Proper English Tips for Forum Users.....=)

October 02 2012

If you reread your work, you can find on rereading a great deal of repetition can be avoided by rereading and editing.Don't be redundant and use more words than necessary it's Highly Superfluous, take the bull by the hand and avoid mixing metaphors go around the barn at high noon to avoid colloquialisms.Even if a mixed metaphor sings, it should be derailed.Never use a long word when a diminutive one will do. and it is best to avoid trendy locutions that sound flaky.Parenthetical remarks (however relevant) are unnecessary.Last but not least, avoid cliches like the plague. They're old hat, seek viable alternatives.

Nudie might call it, "shutting the gate after the words have rolled off your tongue", or some such thing. I look at it then and think, "I'm a fuckin' idiot" and I'm quite sure there are many other contributors that agree with me. I am guilty of using 'big' words here and there but I find that this can make your comment more succinct. You're not using a whole group of 'little' words to convey the same meaning.

to fit those of us who are not trained to type properly and are looking for short cuts to keep up with our thoughts. The flexibility of the language is part of the reason for its success, so you may not be using it properly unless you too are flexible with itI rekinAnd inefficiency should be abolished (like why are there two f's in efficiency ?)
