Profile Names - Your thoughts

How important are profile names to you?

We had a gent reach out with a name like - MakesYouCream. Margo countered with... MakesMeCringe 😆

She won't bother chatting with a guy who has a silly sexual name about how big he is, or how he makes women do things.

I had a date with a lovely woman one time. She mentioned an FWB we might want to have a foursome with.

His name was something like: BarryBallsDeepInYou.

Of course having anything to do with him was an immediate NO from Margo.

I asked the lady about his name, she said, oh it's just a joke. Which begs the question, why have a joke for a profile name 🤔

How important are profile names to you?

Guys with such profile names just make it easier (if there is such a thing) for the rest of us.
I always assume women with such names are either trolls, guys or bots.

Wankers and Thirst Traps come to mind!
I'm with Margo, any profile names that remind me of cheap 70's porn stars or movie title, is an instant NO from me. Very unimportant to me.

Ohhh I love profile names but purely from the perspective of social signalling and communication… how we choose to communicate masculinity, femininity, sexual expectations etc etc
But I’m with Margo and Foxy
Anyone claiming “lovestoeat” or or “penetrateu” or “sheathformysword” (geddit??)
something overt and completely unimaginative is a huge turn off
Tho “sheathformysword” would pique my interest because I’d wonder if they actually know the meaning of the word vagina…

My profile name is usually some variation of my name because I’m that boring

Atm it’s wandered because I’m lying on a couch in my profile pic.

This is total hard core nerd stuff but it’s a nod to the final verse in Wordsworth’s poem …

“For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
    Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
    And dances with the daffodils.”

    And my mind wanders
    A lot

The thing is with the “SirLickalot” and “HungnJuicy” type names (made up names) is exactly what you are describing. It gives you this pffft type laughter that makes you just click it away. I could potentially overlook it if there was a nice photo and message with it. But these type of names come with no photo or a boring torso and the message will read “wanna play” or “cum for me”…. Then they expect good results.
    It’s like comedy…
If the name isn’t outstandingly silly, then I don’t care or notice that much. I look out for the profile photo first and foremost, then if the message is nice.

I feel like I can speak through experience here, after way too many attempts of what you might call a ‘normal’ username we’re already taken, I started to get silly and this is the first thing that worked. Mine was purely out of mild annoyance/impatience haha

I dislike boring, generic ones particularly when its got words like fun, bad boy, new or naughty. Its dull and a bit dim. eg. Badboy4fun, Naughtyfuntimes. NaughtyBadBoi, New2this. Yawn.

    Yeah , it matters..
Like others have said ,I'll rule out based on stupid usernames like sitonmyface69 . I'm also drawn to good or interesting usernames.

I've had a few on here over the years but never felt the need to name myself something like lickmyflaps , I just don't get why you would.

Profile names privide good filters. Faced with "Genuinegent" or " Anyfemalehole69" I know which one would get my response. I really dont get why they think its a turn on.

I think a username is a first impression that can signal intentions or something about the person. But I don't give too much weight to it.

One username I came across was "....fungal"

I figured out after a while that it meant fun girl, I initially thought she was bragging about a yeast infection or something 🤣

Some are intriguing, as to what they stand for or mean ,some are smart and clever ,some are enticing and the ones you speak of are self filtering ,😀,

We organise MINGLE parties and invite a few single guys to join in, if they want to attend we screen them by asking questions and getting clear face pics, check validation. Anyone with an offensive or crude username gets past step 1. I think usernames tell a lot about the personality. It has worked well so far with only great guys coming along, who fit in well.

We are the same, those alpha, dominant (pretty much anything with bull) or borderline disrespectful profiles are instant turn offs! We do like romantic or witty ones a lot!

Oh I love the forums.... and I love seeing people I chatted to years ago. I use to be CARNTBE. Cannot be good then it turned into Carnt... that's when I had some time out and came back with this name. Unfortunately most messages I get say why not, or I looked and I liked. Any suggestions that I won't get sick of.

Some people had the best user names and we still keep in touch. I miss those days when the chat rooms were fun and people were always meeting up.

My thoughts are, we didn't get to pick the name our parents gave us, but when you choose a name for yourself, it can say a bit about your attitude so I'm guilty of not wanting to chat with someone because I find their username offputting.
