz .... to put this once and for all to bed.. All these inuendos that come up from time to time in the forums regarding my sexuality.. lmfao... I do prefer women but Im not afraid to say that Im quite attracted to masculine handsome guys. But I am NOT GAY although my boyfriend is .... and to make matters more complicated my wife is homophobic .... so I'm in a bit of a tight spot that's all. it's really quite simple if you say it fast. :P   Hugs Gaz

Sorry Gaz, I shouldn't make assumptions (or take cheap shots) about your sexuality.   Looking at it positively at least having a homophobic wife and gay boyfriend means they are unlikely to run off with each other... and most of the single men on RHP have been complaining about the lack of tight spots...   Keep it up Gaz .  I really enjoy your posts...   Mr. SR.

Mikle made a good point re confusing colored bands from other organisations and I think that multiple bands for sexuality etc could be a bit messy when out and about.   My thoughts to fine tune an otherwise good idea would be to have the same band for all (in the RHP red and green maybe) with a series of clips (or 'charms') that you can attach to it using a similar color scheme to MissBJ and customer69's suggestions.   That way we definitely know if they are RHPers and using the clips can identify what or who they are looking for??   And thats my two cents

Quoting 'mikle' Inbetween what an original creative and great idea!! Yay you..!!   Gee im REALLY sorry mikle. I did noy realise that expanding a bit on an idea and acknowledging previous posters meant I was 'stealing' others ideas or being totally unoriginal.   Think u might need to get out a bit more and see how the world really works..

Mate, settle down. I thought mickle's comment was a compliment.   Anyway I'm not into the whole multiple bangle or trinkets idea, unless it is kept very simple. Lots of people apparently don't want advertise all the stuff they're interested in... .it's enough to know they somone is an RHP member to get a conversation started and that ought to be enough intro. I mean just because someone is into pissing on other people's faces doesn't mean that they intend to do that to every one they meet.   Hugs Gazza

it's a gr8 idea....don't jump ahead too quickly..just start with a basic format to start otherwise it won't get off the ground and it will confuse matters donating the money to a worthwhile cause would be good... and given RHP is about sex...it probably should revolve around promoting safe sex or avoiding diseases such as AIDS etc..??
