Overcoming Obsession

September 29 2010

obsessionn.1. Compulsive preoccupation with a fixed idea or an unwanted feeling or emotion, often accompanied by symptoms of anxiety.2. A compulsive, often unreasonable idea or emotion.Recently I have found myself...craving. Hungering. Desiring things I cannot have. At least, not yet. Tiny thoughts that rumble through my head and I find my mouth watering with a lust for unattainable goals. The more I think about them, the harder it gets to fight. What do you RHPers do when you can't have what you want?

Alright. Obsessing is not kewl. See your doctor and get some valium or something... maybe some medicinal cannibas... you know .. chill ... go for a surf! If you catch yourself obsessing change your environment momentarily. Something that will distract you from that narrow field of vision that has you transfixxed on your object of desire or lust... and good things come to those who wait. this community cliche announcement has been brought to you by the stalkmoister. :p Hugs Stalky

Have what I want? I make it a point in my life to just get what I want anyway. You are 22 years old. Heaps of time left for those unattainable goals. Fionabee

and all those cravings and compelling lustful thoughts will all be put to good use in your 'alone time' (I have a lot of that, living a while from the city). The funny thing is, when you do eventually tick off some of your obsessions, more pop up just as intensely, rearing their gorgeous heads and taunting and teasing you... and some stick around. There is a man on here, when I think about his cock, my mouth WATERS. It hasn't gone away yet, that obsession... It's just the crazy world we live in. Mysterious, alive, vividly surreal and beautiful... relish all your obsessions and enjoy the fuck out of the fantasies they evoke...

We're genetically predisposed to crave the unattainable - it keeps us striving, increasing our chances of success and therefore our odds of procreating. Once you understand it, you can stop stressing over it and turn it to good use. Get a copy of 'The Moral Animal' by Robert Wright - if it strikes a chord, you'll lose your panic. Even if it doesn't, it'll occupy you and keep your mind of your problems... :-)
