Random Friend Requests : These always confound me.....!!!!.

Ms Shout thinks it's because they're friend collectors under the misguided impression it makes them look good/popular (ie. they're doing it for wide appeal.) Mr Tryst thinks it's because they're under the misguided belief that it's strategic - ie. the person they've requested is more likely to maintain contact/be willing to meet (ie. they're doing this for specific appeal.) You'll often get this from single male guests who can't send a message, and so, other than flirts, it's their only way to stand out and make contact. On further consideration reading over Mr Tryst's shoulder, Ms Shout agrees with that second point too. :p T&S x

Find it a bit weird too. We did hear a rumour on here though that there was a competition going between some of the girls in regards to friends numbers. That doesn't account for the random guys and couples friend requests we get though - we've had one guy send friend requests 7 times without ever having had contact with us!

Can I ask what the point is other than perhaps an indicator of how many notches has on ones belt? One could use lists to keep track of people you like and want to talk to regularly without displaying it to the world? I don't make friend requests nor want them!- Posted from rhpmobile

Indy, unfortunately there are too many ignorant idiots in the cyberspace! It doesn't matter what conditions you put in your profile or whether they read your profile or not, they would still do as they pleased! This is called DISRESPECT! Friends lists always intrigue me. All of mine are either women I have met or people I have befriended on the forums and chat room. I haven't physically met some of them and probably never will but we have connected so yes they are my cyber friends to a degree. Hope that makes sense. I agree with Tryst_and_Shout. I am convinced that for some, having that young stud or sexy woman as a friend is a unsubtle attempt to show the rest of the RHP community that they can attract those types of people, a form of self advertising if you will.

I think it is an anxiety or nervous thing. Kind of like how people add a certain number of friends on facebook as to not seem unpopular. Which sounds stupid - because it is!

Hey it's not like we don't want friends but come on, isn't part of that process a "getting to know you" thing through contact, chats, messages, forum interaction and then meeting? lol I also don't get the FACEBOOK thing where people (mainly kids) have 700 plus friends!! I mean I KNOW everyone I'm friends with on Facebook and THINK I know relatively well the friends I have here....given the information and chats that have occurred IF I haven't actually met them yet.....I still like to think I'm a bit discerning even then. Most out there would be the same too I believe.

I too have had a number of people send me friend requests without a single point of contact first. I am not sure what their thoughts are behind such a move but when it happens I generally hit the reject button. The people on my friends list are those that I have had contact with in some form or the other....messages, phone or better yet in person. And no I haven't had sex with all of them either. Some are there purely because I have found them to be fun and interesting people.

I for one with facebook won't add a friend unless they are at least an acquaintance with which i would talk to. Otherwise it just cheapens the whole idea? As far as RHP goes, i can't help but feel a little sad that i am friendless on here thus far :P. I am sure that will change with time though and i won't request a friendship until i've gotten to know someone at least. It is presumptuous and rude i agree.- Posted from rhpmobile

Hi want to be my friend seems a little bit lame!!a random request on here of hi i want to fuck you yea that I would understand given the site it is and checking out profiles or pics but to get but a random friend request hmmm each to their own ?! Not always that we are friends or sleep together. I do it because my women friends know that the guy is real. I meet a lot through taking photographs for profile pictures. some of my friends I have cuppa tea with some we talk on the phone all the time some I fuck , and some fuck me but I would not put that up as I bonked so and so. I just say they are smoking hot or what ever. I do not put up people I have never met in person, I am not a fan of face book either. I have a few friends, but then I am a friendly kinda woman that likes to travel and finds people very interesting.

I only accept friend requests from genuine, like minded people, who I consider Friends outside of RHP - Reminds me of FB, only difference is there are more filters on FB to stop the unsavoury, attention seekers and stalkers from trying to befriend you.

there are many reasons people may friend, some of which have already been mentioned.like others we get dozens of friends requests from single guys who typically dont even meet our requirements lolwe have two types of friends on our list those we have already met and those we are serious about meeting, once our chats/messages suggest a higher than average compatibility we send a friend invite, 1. to let them know we are serious and 2. so when we do find we have time on our hands our friends list is the first place we look...so it has nothing to do with numbers or facebook or being to tight fisted to buy a membership but simply it is about efficient searching:-)P&n

Have had a few random friend requests of late, by guys that I've not had any contact with. Thinking a little rude. And if they read my profile it states 'don't send friend requests as they will be rejected'. If someone's on your Friends List , aren't they able to follow you ? Some people may not contribute to the Forums but do like to follow them and the postings of certain Individuals . I also think some people like to affiliate themselves with people they think are popular . "If I'm on their Friends List , maybe I can soak up some of their popularity" And assumptions that if someone is on a Friends List that they have been Intimate . And the whole FaceBook mentality. i have only friends that have connected via chat and messages and that i have had meet me....i will always reject if no contact has been made prior to request.............i dont use the friends list as a tally board either............i like the way the birthdays show up for your friends on your profile so you can wish your mates a great day........
