Profiles disappearing out of nowhere?

Maybe a little bit off topic in here, but figured I would ask anyway.... This morning I had started chatting with another person on here. Conversation was going well in the messenger app, we'd exchanged a few pics, and it felt like we were starting to feel that initial spark of attraction. Around lunch time I stopped receiving replies from her. Not an issue, we're both at work and it's lunch time, I can understand that she's busy and I'm confident I'll hear back from her later today. Fast forward a few hours and I notice the conversation has disappeared out of my inbox completely, and her profile appears to have vanished from this site. I search by username and it simply doesn't display. My understanding is that if she had just blocked me, her profile would still show up in search results, but I wouldn't be able to click on it or see any details. Has this changed in a recent update, or has something else happened here? If she has just gone ahead and blocked me, that's disappointing, and I have no idea what I said that would prompt such a strong and immediate reaction... She'd just asked me where I am located, i'd answered and asked her the same. That was the final message I'd sent her and was waiting for a reply on. I guess it's possible she decided I'm too far away and that it is easier to just block/ghost me upfront? But if that's the case, I'm a big boy, I can handle a polite (or even impolite) rejection. Oh well... I'm just keen to understand what has happened here...

It could have been a fake profile. Yes, there are fakes here... Or the one who was having a conversation with you just decided to end the conversation in a disrespectful way. In my experience, it was too. Never mind.

Sorry to say, but if your conversation disappeared she either did block you or deleted her profile. Likely the former. Many women do 'hide' themselves - turn their profiles off. If she did that you'd still be able to message her and see your conversation. In an ideal world she would have just been able to let you know that it wasn't going to work and you both have 'closure' before parting ways. Unfortunately because some men don't take rejection very well (and the ones that don't are incredibly disparaging... Even the ones that start off very well mannered) - many women do not want the 'confrontation' of that conversation.. it's difficult to pick who is going to 'turn'

To me, it is more likely blocked. It has happened to me few times by guys here so I say she has blocked you. Artsy

Either blocked or the profile has been closed (by the user or the site if determined to be a fake profile- yes it does happen). It would be nice to think it would be possible for the user to just say the conversation is not going to continue, but (sadly) there is plenty of evidence in the forums to support that some members do not react well when this happens, so it’s just a matter of trying to put it behind you and moving forward really. Onwards and upwards.

The short answer is Who would know? The number of singles / couples who disappear when you ask to meet or speak on the phone indicates they are probably all talk. Just enjoy the company of people you do meet

Well I've been on this site for years on and off. In the last month I've been blocked gosted on this site on messages on text and phone. This is usually the night before we have aranged to meet up. Now it's got to the point we have met up he's complained that woman have lied to him and blocked him. Ice chatted made him feel better about himself, once I've left in the morning he's blocked deleted and goasted me before I even got home. Like wtf are men now acting like little boys? Grow some balls and talk like a real man. Is this happening to others or have I just become a Counciling service with sex? 🤔
