Luckily I don't really care Playboy but adieu to the end of an era. I can't see this move improving sales. And Zoo, I enjoyed more than Playboy, but what timing for the news for both to arrive within 1 day of each other. Peachy

If you were buying magazines for the nudes back then, Penthouse was a more explicit but similar offering to Playboy, or Hustler though that wasn't as nice a quality. But I don't see why you'd buy a Playboy for anything but the articles given the amount of more easily available porn online - though even with this shift, I don't know how they'll escape the association and resultant awkwardness around buying one.
