Nothing to do with sex, but if its too good to be true it probably is!

September 22 2012

I took my 2007 ford to a well known Wangara Ford dealership today for a service. They were offering what appeared to be a good deal - service (well oil and oil filter change), wash and vacuum for $125. I dropped my car off and picked it up about 4.5 hours later, so far, so good. After paying my bill I went to leave when my son asked why the car hadnt been vacuumed. When I looked the front floor of the car had been cleaned whilst the rear section had not. I went back to the service desk thinking it was an oversight only to be told that there was no mistake, they only vacuum the front half of the car - WTF??

Send it in to the readers' letters section. It'll make you feel better seeing it in print and the negative publicity will make them pull their sox up.

the next time you are due for a service (your car I mean) vacuum and polish the back, then tip the contents off the vac into the front. You should also raid the local maccas bin and scatter a few dozen odds and ends in the front as well.Fill a some condoms with some clag and leave those somewhere conspicuous, then go to the front of any supermarket/pub and gather a kilo or so of cigarette butts and stuff the front ashtray with as many as you can possibly fit in. (OMG this is sounding a little like my daughters car) :SIf you do do this I would recommend placing a spy cam (with audio) somewhere in the car (up near the interior light is great) and then place the resulting footage on youtube :D

That doesn't seem right, perhaps check with consumer affairs get the right information then go back to them, keep the paperwork and information because if they don't want to do something about it then go back to consumer if the say you have rights in regards this situation, they are able to deal with things, as they are well equipped with the legal aspects they usually have quite a bit of pull and don't mess around with these jerks, I have had the fortune of using their services quite a few times with results everytime.   these jerks are jerking you around it is lazy and unprofessional, and bad word of mouth is quite effective. It is their reputation at stake don't let them get away with it.

I never use dealerships, they just never seem to deliver on what they promise except for the oversize bill.I am always very specific that I don't want $200 worth of oil additives and radiator treatments, just the work listed thanks. As for cleaning why not use local kids or rellies who can use the pocket money.

Quoting 'tuscanred' they see a woman with a car equals , she knows fuck all lets rip her off.       I know one guy that is the total opposite but he has a small workshop and relies on repeat business to make a living. Dealerships use lies to get your business. They did as the ad said and probably got you and several dozen other people with this ruse. Part of the problem is that the dealership workshops charge an arm and a leg for a simple service that can be done by ANY licensed mechanic who will probably charge less. The dealers will tell you that you have to bring the car to them for servicing or you will void your warranty. This is absolute bullshit. As long as you take it to a licensed vehicle repairer (who is required to display his license number prominently) you will not void your warranty. I know all of this as I have just been through it all with a client.

If you don't use the right oil and radiator coolant and service your car regularly it could end up costing you more than the extras. As for letting the kids wash swirls into my paintwork?...I don't think so.

Just cause you don't take it to the stealership doesn't mean that your local mechanic can't pit the correct coolant and oil in it

I didn't say oils or coolants, I said additives and treatments, big difference !Especially to your wallet, and I suspect adding teflon and other crap to quality oil is only of benefit to the dealer. As for car washing by kids well thats just called discernment isn't it !I have a tradesmans vehicle so little consequence.Quoting 'MistressT' Quoting '50zcool' I never use dealerships, they just never seem to deliver on what they promise except for the oversize bill.I am always very specific that I don't want $200 worth of oil additives and radiator treatments, just the work listed thanks. As for cleaning why not use local kids or rellies who can use the pocket money. Last time I had my vehicle serviced it was at the same place, it cost me $235 to change the oil and filter and there was no wash or half a vacuum included. I took it back there not only to keep my warranty vaild, but also because it was $110 cheaper than their regular rip off price. As the warranty really isnt worth the paper its written on, the dealership can consider the other day the last transaction that will take place between us.   Im actually quite capable, so in future I will bypass the conmen and change my own oil, other fluids, fliters, belts, and vacuum half the car myself.   Cant say I expected good service when I decided to get my car serviced there, and, well, considering that, I guess Im not a disappointed customer. I just find the half a vacuum head shakingly amusing, as my original post states - WTF?
