I too have to laugh at everyone that treats this like Facebook. I am sure that there are people that add them just for the sake of doing so and never once chat to them. My Friends list has 7 people on it...all these people are or used to be regular Forum Contributors and although I have never met any of them...I like to keep up with when they write on here! And like you I am turned off by someone who has alot of people on their list! xFunlovingx

Every one on mine ive met except for a few who ive met in the forums or in chat. That was past. Now though as i do organise greet n meets with xxxjaxxxx im thinking its a good way to advertise and if i post a meet my friends hear about it on updates with out having to check events all the time. Now as the soul purpose for being on here is to chitty chat with like minded people and organise social meet n greets i'm thinking l may as well become friends with the hundred or so pending. More people to meet the better. So for me it is a marketing tool. Yes l hear ya.....start a bloody organisation profile :p

I must agree with all the replies. Each had very valid points. Some people would even brag about the friends they have on their profile, especially if that person happens to be a very attractive lady.Others would use this as a technique to have a more subtle approach and let the person they are befriending feel like they are not only after a shag but they want a more meaningful relationship.I personally believe that this method does not really work and it is best to get to know the person before sending the friend request; or at least ask them first.

I am always a bit suspicious of friend collectors.

...and no real formula to it. I doubt you would have any trouble attracting lots of attention...it happens. I wonder though, does anyone really ever look much past the first 6 that appear on the profiles? I suppose some do but that in itself would almost put them in the Face Book club, or worse...the ever present Profile Information Stalkers Society, PISS for short. | I do know one woman here quite well that will top 900 friends on her list shortly...it's a bit of a joke as when she was here before under a different nick accepted none. Then again, I also know the guy that managed to slip under the radar and actually was the first to ever "validate" her...those I do read, and if there are a lot tend to make me nervous. | Shhhhhhh don't tell...you might be taking the PISS.

I am the same, all my friends I have either met or have regular conact with. I will go through and cull them regularly if I haven't heard from them or their profile hasn't been visited in "Over a month".

I have been a member of RHP long enough to know that the only safe assumption that can be made about a person/s friends list is that those with many or those that request to be my friend without having ever spoken to me and I, have very different ideas as to what a friend is.I never assume that those with many friends have had sex with them all as for some people that would just be ludicrous

We've always been very tight when accepting friend requests. Only people we've met. The good thing about the friends lists is that those people are notified about our parties, so they tend to jump in and register first.

my list is very select only people i have really met up with are on it, not sure why you would want a huge list of people that you dont even know keep it simple keep it honest Andy

I think the Facebook mentality gets to people and it's just a click of the mouse. Some people are here just to get down to business. Some people want to make friends with the people that they get down to business with. Some people can't message and flirts aren't enough usually - so maybe they thought you'd like their profile off face value enough to add them and communicate that way?Either way they want to be your "friend" - you should be annoyed yet flattered in some way.THE MRSxx

ive had on numerous occasions had friend requests on facebook from older guys who send a mesage with the request it always says " im married but my wife knows im on here she thinks its hot , i think ur sexy as and would love to get together and f*** ur brains out message me back" i dont understand why they do that on facebook, i can understand to a certain point why we get bombabred with friend requests here ,
