No Way! Never!

April 07 2011

I used to watch a guy fly over my old house in a Microlight aircraft and decided I would never go up in one as it looked too scary. There was no way you were ever going to get me up in something that resembled a motorcycle hanging under a hanglider! My partner took me up in a Microlight last year and I am going to go up again soon. It is a little scary but so is a rollercoaster! What have you done, sexual or not, that you said you would never do?Is the fear really worse than the reality?

I am going hang gliding off Stanwell Tops at the end of May. Not sure how I will go as heights have always freaked me out a bit. Is the next step parachuting out of a plane? My girlfriends are trying to convince me it is a good idea but unfortunately my first response is HELL NO. But I will see how I go with the hang gliding thing first. Good on you Mistress T! xxMeeka

I (mich) had 2 close encounters with sharks as a child and subsequently became apprehensive of the ocean....so never thought I would snorkel let alone SCUBA. But snorkeling in Bali when we were just a new couple was fun, so tried it again in Thailand, then it just progressed and we got certified and now Russell, 5 years later is an Dive Instructor and we both dive all the time, with me having over 130+ dives Bungy- now that is something I would never do- I like my retinas attached and my cerebal cortex undamaged!

As a young bloke I came home and announced to Kj that I thought I might buy an Ultralight, they were only about $6k Not now, not ever sunshine was the reply or at least words to that affect....shame, would have been the cats pyjamas at the farm.Things I would never do.Parachute out of a perfectly functional aircraft.Bungee Jumping.Hang gliding.Mountain climbing even if i was fit enough. There are quite enough ways to kills yourself by accident, without inventing further risk.I would love to have a go at abseiling though.Cheers Nev

Good on you Mistress T!xxMeekaSome would argue that you should learn to skydive before you hang glide... I mean I doubt you'll need to use your hang gliding skills when you're parachuting.... but the other way around... well... maybe.

Focus - I cannot even begin to know what you are going through so I will send you lots of love and best wishes for a happy outcome.Meeka - Good luck with the hang gliding. It is beautiful down at Stanwell Tops so you have picked a good place for it. Make sure you take some thermal underwear and gloves with you as it gets colder the higher you go.Krissy - You are definitely braver than me. Bungee jumping is one of those activities that I will not be disappointed if I never participate.Nev - Why not get yourself that ultralight and to hell with what anyone else wants? Sounds like you are regretting not getting it earlier.

I am kinda over it now, that was a long time ago. I do have a hankering to get my private helicopter licence, and whilst I can afford the $25K+ price tag I don't have the time.......maybe one day! I have spent some time in a R44 but could just see myself with an R22.Snap out of it man...and stop dreaming....lolCheers Nev
