Greetings all. Has anyone heard of, considered, or practiced Orgasmic Meditation? Basically, its 15 mins of stroking the clitoris. The upper left quadrant to be precise. But this description would be to minimise an expansive practice into a simple nutshell. There is a whole international movement that has evolved out of this practice and its philosophy. A description from The Frisky dot com (<academic referencing happening here folks) states: "For those of you who are not familiar, OM (Orgasmic Meditation) is a sequenced practice in which one partner gently strokes the other partner’s clitoris for 15 minutes. The result is said to be therapeutic, rather than sexual. The “stroking” allegedly activates the limbic system and releases a flood of oxytocin. The technique was originally billed as a spiritual-style practice like meditation, but as it gains popularity, it’s being presented as more of a “technological innovation” or “body-hack to happiness.” The “guru” of the technique, 46-year-old Nicole Daedone, guarantees that it’s profound whether you’re coupled or single." Nicole Daedone is the author of "Slow Sex: The Art and Craft of the Female Orgasm", and founder of OneTaste, the movement behind it all. She has a spiel on TEDx called "Orgasm: The Cure for Hunger in the Western Woman", and her website is OneTaste dot us. Would love to hear your opinions.

    No I haven't tried it. Although their is an orgasmic meditation school in Melbourne that does this. One woman strips while the other strums her to orgasm. Totally strange concept really. Why is it acceptable for women to do this but men can't have their own wanking circles? Of course it costs quite a bit of money to attend a meditation session. Well actually there are Jack Off clubs as well. You aren't allowed to touch each other just wank in a circle.... over a biscuit or something? LMAO.

    Its been around a long time now...... its called the Welcome Method.... ..... longgggg before Onetaste ever existed. They refer to the practice as The Deliberate Orgasm... where the purpose is to relax and stimulate your partner willingly to attain an orgasmic state, without going over the endue into climax. ITs very engaging... but most people seem hell bent on rushing towards their next climax.

    .. this would be similar if not the same. Most feel that stimulation of the clit automatically equals orgasm which is true, but I believe theres more to it if you take the time to look for it.. I would love to take all the time in the world to experience slow sensual stimulation of body and mind.. If and when the time comes 'I'll jump at it... Anyone think along the same lines ?

    I've OM ed about three past lovers including my partner, without knowing the name of it I've been doing it with my tongue for years. In the actual practise of OMing my partner was the only one that truly embraced it and orgasmed for 14 mins of the session and then for 2-3 mins afterwards and I could not touch her for about 15 mins, as every time I touched her, she'd start orgasming again.     She had never had an orgasm/ climax except while being OMed. I wanted to have sex with her so she could orgasm after OMing or before but she only wanted me to OM her nothing else.     I've found in discusions, that for women that don't orgasm on a regular basis or can't for whatever reason. OMing can be one way to climax/ orgasm. I had an ex partner that had a hysterectomy and it took about 30 mins of licking her clit to get her to orgasm. So OMing would have worked for her. But my current partner who orgasms at least five times every time we have sex, it's way more intense and there's a hole energy about it, which makes it so much more than a regular orgasm. As the stroker it's a empowering feeling, of doing that for a women with know need for anything in return. I the past women used to go to the doctor for orgasms to relieve anxiety OMing is just replacing doctors maybe. I love being able to give a woman an amazing high like an orgasm.     I like to see the value in things as much as critically evaluate stuff. OMing has almost cult like status in the states. I get that slowing stuff down in sex is medicine to some women, and very wholesome and nourishing. I like the idea of going deep rather than (just) shooting for ecstatic heights. The movement though, I can't help but think is another example of Western reductionism at work. A former example of Tantra being reduced to how to have the longest orgasm sort of thing. If you saw the TEDx talk, Dadone speaks about how she was introduced to this technique by a Busdhist monk at a party. She then founds a new religion on it and makes big bucks. But I can't help but think what else did the Buddhist monk have in his repetoir. There are amazing, rich and elaborate erotic and esoteric sexual traditions in Busdhism, in Taoism, in Tantra. This comes across as a fad. I'm all for it, but it's probably an introductory practice to a wider range of practices. Grab a book by Mantak Chia if your interest lies beyond a single technique. My 2c.
